HEY TYRA,
MY NAME IS VELIA AND AM 17. I HAVE A 2 SISTERS A 20 AND A 16 YEAR OLD, I HAVE A 14 YEAR OLD BROTHER,A LOVING STEP DAD AND THE MOST AMAZING MOST PRECIOUS MOTHER IN THE WORLD... I LOVE MY MOM FOR HOLDING ON. SHES HAD ALLOT OF STRUGGLES IN HER LIFE, AT THE AGE OF 10 SHE WAS RAPED BY HER COUSIN AND ENDED UP PREGNANT BUT WHEN SHE GAVE BIRTH THE BABY PAST AWAY.SHE WAS FORCED TO WORK SINCE SHE WAS 5 AND THEN AT THE AGE OF 14, FORCED TO MARY MY REAL DAD.I KNOW ITS SOME THING SAD TO KNOW,BUT ME AND MY OTHER SISTERS ARE ALL CONCIEVED THROUGH RAPE( AND EVEN THOUGH, MY MOM LOVES US AND WOULD GIVE THE WORLD FOR US) MY LITTLE BROTHER WAS THE ONLY ONE MADE WITH LOVE BUT THAT DOESNT MATTER BECAUSE SHE PLAYS NO FAVORITES.sHE MET MY STEPDAD WHEN SHE WAS PREGNANT OF MY BROTHER AND HE RAISED US LIKE WE WERE HIS DAUGHTERS AND UP TO THIS DAY HE'S OUR ONLY DAD. EVER SINCE I WAS 10 I STARTED TO HELP MY MOM BECAUSE I KNEW WHAT SHE'D GONE THROUGH FOR US AND I WANTED TO SHOW HER THAT I WAS GRATEFULL TO HAVE HER. IN THE YEAR 2005 SHE SUFFERED FROM BALPALSY(WHEN SOME OF YOUR BODY BECOMES PARALYSED EITHER FOR A SHORT PERIOD TIME OR PERMANANTLY) WE WOULD GIVE HER MASSAGES 3 TIMES A DAY AND HELP HER EAT, THANKFULLY THE BALPALSY WENT AWAY.BUT LATER THAT YEAR SHE GOT A HEART ATTACK. SHE STAYED IN THE HOSPITAL FOR 2 WEEKS. I WENT TO VISIT HER EVERY DAY AND EVER SINCE THE DAY SHE WAS RELEASED FORM THE HOSPITAL I HAVE TRIED MY HARDEST TO NOT MAKE HER MAD AND TO MAKE HER PROUD OF ME. I LOBE MY MOMMY SO MUCH I WOULD GIVE THE WORLD FOR HER... MY MOM COULD NEVER IMAGINE HOW MUCH I APPRECIATE HER AND LOOK UP TO HER BECAUSE ANY BODY IN HER PALACE WOULD HAVE ALREADY GIVEN UP. I LOVE MY MOM FOR TRING HER HARDEST TO GIVE US A BETTER LIFE THAN WHAT SHE HAD, AND EVERY TIME SHE COMES HOME ALL TIRED AND DIRTY FROM WORKING HARD IN THE FIELDS I WANT TO CRY...I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SUPPORT HER AND TO FINALY LET HER REST... WHEN I SEE HER STRUGGLING WITH THE BILLS I WANT TO BE ABLE TO PAY THEM OFF FOR HER...AND THATS WHY WHEN I SEE HER CRY I WANT TO TAKE AWAY HRE PAIN...I WISH I COULD GIVE MY MOM THE WORLD IN A GOLD PLATE...HECK IF I COULD I WOULD ALSO GIVE HER THE STARS... I LOVE MY MOM FOR HOLDING ON...I LOVE HER FOR MAKING ME SMILE WHEN I'M MAD AND HAPPY WHEN I'M SAD...I LOVE MY MOM BECAUSE IF IT WEREN'T FOR HER I WOULDN'T KNOW THE VALUE OF MY LIFE...I'M NOT JUST SAING THIS I MEAN EVEY WORD...AND JUST TINKING OF EVERY THING MY MOMS WENT THROUGH AND COMPARING IT TO WHAT SHE HAS MAKES ME WANT TO CRY...BECAUSE SHE DESERVES BETTER... SHE DESERVES TO GO ON WITHOUT WORING ABOUT IF THERE'S GOING TO FOOD ON THE TABLE...AND MY MAIN GOAL IN LIFE IS TO MAKE SOMEONE OUT OF MYSELF SO THAT MY MOMMY CAN BE PROUD OF ME AND THAT WHEN THE DAY COMES FOR HER TO LEAVE SHE CAN LEAVE WITH KNOWING THAT EVERY THING THAT SHE DID PAYED OFF AND THAT I APPRECIATE EVERY THING SHES DONE FOR ME AND MY SISTERS,BROTHER AND DAD.I WANT MY MOM TO KNOW THAT SOMEDAY SHELL HAVE HER HOUSE AND SHELL HAVE HER CAR...I'LL MAKE SURE OFF THAT.
TYRA... AND THATS WHY I LOVE MY MOM

Dear Tyra Banks,
Let me first just introduce myself. I am the son of the strongest mother of the world. I wouldn`t trade this throne for anything in the world. I`m ten years old and my name is Sadaab Rahman. I live in the best place in the world. Nonother than New York City. First, I just want to tell you how much I`m honored to talk to you. Its such a pleasure. My mom`s name is Srabanti Munshi and she sees your show everyday its on. Its on her daily schedule. She is the best mom in the world. Let me get to the point now. My mom had been diagnosed with Kidney Disease. This caused her both of her kidneys to fail. She is currently on dialysis for eight years. She is still doing dialysis and she cannot tolerate it any longer. She goes to dialysis 3x a week or even more for extra treatments and four hours a day. Even if she can`t,she cooks, she does everything that keeps the household running. Its really hard on her. She is the strongest woman I ever saw or heard of. Theres no way to describe how she runs herself and she will do anything for us. Unlike any dialysis patient, she doesn`t sleep. She made so many life sacrifice just to get us on this planet. Trust me,you will never meet anyone like her. She is the most kind-hearted person in the world. She is the soul and heart of the family and the family will not run without her. Recently, her doctors told her to get a kidney transplant as soon as possible. She has been witnessing side effects like anmnesia. I have 2 brothers by the names of Sadiq Rahman and Sadat Rahman. Sadiq is my elder brother. He is thirteen years old and Sadat is 11 years old. Their birthdays are coincedentally on the same day. Their birthday is on May 2 this year. They each want the same thing. That is that god send an angel from the sky to help my mom. Please make this possible. Your our only hope. Further more,I have a grieving father who can`t even imagine a day without my mom. My father`s name is Ashraf Bhuiyan. He is depending on you. Please help our family. Just to let you know my parents are from the country of Bangladesh. My mom got a scholarship to the best school in London,UK. Its called LSE(London School of Economics). She got several degrees and then came to the USA,seeking a better future for us kids. They risked it all for us. Now all those acomplishments will perish away. Please save my mom! I know you can make a difference. Please don`t let my brothers down and especially my father. Just writing this letter to you about my mom is making tears flow through my face. Tyra, I actually want to see my mom healthy again. Please would you help? She is my life and my everything. Please don`t let her be snatched away from me. Thats all I have in this world. God bless you! Thanks for your time and cooperation,
Your 10 year old friend,
Sadaab Rahman :)
P.S-Please can you respond as soon as possible by via-email or phone number(optional).

Dear Tyra,
My mom is the best mom in the world. Her heart is bigger then you could imagine. She has not only been a mother to me but she has also been a mother to all of my friends. She has raised many children being family members and foster children. She never thinks twice about opening her home for people and children in need. Although she has always taken care of other people and children, I've never question her love, affection, and attention. With all the children and people coming in and out of our home, she always made time for me and my brother.
No one never knew which children were her bilogical children and which were her foster children.
I remember I got a call from one of my police friends about a young lady and her baby who were homeless. My mother did not hesitate to open her doors for that young lady. When I finally moved out on my own she furnished almost my whole apartment. She is always there for me and her grandchildren. She is loving, sweet, kind, and strong. Her ability to overcome a drug addiction and raise 2 children plus many more on her own is amazing. I am proud to call her my mother.

Tyra,
I just wanted to tell you about my amazing mother since mother's day is just around the corner....oh gosh, where do I begin? My mother simply astounds me with her perserveering optimism despite all the hardships she has faced throughout her life. As a child, she was molested by family members, and as a teenager she was raped countless times by trusted friends. As an adult, she has overcome ovarian cancer and a recent divorce with my father, which is still a daily struggle for her. My mother works 6 days a week to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. On her one day off, she spends the day cleaning the house so it can look presentable for others. She is an amazing woman, and I can only aspire to be like her when I grow up. She is the most positive person I know, and even when faced with devestating circumstances, she hangs her head high, and looks forward to the future. She is my hero! Thank you for making it possible to write about how remarkable she truly is. -Amber

