Mothers On the Brink

ml logo.jpg Psychotherapist and MomLogic.com contributor, Jill Spivack, offers these tips on how to stay sane when transitioning into motherhood.

1) Prioritize what absolutely needs to be done. Don't worry about things like returning phone calls or thank you notes. And remember to ask for help with stuff around the house. Focus on the baby and yourself.

2) Sleep when the baby sleeps. It's easier said than done but is VERY important. You need sleep in order to care for your child with love and patience.

3) Get realistic about how your body has changed. Don't expect to bounce back like Angelina Jolie! It takes time to get back in shape.

Understanding Transgender Youth

transsexualyouth.jpg Gay, lesbian and bisexual people seldom appear physically different from straight people. Transgender people must go through a process of transition where they might have difficulty “passing” as their correct gender. They can opt for surgery and/or hormone therapy to better align their physical bodies with their correct gender; changes can be made to names and identifying documents. This can eventually provide them with a way to pass as a biological male or female.

The following websites are resources for transgender youth:
