Hi Tyra
I just want you to know that I have the greatest mom in the world. My mom "Dorothy" has raised me and my two brothers ever since I can remember. I was only four when my mom left Baltimore,Md alone with me and my two brothers because she separated from my father because she found out that he was having an affair with her best friend, anyway, my father had a family with with my mom's best friend.
My mom therefore moved back to Georgia to get us out of the fast city life. Ever since I've known my mom she kept us in church and as long as I can rememeber she has always worked two jobs. My mom taught us strong, strict family values and always instilled in us to do that which was right. I have never to this day saw my mom do anything out of the way that was inappropriate to us such as drink, do drugs, or even bringing men home around us. As long as I can remember mom kept us in church, monday through friday even on school nights and always early on sundays to make sure we went to sunday school.
Through the years mom has always kept the family together. I don't know how she would do it, but she always manage to bail one of us out of financial hardship. I lost my baby brother five years ago due to walking phneumonia and complications to sugar. My mom remained strong through it all, now she has retired from the Bd of Education however she still continues to work her part-time (full time schedule) for the past twenty years. Even through all of this she gets up early every morning to go to my older brother's house to take care of him, (he's disabled and is very sickly suffering from sugar), she does this out of the goodness of her heart to allow my sister-in-law to work. Afterward, she then goes to work at 3pm and comes home at 11pm every night monday through friday and still finds time to go the church in between especially on Sundays's, (bright and early). I tell you isn't my mom the greatest. I love her very much, because she has been a GREAT GRANDMOM to my boys. She deserves the mom of the year award.

My mother is a living inspiration. Always wanting the best for everyone. Through her I've learned how to remain positive through stressful situation, and always be optimistic. I'm my mothers' only child, and growing up she helped take care of me and my many other cousins single handedly. That kept our relationship with each other close like as we were brothers and sisters. When I speak to others about there families, and I find my self grateful that she invested so much of her time in the development of our happiness, and wellbeing. My mother constantly bends over backwards to please, and make others happy. And to me that makes her the greatest mother in the world.

Hello Tyra,
This is coming from a 53 year old dauther of a wonderful mother who I love and cherish. She has been my role model and inspiration.
She came from a large family of 13. They were not rich.
My parents married and my father was drafted in the army. During that time for an Black person the pay was not good. They told me in order to make it my father had to pawn his watch to make sure his family had food and for the babies their baby food
All through our travels, mom held us together. She also encourage us to experience the culture. For instance living in Japan.
But most of all I have wonderful memories of a loving mother that took time with her children. I was blessed to have a stay at home mom.
Today I see a woman of wisdom. Her brothers and sister, neices, nephew, and children call her for advice. My mother thinks little of herself. But I tell her she has a gift from God that gave her wisdom. And a wiz at math (smile)
She is also taking care of her great-granddaugher. My father also. My great neice who is 6 loves them to much. She has told my mom that she did not want them to die. She sees that they are old.
Tyra, I can go on because their is so much wonderful things to say about my mom. One day I would love to tell her story and introduce the world to a wonderful mom.
Thank you for sharing a peice of her.

Hello Tyra
I love you and all that you do. Today I want to talk about my two mom's. My birth mom and my soon to be mother-n-law. They both will go above and behind for me, and the rest of their children or their grandchildren, I can call on them for anything. They will also watch the kids with no problem to give us a break. My mother-n-law gets off work and still take the kids for me if I need her to, or one of the kids call her and ask. They are some of the best mothers I know, but most of all the best grandmothers in the world next to mine. I want to do so much for them and just can't find the funds to show them how much I love them and care for them. They should have the best a mother could have, because they are the best mothers in the world. They will give their last if they know that any of their kids or grandkids need it. My mom has 7 grandkids and she watch them all the time, 5 of which that stays with her. My mother-n-law has 13 grandkids and which 4 of them now stay with her and she has no problem watching them all if need be. So Tyra can you help me give something special to them fo Mother's Day to so my love to them both.
Thank you so much Tyra
And again I love all that you do you are my Idol love ya!!!!!!!

