I just came home and caught the tail end of your show "Men's Secret Sex Lives." I just wanted to say that if you want a really interesting perspective of men "looking for" sex outside of a committed relationship you should either read about or have an evolutionary psychologist on the show. Evolutionary psychology is a field that can really shed a light on many issues with very "valid" explinations of the differences between sexes, especially when it comes to affairs. I was reading some of the comments of other people and many of the viewers were curious as to why men are "seeking" these affairs to begin with. Although it may come as a surprise, we humans are not monogamous creatures. Where does fidelity come in then? Well this question and many others can be easily explained in an evolutionary perspective. This is, of course, by no means the only explination but it is a viable, scientific, and as objective as can be appraoch to explaining the differences between the two sexes and how certain "phenomenons" exist because of these differences (like why men cheat more than women, or why there is a double standard for women). So, my point is that you would probably really like this field and it would make a great idea for a different perspective to add to your show.

There's nothing wrong with casual safe sex when both parties have been checked for diseases and its consentual. Brothels or 'cat houses' are just another service provided to people. No worse than internet porn or playboys. As a woman in a commited relationship, I can understand why some women or men wouldn't want their partners to have sex outside of their relationship. To me it isn't really a big deal.

If my boyfriend was cheating on me or paying other women for sex, i would deff want to know. I somehow cant grasp the reason why married men pay for sex in the first place. Hi Tyra! I wanted to jump on the bandwagon and enter a comment too!! (just like everyone else) But you know, I am so divided on this. The guy that was on your show was a little over the top. I mean your viewers could tell he was still proud of what he did. And the cute blonde woman, well she seemed happy with and proud of what she does. I think what is really scary to women is that we don't know 100% that our man is not cheating us (whether it be an escort or his secretary) How do we ever know? How does he ever know that we aren't doing the same thing? I know women who cheated on their husbands before, just as I know men who do it. I don't condone cheating and I don't understand why anyone would. If a person isn't getting enough from their wife/husband, then why are they with them? This show puts us all in a vulnerable place, it makes us think about our relationships and about the times that our man is at the office or out and about. It makes evaluate whether or not we think that he would cheat on us. I think that is why some people commented on how much they hated the show... It's not fun to think about the person you love the most betrayinng your trust. My husband is gone all of the time on deployments and such with the Navy and I sure don't want to think about him porting in other countries and sleeping with a prostitute. But it is important for men and women to analyze their relationships and work on them. Cheating is an action that a person takes and it is not necessarily one persons' fault. It is both people most of the time, because people aren't willing to talk about their weakness, especially not their tendencies of having an affair. I would like to comment on your show "Men's Secret Sex Lives" while I think that it is important to expose the prostitution and the reasons for engaging in it I think it is more important to examine how our society views prostitution. One of the guests mentioned that we (as North Americans) view prostitution as a minor crime. Why is treating a woman's body like a commodity not a crime?
Secondly, it would have been good if you had raised the issue of human trafficking into the commercial sex industry. Women are trafficking to the United States, Canada, Europe and other industrialized countries and are forced and coerced into sexual slavery. I call it sexual slavery because these women are held in brothels against their will and are forced to see as many clients as their proprietor deems necessary. These women are rarely paid and are often held in inhumane conditions with no freedom. Some men abuse and humiliate the women that they encounter through performing sexual acts that the women are not comfortable with. This is a crucial issue facing North America that men as well as women need to be aware of. The sex industry is not always as it seems and our society perpetuates beliefs that women need to cater sexually to their man in order to keep him from straying. What really is needed is a shift in how sex is conceptualized.
Thirdly, the issue of the age of many women in the commercial sex industry is concerning. While child prostitution is not as prevalent in the United States, men from the U.S. as well as other industrialized nations visit places such as Thailand in order to have sexual encounters with children (boys and girls). This is another issue that could be addressed along the same lines of today's show.
Prostitution, porn and escort services are turning women's bodies into commodities that can be bought, sold and discarded. I think it's about time we as a society of men and women take a look at why this has become a socially acceptable practice and how to ensure that women are treated fairly and justly in the system so that their rights are respected and can be defended.

I LOVE your show I make sure to watch however i hated this episode. The first reason was the assumption that many women if not all in the industry are "damaged". I myself would never do it but i believe that a woman can be apart of that industry and not be damaged just like the woman you showed from the bunny ranch. I also was disappointed that you kind of only showed "high power men", I believe that there is a big difference between blue collar and "high power". I also wished that you would have done more to provide information on both sides rather than perpetuating misconcieved and misguided ideologies about the industry and those who choose to partake in it!

Today's episode sickened me. All of these people saying that it is okay to cheat with a prostitiute because "there is no emotional attachment" are seriously deluded. What has this world come to that we condone these behaviors? So a man has stress at home, feels neglected by his wife, blah blah blah...so this gives him the right to defile the sanctity of marriage? If he wasn't willing to stand by his vows, he should never have gotten married in the first place. You work out your problems at home, not with a "nameless" women who is willing to be with you for a few hours. Hello Tyra, I'm writing this as I'm watching your show today 4/10/08 in reference to men's secret sex lives. Several comments were made by your guest the (former pimp) as well as Spirit (the phycologist). Both individuals made some very precise comments in reference to why men continue to use such services. However neither told the complete un-cut truth. That to me is the problem, and the why men continue to risk everything for moments of pleasure. I'm speaking from experience here. First and formost sex is, if good to the parties involved can be highly addictive. Sex is also contolled by women. I am willing to bet it all that 90 percent of men who part-take in such activities are'nt fully happy at home. Keep in mind I'm not just speaking sexually. Real men go out, bust their tail for their families only to be second to their children, and society. The phrase women and children first comes to mind. It's not about power, or the ability to get away with it. It's about a man getting what he wants when he wants it. A real man goes to work, pays the bills, helps in the raising of his children, showers his lady ocassionally with gifts, flowers, and kind words. Only to be put on the back-burnner for sex with his wife, girlfriend and etc. Alot of women are in denial about the sex in their relationships. I man that cheats, besides simply being greedy, considers the several times he's wanted to be intimate an the expense of his lady being tired, from working as well, or having a greater role with the children.
