This is some of the MOST ridiculous "advice" I've ever heard! You MUST wait six months before you have sex with a man. That's b.s. I know plenty of married couples that didn't wait that long, it's different for every person and every relationship. If you're not engaged by nine or ten months, he's not taking you seriously? What about people in their early twenties? Who wants to get married THAT early? Some people never want to get married, but still enjoy long term committed relationships. Life isn't a Jane Austen novel. I would be shocked to hear of a friend being engaged after having dated someone less than a year. This woman sounds like she came from the 1950's and it looks like her time machine was a tanning bed! How about women throw these "rules" out the window and start dating on their own terms and in ways that make sense for them. There is nothing fierce about letting someone give you "rules" to live your own life.

I'm 22 yrs old and i still can't figure out men and it always seems like they are very excited to see where things go... dnt know if it's me i try to keep things real wit people i date and i am a very loving and close person... i just keep getting all these fatal attractions and need to know what i would have to find a real sexy, honest, passionate, loving, respectful man, that can be down with me and only men and still be able to keep a relationship. So i am taking the advise and the five tips that was provided tyra and hope they get me somebody who can handle me!!!!

In response to the comments from Tricia and Tmichelle,..dont worry about it. I have seen this womans show and listened to her extensively and she has no idea what she is talking about. Her advice just is not realistic and will do more damage than good! I would bet that her show is completely scripted. Ladies,..just be yourselves, be who you are and be happy with that. You can also try to build your character/self esteem even just a little each day to become closer to the person YOU think you should be/want to be/aspire to be and that will inspire confidence in you which of course will be seen by men of quality who will in turn be more interested in you!

I love this advice but what if you are the type of person that just can't get a date. I am 23 and have never been on a date. I have a lot to offer it just seems people aren't interest. Any suggestions?

Tyra,
I'm single in Atlanta, Ga and although the rules mentioned by Patti Stanger are great but unfortunately, they don't work on black men in Atlanta. The ratio of men to women is not in favor of the sistah's. if you ain't giving up the goodies they drop you like a hot potato and move on to someone who is. Trust me there are plenty who are giving it up. The brotha's down here don't want to get married. They want to play games and if you ain't playing, then you find yourself all alone. If you don't believe me, check out Atlanta's single scene and talk to any single sistah down here. We all have the same story to tell, we can't find a good man to marry.

hi Tyra,
you are the most amazing and helpful person I have ever met. One of your shows when you went undercover as a homeless was amazing to me because it showed your audience, whether at home or at the set, the real look at the life of a homeless and I'm sure that nobody expected the homeless life to be that cruel and messed up. that, to me, was to show that the homeless are equal to everyone and should be treated as we are and not treated like trash, especially since they are probrably trying hader than we are. They probrably just don't know where to start or can't get a job because of a bad, or no, resume.