dear tyra:
where can I start i guess i can go on telling you how great my mom is. she is a 75 year old immigrant woman how has struggled in the usa for forty years to make a life for our family. although still with my wonderful and patient father life has brought unexpected changes into our lives which have affected my mom so severely that she now faces a state of depression but refuses to take her medication. we presently reside in orlando, florida moved from queens, ny almost two years ago. my mom being an elderly woman has not adapted to the change of environment and being away from most of our family and for reasons which I cannot go into (because of space and time) is very depressed. we cannot afford moving back to ny and although she is there right now attempting to find a place to live she has realized she cannot afford it and is coming back to live with me. I don't care about me but feel that if her depression continues she will become physically ill and would like to make somewhat of a difference to put a smile on her face once again. She has raised 9 grandchildren and is a great woman as all the above mentioned mothers. I guess what i want to request is for any information which you can facilitate that will allow me attempt to find adequate living arrangement for my parents in NYC it's so hard with the economy but any help with resources would be appreciated.

Hey Tyra, My name is Valerie I want to tell you a little about my mother she is super she is always sacrificing for everyone else last year we buried my son that was my mother’s first grand child. She has taken it very hard. My mother was the last to see him, she has that mother instinct that something bad was going to happen and it did. And to this day that still bothers her. I would like for my mother to win because she deserved that and so much more, but I know that this would be a good start. The Bible tell us "Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you. Hey Tyra! I think what you are doing for our mothers is amazing. I want to tell you a little about my AMAZING mom. She was young, 19, when she had me. My dad wasn't the best at first. He wanted to still be young and have a good time. While he was great to me, he wasn't so well to my mom. He had depleated their savings quite a few times so he could give in to his drug addiction. My mother is the most wonderful person ever. She put up with so much from my dad. And on top of that she was a mother of two working a full time job. I would like to say that my mom and dad are still together. They will be having their 23rd wedding anniversary this May. Adding on to her stress, I recently had my own son and she is also a wonderful grandmother. She is now providing day care for my son when my husband and I are at work. I love her and would like to have something special for her this Mother's day. Help me out, girl!! Ta

I think that this is avery nice gesture; because if we did not have carrying mothers, we would not have the Tyra's of today to be positive rloe models for young girls and m others today. Everyone needs to remember when the father is gone mom is still there. Mothers will lay there life down tor their children.

Dear Tyra,
My mother is a true hero, she's been the inspiration to my life and the support when I need it.
She is the most hard working woman I have ever met, even though she came to our country not knowing any english it did not stop her any, she started working for the Army and Air Force Exchange, and has been there ever since she said she learned english through our soldiers who whenever she had a question about a product she would ask them "how do you say this?"
She also was diagnosed with Colon Cancer about 7 years ago and I thank God she decided to do chemo.
Two years ago I was diagnosed also with Colon Cancer at age 29, she was the support system I needed. She even took time just for me to help me through this difficult time while going through chemo. So this is for her the hero in my life, my mother Natividad.
P.S. I love your show, congrats on the 500th episode.
I admire you and the wonderful woman you are.
Your heart is immense.

