Celebrate 'The Tyra Banks Show Day!'
When Tyra hit the New York City streets for her 500th episode spectacular she had giving at the top of her mind. So she wasn't expecting the big surprise that NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg had for her. He didn't just declare April 18, 2008 "The Tyra Banks Show" day, he proclaimed it. Check Mayor Bloomberg's official proclamation to find out why even he thinks Tyra is the fiercest act in town!

Whereas: As the media capital of the world and home to an incredibly fashionable population, it's no wonder that New York City has embraced “The Tyra Banks Show” - or that the preeminent glamazon recently moved the program's production to our great city. Today, we are proud to celebrate The Tyra Banks Show's 500th episode!
Whereas: Like so many of our residents, Tyra is fun-filled, but also committed to giving back and building a better future. Not only does her program support our thriving film and television production industry, which supports 100,000 New York jobs and contributes $5 billion to our economy each year - it also tackles important social issues, uplifting guests and audience members alike. And considering our city's aggressive efforts to combat counterfeiting, episodes like "How to Spot a Fake" also make tremendous civic (and aesthetic) contributions.
Whereas: Part of my motivation for honoring Tyra is my hope to become America's Next Top Model (my term ends in just 618 days, and my advisors say I look surprisingly good in heels.) But that's not all. Tyra's style, generosity, and ferocity truly represent the very best our great city has to offer. On behalf of all New Yorkers, here's hoping that her "Made in New York" show will continue creating episodes "all new from the 212" (and 718, 646, 917, and 347) for many years to come.
Now therefore, I, Michael R. Bloomberg, mayor of the city of New York, in recognition of her show's 500th episode, do hereby proclaim Friday, April 18th, 2008 in the city of New York as: "The Tyra Banks Show Day."

I wanted to congratulate you on this very important day. 500 episodes, THATS HUGE!!! Putting a program together and keeping it fresh every time with issues that do effect and touch us as viewers is truly dedication from yourself as well as your fantastic staff. The first 500 episodes have have proven that the formula has been put together with great attention and right on to the pulse of the viewers which should make the next 500 a breeze. I think you are an amazing person and I love to watch your talk show and ANTM. You are an inspiration and a breath of fresh air to everyone's day. I hope all celebrities learn from you and give more, it is getting contagious in Hollywood and NYC and I hope it keeps going because the world will become a better place because of people like you, and all of our children including my son who is in Kuwait right now.

My name is Tee Duch, I'm Cambodian. We moved to New Zealand when I was three yrs old in 1987. Me, my mum and step father. I'v never known my biological father which is very heart breaking.I don't think I'll ever get the chance to meet him. He lives in the US and I'm all the way in New Zealand. I know I have siblings out there too. I'm 23 yrs old now and have two kids. So I don't think I'll have the time to go there and search for him. Even though it breaks my heart, to know I have a biological father and siblings out there somewhere. When I'm at my lowest, what helps me through is you! You inspire me, and you also seem to touch me.Because you are always helping people out, you give so much. Sometimes I wish you could help me too! Being the way that I am. Wish I was beautiful like you Tyra, you are everything. Most importantly, I wish I was able to meet my biological father in this lifetime...Tyra you are a breath of fresh air, beautiful inside and out.You have a good heart. Love you, love your show!!!

There's no other way to get to you. I didn't or don't want to appear on your show....but there has been some disturbing info that i have learned from a friend that say a video on "youtube".....i want you to view it and help get this bumb off the street before he infects more innocent young girls.

you may think i'm a crazy tyra banks fan, but truely i hope you sense that i'm not. i watched that web exclusive where you were dancing to gimme that during the break of your show like 3894732 times , it was funny to me in a way . Oh, and congratulations on your 500th episode ! i hope the for you to get some rest though from the show (: ! i love your work as a producer and host . I really want to attend one of the live recordings of the tyra banks show . I'm just a fourteen year old girl looking forward to go to nyc . Tyra, you really inspire me alot . I like it how you always keep it real . I just wanna to let you know how much you really inspired me in so many ways . My biggest dream since forever was to go to nyc and meet you . As you a girl going on to highschool, I have my negatives and postitives about it and i don't know what the future may hold for me. I feel so lucky right now that I can get the education I can because my family came here from the philippines . It was hard for them at first when they first moved here to seattle washington, they were alway tight on money and had to sleep in crammed places which they didn't own for themselves. I feel such a lucky person to have what i got know. I love my family more than anything and i wish to give them something BIG , but as a young girl like me about to face my fears through out highschool I don't know what to give . SOOO , many things are happening in my family . Family troubles , family moving here from the philippines and my grandma is like 68 and still working so she can get enough money so she can send money to the philippines and help out her sister when she becomes a citzen here , my mom doing construction on a house always tight on money, but wants it to look nice . My mom says that she would pay off my college tuition for anything else just so i can persue my dreams even when we are always on a budget . i don't even know what i want to be yet though. I wish to be in the entertainment industry and produce movies or be an actor though . I mean , we are okay in money but i wish we could have more . I wish for them to be happy and don't have to worry and i wish for them to have a better place to stay . My aunts (my mom's sisters) are pretty much wealthy enough , but my mom and grandparents are okay but i wish they had more . My mom means everything to me, I can shout that out to the world she's like my best friend ! I don't want her to worry much about money anymore . I barely see my dad but i love him to death . I don't like his girlfriend ... but i'm to scared to tell him . You really guide me through life tyra when i'm way too scared to tell or ask for help from somebody. Recently a tv channel (Sic mulher) started transmitting your show! And I must say that it was love at first sight!
Your energy, the way to talk to people (celebrities or just ordinary people) is amazing!
