Hi - there is a film called "Beauty: In the Eyes of the Beheld" which asks the opposite question: What is it like to be a beautiful woman? It actually interviews everyday beautiful women - a doctor, a stripper, a business woman, a student, etc. - and asks them what it's like to be beautiful. I was surprised to hear what they had to say. It seems that being beautiful is nice, but it's not all it's cracked up to be. Well, that's how I saw it - you have to see it yourself. Just google it. I think you should have the women in the film on your show. It was very enlightening indeed!

WHICH IS NICE! WHEN I GO OUTTA TOWN I SEE SO MANY PPL WELL DRESSED AND ALL BEAUTIFIED AND I LOOK AT MY SELF, AND ITS LIKE EHHH! HOW CAN YOU LOOK PRETTY AND FASHIONALBLE WITHOUT TRYING TOO HARD. I USE TO WEAR MAKE-UP BUT I STOPPED CUZ I GOT TO LAZY SO NOW I ONLY USE IT WHEN I GO TO PARTIES, BUT ON DAY TO DAY BASIS ALL I WEAR IS MASCARA..WHAT TO DO, WHAT TO DO??

tyra, you are such a wonderful rolemodel, i love your show, I trust your opion so much that i want to ask you a question that i have not been able to even voice aloud to myself....I am 22, and have a one year old daughter. when i was 19 my boyfriends family and friends cruely harrassed me about having hair on my face...i thought it was normal for some women to have it, i guess mine was more than normal? anyways, first i tried to let them know how much it hurt me and asked them to stop, they just made more fun, so i tried to make fun of myself but that made me feel even more like an ugly betty....so then i started shaving my face, i was really poor and didnt have money for anything else, and it is so sad, before that i was always so self confidant and loved myself-thought i was actually pretty, but after, wow i have no self esteem at all, they took away my feelings of womanhood...augh...its so embarrassing to talk about, my boyfriend kinda stayed in the backgrounds when that happened, and shortly afterwards we became pregnant and his family stopped being rude to me.
now that i have a daughter though, i am so scared that she will go though the same thing...i will teach her to love herself and that she is beautiful, but i cant keep the outside world from hurting her
...so my question is, is there anything that i can do to prevent my daughter from growing hair on her face? i never want her to go through what i had to

I just loved this show, it is something that I have wanted to tell others, and what was funny is Tyra you looked like me when i was a little girl, or that is how i felt. I remember that there was this time that i Liked this boy named Danny from Maryland, and he flirted with me, and i thought that we were dating. until, he told me that he was only being nice just to get the nerve to speak and have some time with my best friend. he told me that i was pretty, but my friend was just Gorgeous. I got so mad, and angry, that i actually believed him. since then i haven't talked to him other than to say that it truly hurt. After that my friendships with her was never the same. I think that this experiment helps those that are born with that beautiful face, and those of the "Ugly Betty" how each one may feel in the other shoes. whether or not they are just friends, family memebers or co-workers.
