Kick the Bottled Water Habit

Americans use 4 million plastic bottles every hour - but only 1 in 4 is recycled. Use straight tap water or home water filters instead, because believe it or not, bottled water isn’t always cleaner, and the production, shipment, and disposal of plastic water bottles are taking an enormous toll on the environment. The whole Ideal Bite team uses non-leaching, lined aluminum SIGG bottles like the one shown.

The Benefits
• Save the 1.5 million tons of plastic expended in the bottling of 89 billion liters of water each year.
• Get rid of contaminants normally found in tap water such as chlorine, cryptosporidium, Giardia, lead and pesticide runoff.
• Save money - check out the Bang for the Bite (left) for the juicy details.
• Filters are a safer bet - up to 40% of all bottled water comes from a city water system, just like tap water.

Not only are you saving waste—you’re saving tons of MONEY. If you ditch just one water bottle a week, you can save close to $100/year!

Hey Tyra let me first say that we love what you do with your show. It so nice to see a fresh new provocative approach to day time talk shows. Now to the point; I love how you encouraged people to steer clear of plastic bottles, however, I find all to often that companies encourage people to recycle what they consume rather then minimizing there consumption. The only way to really have a small carbon foot print is to never take a step in the wrong direction in the first place.

tyra, i am dying to find out about the jeans you wear. i have such a hard time finding the right jeans. can u help me find the perfect jean.
thank you

Hi Tyra! I love your show! You made some great points about ditching the bottle, but it's also important to note that there's so much "stuff" that state agencies allow to remain in our water, like even traces of other people's prescription drugs. THEE absolute best water filtration system (waay cheaper & cleaner even than the much raved-about 'reverse osmosis') is here: http://www.ecoquestintl.com/livelife

Hi Tyra, I have a question for you and most celebrity women. I dont undestand why the women stand with ther legs crossed, Its looks like you need to go to the bath room. Wouldnt one foot directly in front of the other give the same curvy look that being desired or am I wrong

Hey Tyra, I want to start by saying you and your shows are amazing and life changing. OK now I saw the show about male dancers and i was very disapointed by the male dancer that was there he would not cut it on the east coast in D.C., B More or Phily. The male dancers at home meaning D.C. are very very sexy, They make you feel good about being a women you have some that have that bad boy persona and some who are like Mr. GQ. They are worth every penny you spend. They send you home wanting your man. By the way my favorite dancers are The texas outlaw and Body. some of there profiles are on my myspace Ima Do Me or find me on myspace by email nita_2302@yahoo.com.

Great post about water bottles - I personally switched from a Nalgene to a SIGG a few months back and just love how pure the water tastes from it, and the fact that it is so quick and convenient (and healthy) to grab on my way to work or the gym. Plus, you just gotta love the style! I got the most vibrant, pretty blue one, it reminds me of the ocean. Here is a pic of one like mine:

I personally can compltely tell the difference between bottled and tap water, bottled water tastes pure an tap water tastes like tin.

I just finished watching the Amazing Mom episode. I must say all were amazing moms. I was most intrigued by the 60 yr old mom who gave birth to twins.

Tyra, I was very disappointed with your interview with her. You cut her off every time she tried to say something. She was trying to make a point and really didn't because of your interruptions. Short on time maybe...please review and you will see what I mean.