Hey Tyra!!!!!!!!
Well, my biological mum died when I was thirteen,i'm 22 now and my aunt took me in and I was my mums’ only child who had no idea who her dad was. My aunt had to endure all my teenage mood swings and we didn’t get along too well. She had problems with her husband but I wasn’t aware and I only realize now that all I did was heap problems on top of other problems and that was rather insensitive of me. So my aunt has been my mother in so many ways than one. I actually call her mum and sometimes forget she’s my mothers’ sister, I love her so much and only wish she knew. She left the country and is now staying in Europe working her life away so that she can take care of us,some of the jobs she does she wouldn't do hem back here and she's humbling herself so that she can make us happy by providing for us,that is, me and my cousins and I would really like to wish her a happy mothers’ day because she’s really an extra-ordinary woman. I’m from Zimbabwe, thank you Miss Banks for your show.

Howdy Tyra,
Well, where should I begin? Let me tell you a little about me, just so that you can become more familiar with who is writing to you. My name is Naissa, and I am an 18 year old girl from an incredibly small town in South Texas. I am the oldest of three children, and we belong to the best mother any child could ever ask for.
I know it's really cliche for any child to say that they have the best parent on the face of the earth, but in this case, I honestly believe that I do. My mom's name is Albie, and she is by far the strongest woman that I know. She has been in education for about 17 years, and she doesn't let her past get in the way of motivating the kids at the middle school she loves. When my mom was a child, she lost her father at the tender age of 7. She was the youngest of seven children, and although she was only the baby, it was as if the weight of the entire family was on her shoulders. During the end of her senior year, she lost her older brother to a water accident. When she tells me these stories, she tries so hard not to let her emotions get the best of her. But regardless, I know she's human, and when I see her cry, I see that she is still hurting from the struggles she's faced growing up.
When I was 11, my parents divorced. I will admit that I thought she was the most horrible person in the world for telling me what she was doing, but somehow, I knew it was for the better. I have never been a "Daddy's Girl," and was always so much closer to my mother, so I do feel a strong bond and connection with her that will always remain regardless of where I am, or whether or not my mom is angry at me. During the period of the divorce, my mom filed for bankruptcy, and was on the verge of selling our home. About a year later, her and I came home from school early one day because I was sick, and to our dismay, we came home to find that our house had been violated. Everything in our home was upside down. I kept thinking why anybody would want to come into our home. We don't live in the "rich" neighborhoods, so the idea that our house was targeted left us dumbfounded. The most painful part of the situation, though, was that whoever came into our home left with the jewelry that my mom kept in her safe. You see, my grandparents passed away when I was 5, 8, and 11. So by the time of the break in, they were all deceased. The items that my mom kept in the safe were the last that she had that reminded her of her mother. The fact that they made off with $12,000 worth of jewelry was NOTHING compared to their personal value, because that is something you just CANNOT replace. Hearing her cry at night was horrible. I couldn't imagine losing something as sentimental as she did when she saw her safe open and empty. The courage she mustered up tp tell my younger siblings what happened was unbelievable. She never let them forget how much she loved them, and could not express that she would do anything to protect them, enough.
Needless to say, exactly a month after that incident, my mom recieved news that she needed surgery to have a thyroid tumor removed from her throat. When she told me that she would be gone for about a week, I had never been so scared in my life. She told me that she knew I would be alright taking care of my siblings, but I couldn't help but fear that my mom was not going to come back the same. While my mom was away, she found the strength to call us every morning at 6 on the dot to wake us up for school, even though she was not suppose to speak at all.
You see, Tyra, what I am trying to express is that my mom NEVER puts herself before anybody. She is willing to sacrifice something beneficial to her for the sake of somebody else. I cannot understand how somebody who has been through hell and back, and overcome SO many obstacles still be going through so many burdens in life. She recently started taking radiation therapy for the same thyroid I mentioned earlier. I heard her crying the other day because she said her hair was starting to get dry due to the radiation pills. I couldn't help but breakdown. Why? Why does she still live paycheck to paycheck? Why is she still dealing with so many health cdoncerns? Why hasn't she lived a life that she deserves? A life of happiness and financial freedom for everything that she has gone through.
I wouldn't dare let my mom read this letter, though. She finds nothing special about herself at all. In fact, she questions whether or not she is a good mother. She's constantly telling me that she doesn't blame me for being bitter because she knows I was forced to grow up too fast. However, she quickly forgets that when I am having the worst day, she is the only one who can make me feel better. She forgets that at the end of the day, only her comfort is what will get me through to tomorrow. And most of all, she VERY QUICKLY forgets that she has raised three children on her own, and did a damn good job of it.
So what am I to do? How am I suppose to repay someone for giving me gifts and blessings that are virtually impossible to compete with? You can't simply say "thank you" when somebody gives you the gift of independednce. The gift of love. The gift of life.
My mother is a beautiful person, Tyra. Inside and out. She is one of the few people who can actually say she has changed lives without even realizing it. She's my best friend, regardless of what our differences are. I have promised myself that one day I will give my mother the life that she deserves, and a house in New York. She has always wanted to go there, and still hasn't. But I will, one day. Everything my siblings and I have done in our lives, we do to make her proud. We aren't perfect, and she could have easily given up on us, especially me, but she didn't. She pushed me further and made me realize that my mind, and my morals are things that nobody can take away. I fear less because of her, and I am stronger because of her guidance and inspiration. My mom is not only my mom, or my best friend. She's my life. She's the rock that holds our small family together. Where we would be without her? I have no idea, and it's something that I refuse to imagine. I love her with everything that I have. She's my heart, my soul, my everything.
Mom, you really don't know what a blessing you are. As a mother, and as a friend. People you have encountered in life have stumbled upon a miracle, and I hope you realize what a treasure you truly are. I love you. *our sign*
Thank you for letting me write this Tyra, and I do hope you read this and acknowledge the wonderful mothers that our world has been blessed with. And in case you don't read this Tyra, I just want to say "Hi" to all the Tyra fans writing about their moms.
Take care all, and God Bless.

