MESSAGE FROM TYRA: Welcome to "BODYVILLE"

Hey y'all,

What would you do if someone asked you to put on a flesh-colored bodysuit? Then they told you to stand in front of a mirror, virtually naked, and talk truthfully about your flaws. Dig deep into your past and address the scars of your past that affect the way you see your body. The names people called you, the rolls, the stretch marks, the cellulite, the protruding bones, the sags, the REAL naked you.

You'd feel incredibly vulnerable judging yourself like that, right? Now imagine sitting 'naked' in a room with a group of other women JUDGING your body...labeling you THICK, SKELETOR, FAT SLOB, and all the names we dread being called. Welcome to "BODYVILLE."

This ground-breaking social experiment is unlike anything you've ever seen on television before. I'm so proud of what we did. In fact, the content was so compelling - there was no way to fit it all into one show...so we made it into my FIRST EVER TWO-PART EPISODE!

There are explosive moments on camera, and even some drama backstage. Right before the show, I realized the woman HAD to be wearing their bodysuits on-stage to really illustrate the point that women judge other woman harshly. They needed to show their vulnerability in front of the audience, so I went upstairs to the greenrooms and told the women my idea. At first they didn't want to do it, so I told them that I would do it with them too. If we all do it together and show our solidarity as women, then we really prove our point. So we all did it! It helped us all relate to each other better. We've all been called those names or we've called other people those names. They called me Ethiopian when I was skinny in grade school - and they called me THIGH-RA when the tabloids called me fat. There was even a time when I was the mean girl who called people names. It's only when you experience it yourself that you wish you could take the comments you made back. Like Justin Timberlake sings, "What Goes Around Comes Around."

Watch the show THIS THURSDAY and FRIDAY. And catch me on Good Morning America Thursday morning (during the 8am hour) when I'll be promoting it. Which means - child I will be up EARLY in the morning getting my hair and makeup done. I don't know how Diane Sawyer does it every morning and looks so damn good every day.
