Celebrate 'The Tyra Banks Show Day!'
When Tyra hit the New York City streets for her 500th episode spectacular she had giving at the top of her mind. So she wasn't expecting the big surprise that NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg had for her. He didn't just declare April 18, 2008 "The Tyra Banks Show" day, he proclaimed it. Check Mayor Bloomberg's official proclamation to find out why even he thinks Tyra is the fiercest act in town!

Whereas: As the media capital of the world and home to an incredibly fashionable population, it's no wonder that New York City has embraced “The Tyra Banks Show” - or that the preeminent glamazon recently moved the program's production to our great city. Today, we are proud to celebrate The Tyra Banks Show's 500th episode!
Whereas: Like so many of our residents, Tyra is fun-filled, but also committed to giving back and building a better future. Not only does her program support our thriving film and television production industry, which supports 100,000 New York jobs and contributes $5 billion to our economy each year - it also tackles important social issues, uplifting guests and audience members alike. And considering our city's aggressive efforts to combat counterfeiting, episodes like "How to Spot a Fake" also make tremendous civic (and aesthetic) contributions.
Whereas: Part of my motivation for honoring Tyra is my hope to become America's Next Top Model (my term ends in just 618 days, and my advisors say I look surprisingly good in heels.) But that's not all. Tyra's style, generosity, and ferocity truly represent the very best our great city has to offer. On behalf of all New Yorkers, here's hoping that her "Made in New York" show will continue creating episodes "all new from the 212" (and 718, 646, 917, and 347) for many years to come.
Now therefore, I, Michael R. Bloomberg, mayor of the city of New York, in recognition of her show's 500th episode, do hereby proclaim Friday, April 18th, 2008 in the city of New York as: "The Tyra Banks Show Day."

Hey Tyra, you beautiful glamazon you! Congratulations on 500 awesome shows and many more. I've been a loyal fan from day one and I even want to work on the show!! I will continue to be a viewer of this great show. You are great and don't let anyone tell you differently. What a milestone and I know that's not the end of those either. Haters will continue to deter you but I love your fighting spirit. I admire you so much. Thanks for being a role model to me. Hi Tyra,
Firstable I would like to congratulate you on your 500th episode; I must say that I have watch every episode since your show started back in 2005, 3 years might sound like a very small number; but you have made it through all this way when some people never even believe that your show was going to be successful. Always stay true to yourself, your an amazing person and thanks for everything that you have share in all your episodes.
And also I want to thank you for giving me strength everytime I have to get infront of an audience at my speech classes. God bless you Tyra

Congratulations on your 500th episode! I love watching the Tyra show and ANTM!! You are such an inspiration to me and lots of young and older females in America. You are truly a special and talented woman. You are beautiful and so so FIERCE!! There are so many shows that I have seen that have teared me up and you are just so honest and trustworthy, you are just amazing!! I am currently watching your 500th episode . congrats! During one of the clips of your past shows I saw everyone in the studio wearing their weight on their shirt, even you. And then everyone ripped the numbers off. I started crying when I saw that. I am getting married in a couple months, and I have been really worried about my weight, and that I would look back on my wedding pictures and be ashamed of the way I looked in them. I am at a healthy weight, but I felt that I had to be skinny and perfect in order to be proud of my looks. After seeing your show I have decided to stop trying to loose the weight, and I know that when I look back on my wedding pictures, I will be proud of how fierce i look, even with my curves. Thank you Tyra.