Dear tyra, My family moved here from mexico and so far everything was well in our lfe. As i got into high school i started out great good grades and friends. But as my jouior year came i guesse you could say i took some wrong turns, i did drugs and other stupid things. My mom has always been their for me she has suported all my stupid actions. As i got to my Senior year i met this guy and well the next thing i knew i was pregnat i know this is common for a teenager to get pregnat but i guesse that i never looked at thier point of view and see all the hurt you do to people that are around you. It was hard for me to tell my mom i felt like i let her down and i really wanted to just die along with my baby. But she watched me close and said that she will always be there for me no matter what that i have not diapointed her in any way and that life happens and god has this planed out for me. My mom is truly special she has suffered so much with my dad and is still standing strong and taking every painful hit that life throws at her.
To me she deserves the world and so much more.

Dear Tyra,
Hi. I know this is the part where I'm supposed to brag about my mother, but in my case, it's about my grandmother. My grandmother has always put herself on the back burner to make sure my little cousin and myself were well taken care of. She never had much money but my cousin and I never wanted for anything. While I was living out of state she made sure my apartment was fully furnished on her budget which wasnt much at the time because she was paying for her place and everything else. I argued with her constantly about it but in the end she did what she wanted, haha. I threw my back out one weekend while I was living out of state and she arrived 2 days later by Greyhound. That trip was not an easy one for her, with her replacement hip & health issues, she was on that bus for 14 hours. She made sure all my bills were taken care of while I was out of work due to my injury and she made sure my apartment was in order and there was food in my fridge. She has always made sure I went to my doctors and she even went into the exam rooms with me so she knew what was going on. I moved back to Az because I was getting worried about her health. She had a few surgeries and one of them, she woke with a bad blood clot in her leg a few days later. Back in 2005 she had a massive stroke the day before Valentines. It destroyed 90% of the left side of her brain, the stress from the stroke even cased a heart attack. We didn't think she was going to make it through the night. She can no longer speak, and the right side of her body is completely paralyzed. She was finally able to eat pureed food on Thanksgiving '07. Even though she can't speak she still manages to communicate what she wants. At a Christmas '07 party she even made sure I ate, and I had to eat until she gave me the "okay" to stop, haha. She is talking but in very short bursts but she can now manage to get single words out. She has a 1 year old great grandson that she has never even seen yet. She just turned 83 in January. I hope my will is as strong as hers when I'm her age.

Dear Tyra
Hi my name is Tatiana capote .I am 15 and live in a small town called Cooper City .Its midnight now and I am being very sneaky by writing this letter behind my moms back !I am writing to you because I want to give my mom a special shout out. My mom Lourdes is a mother of 3 and has been the biggest motivation for me. At age 2 I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and some days are hard to move .Despite the circumstance every single day she pushes to get up and try my hardest and to always have faith in my self. My parents have always instilled good things like that to us kids but About 3 years ago my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer .Her whole life changed . She even had to remove one of her breast. She also lost her hair, and as sick as she was she was she would always crack a funny joke or complement my shoes or do anything to make me and my siblings smile. She now more then ever encourages me my sister my brother and my dad to live very day like it was are last and to cherish life. My mom last year had a surgery to reconstruct her missing pieces and still everything isn’t right .I sometime sense her a little frustrated with the fact that she looks a little different and I want to cheer her up .My family and I are so appreciative of her and I really cant imagine life with out her .She lights up my life . I feel like words cant even express how much I love her .So can you help me Tyra and give my mom the best mothers day gift ever ?
Thanks you sooo much,
Tatiana
P.S. You are also an inspiration to girls every where. You’re strong and classy and so smart and down to earth. I hope you get a Emmy !

