My name is Odessa Lewis; I’m a sophomore in college and a very talented, aspiring actress. I have older three brothers and an older sister, two of my brothers also attends college. My siblings and I owe everything to our loving, caring, and wonderful mother. From the long lectures to the painful, but needed, whooping we received from our mother when we did something we knew not to do; my mother, Rose Marie Lewis, is one of the best mothers in the world. Her and my father has been faithfully married for twenty-four years and this June on the 23 is their twenty-fifth anniversary. I have a true mother. She’s a mother first and then a friend when I need one. My mother went to college for child care and every since I can remember she has been taking care of children. She use to work in a day care center but she twisted her ankle. She slipped in some water at the day care center and to keep from falling on the kids she turned away from them while coming down and that’s what twisted her ankle. So she was forced to stop working, but that didn’t stop her from taking care of kids. About five years ago, my mother took in her niece, who was in an abusive home, and she now has custody of her. Our house is like the neighborhood runaway center. We don’t actually have runaway kids but a lot of kids come over to our house for short visits and they never want to leave. They all love my mother. The young ones call her grandma and the older ones call her mom. I am a true believer of the statement everything happens for a reason but when my mother was diagnosed with both diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis on top of her heart problem. I didn’t understand why this was happening to her. Then I came to the conclusion that maybe God just wants me to what a true fighter she is. My mother is a very strong black woman, a true definition of the perfect mother. Growing up we, like many other families, had our tough times; but the love that our mother had for us was so strong that we didn’t realize how poor we were until we got older and started to reminisce. I wouldn’t trade my mother for the world. When I become a successful actress I am going to shower with everything she has ever wanted but until then I would like for you Tyra to do something special for her. She absolutely loves your shoe; I do too but you’re like Oprah to her.

Hey there! My name is Shayla, I am from Cabot Arkansas. I would like to enter my mom. She has been through so much for me since I was 17 years old. I met this guy who I was so in love with him and so I got pregnant and we moved in together and ended up getting married not on my mothers terms though. ended up him cheating on me and kicking me out of our home and my mom was there for me though i had not had my daughter yet, we got back together and he ended up doing some bad drugs and being caught by the police and he had me caught in that kind of seen my mom was there to help me make sure i didn't go to jail for something he had done. i am now 20 years old raising my daughter on my own with out any kinds of help i have a full time jobn and i am also in college full time. She is there every minute to watch my daughter and i do pay her 25.00 a week for watching my daughter just to say thank you even though she of all people would do it for free but she has put her time and so much money out on the line for me that i figured something is better than nothing. but sometimes i feel like she deserves more for what she does. She is a "stay at home mom" she has a wonderful husband that has served in Iraq 3 times now and has been there here resently. She stuck by him while he was over sea's and still kept up all the wifey and husbands job... she is also taking care of my dad's mother who is mentally ill.... i just wish that this mothers day would be the best for her.

Dear The Amazing Tyra,Before I began I would just like to thank you. You really inspire me each and every day. I love you. But My 'angel' mother is my world. My biological parents had a big problem with drugs, and growing up we were basically on our own. We had no food, no electric, my parents were never home, and slowly our belongings started to dissapear. I have two brothers and one sister, all younger then me, and all we had was eachother. So I have always had to take care of them. I had to miss school to make sure they got up and ready for thier school day. I worked at night, and sometimes had to walk home in the night, in the dark. I soon realized that loving them and bringing home 100 dollars a week was not enough to help them. So as a junior in high school i moved out to try and better my self and to help support my siblings. My plan was to live with my boyfriend who cheated on me day in and day out..what can i say..i thought i was smart! But that obviously didnt work out. So needless to say, A complete stranger took me in, and helped me to finish high school, taught me to drive, taught me all those adolecent things, loved me, and was there for me more then anyone ever was. She helped me enroll in college, and taught me that its ok to hurt, and its ok to love. Shes an amazing women. She is amazingly strong, has 3 degrees, owns a business, and also has a 10 year old daughter, Bridget, my little sister. I would just really love the chance to thank her..and if possible her husband too for EVERYTHING they have done for me. I love them and they are my angels.