Hi Tyra,
My name is Libby and I just wanted to share a story about a wonderful woman I’ve known my whole life; my Mom. My mom had me when she was 40 years old and had 3 more kids’ way before me. My mother has been working since she was eight years old and she has always been a hard worker even before she started working at eight. My mom is daughter number 2 out of 13 kids my grandparents had and wow my mom has told me so many stories of how she helped her parents with all of the other kids being one of the oldest, she would tell me how she helped her parents build their home when she was younger, her face always lit when she told me stories of her working at home and through her life. She’s currently turning 60 in August and let me tell you something Tyra this woman deserves so much more than I can even imagine she is truly a gift from God and a good looking one too. My mom is the only one in my family that works for my dad is disabled for a terrible medical mal practice. My mom has always put herself before others and this year for Mothers day and her 60th Birthday I think it should be all about her. She has done so much for me to see my dreams come true and day by day I am accomplishing them thanks to the help and support of my parents, the only problem is that money is always an issue in life to succeed… why Tyra? My goal is to become a Physician, but it cost a lot of money to go to school I am currently a sophomore in college and it’s only getting harder to pay for everything and I just think it’s so unfair for me to take my mom’s hard earning cash for my dreams, I know that my dreams are hers, but I just wish she could just keep her money and use it up on her, she’s never traveled or spent it on things for herself it has always gone to her kids. I know one day when I become a doctor I will give a lot back to her for she has done so much for me. As I write this I get all chocked up I just want to scream to the world that I Love My Mom and that she is wonderful. I just want people all over the world to recognize everything there parents do for them and to never take them for granted, especially mom’s because even though we put them through so much crap they will always loves us unconditionally.
~A Proud Daughter~

Well Tyra were to begin I am one of seven children. I have two sisters and four brothers. My mom was both mother and father to us all, our fathers were abusive and heavy drinkers so my mother decided she was better off alone with her children than with someone for the wrong reasons. My mother always had two or three jobs just so we would not be on government assistance. There would be times we had to do without and never complained becasue we didn't want my mom to feel bad. Thank God we are all grown up now one has a degree in Crimminal Justice, the other is 49 and will be completing her schooling as a Registered Nurse, the other has a good job at the naval base, my other sister works at a plant, myself well my husband and I have our own Mechanic Shop, one of my younger brothers is a Pediatrican in Houston, TX, and finally my baby bother is a Pharmacutical Tech. We have all accomplished what we have today because my mom always gave of herself, we were always first in her life and she never thought twice about the decisions she made in life. Tyra this is way I feel my mama is the BEST MAMA in the world.

hey tyra,
my name is jennifer.
i'm entering this for my mother, who is absoloutly the most amazing person.
i became pregnant at the age of 15, and despite the fact that I had barely started highschool, and the guy I was dating wasn't exactly prince charming she supported me more than i ever could have imagined.
i was so lucky to be graced with such an understanding loving mother.
the day after my son was born she quit her job to help me take care of him.
she'll run herself ragged for my son and I.
my son is now 9 months old.
i live with both my parents, and my mother is still staying home to help me take care of him.
she watches him, sometimes over night, so I can get a break from teen motherhood.
And she's planning on watching him when I attend college in the fall.
she has shown so much selflessness in the past year, it amazes me.
i hope to be as great of a mother as she is.
If any mother deserves an amazing gift, it's her:)

Dear Tyra,
This year I would love to give my mother a wonderful mother's day gift, but unfortunately I have been out of work for almost 5 months. I am a graduating senior and a single mother. Because I am in school and unemployed my mother has been helping me pay my bills and continually keeps me encouraged. I feel bad because I have no way to repay her for what she has done for me. Not only has she sacrificed her money, but also her health. In December of last year my brother was in a terrible car accident that put him in a coma, thankfully he came out of the coma and is doing better. But my mother sacrificed having a major surgery just to be there for my brother. Since then she has had here surgery, but had not had the chance to relax. She has had to travel back and forth to make sure that my brother is getting the therapy he needs. My mother is a selfless citizen and deserves a long over due vacation. Please help me make this true for my mother.

Please help me make this true for my mother.

hi, tyra my name is veronica i just want to say that my mother is the most unbeliavable mother and father even do i still have my dad but it's like my dad is another son to her he had radiation and some other health problems and my mother thanks to her job my dad had an insurance but didn't cover all so she's paying for all the bills and she's always stressing out and i wish she had like a 1 day spa and relax. i'm scared to think that she can get sick on day she really needs to have a day for herself and not to think about others. sometimes me and her dont' agree in things and we argue alot i love her she's all to me.
i like americas next top model i'm your fan and you know something you inspire me, i like you girl