Hey Tyra, firstly I must say that I thank God each day for blessing me with a strong, honest, God Fearing mother who has always done her best for me. I am 19 and all my life i guess i always knew my mama was special. Howeva over the last couple years we've grown to be close friends. She's the person i trust most in this world, the one who always tells me the truth even if its not what i want to hear. My mom has faced many trials from domestic abuse and a failed marriage but some how come out of it a better person. She is my best friend and I LOVE HER DEARLY. Words can never express the grattitude i hold in my heart for this special woman(Hilary M.Twitz)she continues to guide, support, love me through all that i do. My life's goal is to not to simply make her proud, but in all that i accomplish, acknowledge her along with God for it, because I truly know WITHOUT HER STRENGTH, LOVE, and GRACE, i'd have nothing and i'd be no one. I love you mom...happy mother's day

Sup' tyra? ♥
I'm 17 and i live in the Bronx. I HAVE* to give a shout out to my mom [FATIMA] ♥ because not only is she a great mother but she is my*bestest friend* She struggled so much as a single parent with me and my younger sister. I look up to her as my hero and she inspires me everyday to reach my goals. She is strong, positive, independent, and a supportive mother.
She guides me with advice and always provides her shoulder to lean on. ;] Even after all the obstacles life's thrown at our family she's managed to bring us back up. She is my idol and I'm sure everyone's mother is also. At least we have a day that its all about them but for me its mothers day everyday. I love my mother and she loves your show even though she's not that good with English ;) To all mothers out there HAPPY MOTHERS DAY && thanks for being such great inspiration.. all mothers deserve a shout out! not just my amazing mother ;]

Tyra my mama is the best mama in the world, hands down! I have always felt so close and comfortable with her to tell her everything! She guides me and loves me all into the right decisions and just stands by me to pick up the pieces when I make the wrong ones. She has always given up so much for me and has put herself second to my needs. She has cared about me and been so interested in everything that I am, and supported me to the fullest. She gives me advice even when I didn't know that I needed it! I am in the Navy and am stationed in California and she is in my hometown of St. Louis. It worries me that we may never have the relationship we both so desperately want. The kind of relationship where we can skip work to hang out and drink Pina Coladas together and see when each other gets new towels or repaints the living room. My mama is the best mama eva!!!!!

Hi Tyra my name is Pam and my Mother's name is Virginia. She has been the BEST mama in the world. A couple of years ago I had to have emergency surgery on my brain and she was there for me every step of the way. My daughter was only 1 and my mother stepped right up to the plate and took care of her and my 13yr old son. My husband and I had only been married 2 months and he was a total reck but My Mom was here for all of Us. She cooked and cleaned. Oh, I forgot to mention she's 67years old. So I would like to take this time to say THANK YOU to my mother Virginia Sanders. I Love You Always.

Love Leanda

Tyra,
I just wanted to tell you about my amazing mother since mother's day is just around the corner....oh gosh, where do I begin?

Howdy Tyra,
Well, where should I begin?
I love you. *our sign*

I'm 17 and i live in the Bronx. I HAVE* to give a shout out to my mom [FATIMA] ♥ because not only is she a great mother but she is my*bestest friend*She struggled so much as a single parent with me and my younger sister. I look up to her as my hero and she inspires me everyday to reach my goals.
She is strong, positive, independent, and a supportive mother. She guides me with advice and always provides her shoulder to lean on. ;]
Even after all the obstacles life's thrown at our family she's managed to bring us back up.
She is my idol and I'm sure everyone's mother is also. At least we have a day that its all about them but for me its mothers day everyday.

Hi Tyra, your show is the best. i am leaving this comment to let you know what a wonderful mom i have. my mom is the best mom in the world, shes been a foster parent for about 20years or better, she never gets any time to do any thing for herself. not only do she have foster kids, she has grandkids also, mind you all the kids are close in age, foster kids are 3 and 7, and the grands are 2 and 6. she takes very good of these kids. the 2 and the 6 year old are my two, but my mom has them alot because i work. I am just trying to do something nice for my mom since she never has time to sit back and have something nice done for her, cause shes always doing for other people. so Tyra if you could do something nice for her that would really make her happy.