First let me say how much I enjoy your show. I enjoy the fact that you keep it real and aren't "scripted" when it comes to talking to people about your life. I am sending this email to enter my mom into your Mother's Day giveaway. I don't have enough time to tell you all that my mother has done but here are just some of them: My mother is an awesome mother,grandmother, and wife. She assists my brother in raising his 4 yr old son while he works long hrs. to provide for them. She is almost my nephews mother in the way that she takes care of him. My mother works an 8 hr shift herself and then of course her work is never done. About 4 yrs ago, my grandmother passed away. All of my grandmother's properties were left to my mother to care for due to the fact that my mom was the only child who lived in the same state as my grandmother. She deals with unpaying or late paying tenants all the time! My mother cares for my dad, my brother, and my nephew,along with caring for my grandmother's many properties. She gives selflessly and tirelessly of herself, all while enduring the almost daily pain of a slipped disk!! She encourages me on a daily basis while I deal with the issues of a college student. She very, very rarely gets a chance to finish the daily work that she has to do, let alone just have time to herself. Tyra please help me and my family show my mom just how much she is appreciated and loved and deserving of this. Thank you so much!

This year I would love to give my mother a wonderful mother's day gift, but unfortunately I have been out of work for almost 5 months. I am a graduating senior and a single mother. Because I am in school and unemployed my mother has been helping me pay my bills and continually keeps me encouraged. I feel bad because I have no way to repay her for what she has done for me. Not only has she sacrificed her money, but also her health. In December of last year my brother was in a terrible car accident that put him in a coma, thankfully he came out of the coma and is doing better. But my mother sacrificed having a major surgery just to be there for my brother. Since then she has had here surgery, but had not had the chance to relax. She has had to travel back and forth to make sure that my brother is getting the therapy he needs. My mother is a selfless citizen and deserves a long over due vacation. Please help me make this true for my mother.

Words can not express how much I trully can say that I am lucky to have my mom. I try my very best to make sure that Mother Day is celebrated each day that she is with me. Tara my mom was not able to send her children to college because of finanical reasons. But she has work each day goinf forward to make sure that her grandchildren can go to college. She has already been able to see one graduate from college and if God spears her life she will be able to see two more graduate in 2010 and one in 2011 and one in 2012.
There is so much that I would love to see my mother enjoy in life, but she says that she is working to put in grands through college right now. Tara I justed wanted to let you know how special my Mom is.

I just have to say I LOVE YOUR SHOW! I watch it everyday! Anyways I was wondering if you could help me out for Mothers day? My mom is an absolutely AMAZING person and never does anything for herself. She has been through so much. Cancer, very bad illnesses and now continues to live with back pain. Not only has she struggled with all of that she continues to give back and is always helping everyone. My mother only thinks of others! She has raised 5 kids and home schooled 3 of us! Two of which she adopted! Later she took on a foster child. My mother did daycare for over 20 years and watched so many children just so she could stay at home with us! She definitly isn't appreciated as much as she should be! I can not tell you how much she has done for me and my family let alone so many other people. She is a very giving person and now that I am a mother myself I really understand how much she really did!!! PLEASE help me give her the Mothers day that she REALLY deserves!

First and foremost, I love your show. It inspires me everytime I watch it. I can relate to so many of your shows. I have sat here and read so many pleas for help for that special Mother's Day gift. At the age of 29, I have recently become a new mother. I always wanted to become a mother and after years of them telling me I couldn't, I became pregnant with my miracle child. I owe all my faith to my mother. When I was young, my mother was in an abusive relationship for seventeen years. (My biological father) He would beat her black and blue and even fall asleep at the wheel because he was too drunk to stay awake and for that, wrecked their car, and my mother flew out the window, barley escaping death. He had since started abuse on my sister and I and that is when my mother had enough. She decided to risk her life once again for her children. She got us away from the abuse and has since married a wonderful man, of which I consider my "father!" She has gone through so much in her life, as such as any loving mother. My father recently fell at work and has broken seven ribs. She struggles everyday just to pay the bills. She hasn't been feeling good herself, and the doctors have run several tests, concluding, she has enternal bleeding somewhere in her body. She has a doctor's apt. tomorrow for a colon exam as well as the tube down her throat. I am not asking for anyone's pitty, just simply a prayer. She is my world. She has been my guardin angel. I want to give her the best Mother's Day gift possible. Please send some suggestions. I hope I can be the very best Mother that she is to me. I pray for her, as well as every other Mother. Then she has my oldest brother who she also got to take care of but he goes to school away so that makes it even harder on her. She work 9pm to 6am in we don’t really have that much time with her until the weekend because she work at night so she's getting her sleep for the next night when we home.
