Yaniece's Spring Trends Picks

Tyra's Stylist Yaniece Says: Time to get inspired!!!!! I know you're wondering why I'm talking about spring trends when some places in the country are still experiencing cold weather. Well, for one thing, the styles are already in stores and if you snooze you'll definitely lose out on some of the hottest trends of the season. So here are my top fashionable picks:

Do the ruffle thing. Lots of texture – rosettes, and rows and rows of ruffles. It's feminine and modern when paired with a monochromatic silhouette.

Oh Natural

Tyra's Hair Stylist Lawrence Says: Caring for natural hair is not as hard as you think. More and more people are embracing their chemical free hair, and are doing it with grace.

I will say, "it does require maintenance," but once you figure out what works for you, it becomes a piece of cake.

The best tip for getting a style that works, is to select products that work with your hair type. A little research is required. Whether your tresses are curly, wavy, straight or wirey, just embrace what you have!

It's Party Time!

Thomas Tyra's Stylist Yaniece Says: The Holiday season is finally here...so I bet you're wondering, "What should I wear to the Holiday party?" Well, here are a few of my suggestions for a relaxed look and all out glam style.

A great velvet jacket is a classic holiday fav. You can create an evening suit look by layering the jacket with a fancy cami and nice pants, or even a pair of denim jeans. You can also wear the jacket as a layering piece over a feminine chiffon dress...fabulous!

A new look for this season is the bubble skirt. This mini skirt is a playful addition to your wardrobe, trendy with its voluminous shape. It may not be a great shape for every body type, but it can look truly elegant with the right blouse. My suggestion is a brocade top. Hotness!

Another great look for the season is the Lame dress. It's very feminine and gives you the glitzy holiday feeling.

Finally the old faithful - the pencil skirt. I love them. I suggest you purchase a satin pencil skirt, paired with a faux fur and bustier. Very old Hollywood!

Eliminate Shine & Make Your Makeup Last

Frazier Tyra's Makeup Artist Valente Says: Have excessively oily skin and want your makeup to last all day? Try Milk of Magnesium. Why the white chalky concoction? Well, it's excellent for absorbing oil and keeps the skin matte. You don't want to apply this over your entire face. Start by using a wedge shaped sponge to apply Milk of Magnesium to your "T-zone" (the most common area for oiliness). Need help finding your "T-zone"? It's the center of the face: forehead, nose, chin and sometimes the cheeks. Be sure to apply a thin layer of the Milk of Magnesium to a clean, oil free, moisturized face. Allow the solution to dry for one to two minutes, then apply your foundation and powder atop - don't worry, it won't change or discolor your foundation.

Important Tip: Do not wear Milk of Magnesium without applying makeup on top of the product, or else you'll be a chalky mess!

Find the Perfect Holiday Red

Frazier Tyra's Makeup Artist Valente Says: Add fire to your holiday makeup with fiery hot red lips. It might seem like mission impossible, but there is a red for everyone. To find your perfect shade, lets start with your undertone.

- For olive undertones, try an orange or coral based red.

- Yellow or golden undertones can wear brown based reds.

- For rudy or pinkish undertones, try a blue based red.

- However, brownish reds can pretty much be worn by everyone.

Before applying lipstick, place foundation and powder over the lip to prevent lipstick from traveling outside of the lip line. Apply a red lip liner in a shade that compliments your tone over the entire lip, then apply lipstick over top. The line will help the lipstick stay longer.

Special Tip: Stay away from alcohol based lip glazes promising to make lipstick last longer -- they can actually dry out the lips.

Choosing the Perfect Hairstyle

Lawrence Tyra’s Hair Stylist Lawrence Says:
There are so many ways to style hair. If you like yours short, there is a style for you. If you prefer long hair, there is one for you too. Whatever you desire - it is possible. However, everyone's face shapes are not created equal.

Some faces are round, some are angular, some are thin and some are soft. A hairstyle can accentuate or draw away from certain facial characteristics, so be mindful to do a little research before chopping it off or adding it on.

Things to Keep In Mind:

If You Have A Round Face:Putting a side part in the hair will slim and lengthen a face that's too round.

If You Have A Thin face: Fullness or curls at the side should widen a long face.

If You Have A High Forehead: Full bangs can balance the face.

If You Have A Low Forehead:Vertical bangs and a little fullness at the crown will lengthen the face.
