When you're at a party, or just hanging out, it's possible that someone may slip something into your drink that causes you harm. In some cases, you may not even remember what's happened to you. Often, the fact that victims can't remember details, or identify the person who committed the assault is appealing to rapists. Among the immediate affects of ingesting the drug are feelings of intoxication, muscle relaxation, and drowsiness. A person under the influence may exhibit slurred speech, impaired judgment, and difficulty in walking. The drug causes temporary amnesia, whereby an individual is unable to remember events they experienced while under its effects.
