The Megan Pledge

After Megan Meier took her own life due to cyber bullying, StopCyberBullying.org said enough is enough! This pledge was created in her honor to remind us all what is at stake.

By taking this pledge:
- I agree to take a stand against cyber bullying.
- I agree not to use technology as a weapon to hurt others.
- I agree to think before I click.
- I agree to think about the person on the other side.
- I agree not to join in cyber bullying tactics or be used by cyber bullies to hurt others.
- I agree to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

I watched the show on Cyber bullying. It was late but I stayed up last night and listened to what these students had to say. The amazing part was that I'm in my 40's and I could relate to there problem. I have been emailing our superidentent of our school the past week. And she wants to talk to me. I think that we need to start with us adults. If the children or student don't know they can come to us adults that it will be safe we will have more die like the young lady who's mother was on the show. I have been fighting bullying for years. Nobody wants to listen. They just say oh that is just that age group. NOT! I believe if any student or children comes to us with a problem we better listen, even if we feel it is time and time again. It is not right to have this going on in our school whether it is on the internet or in person. Children should have a safe person that will listen. I feel that if somebody would of listened and not just said well she just wants attention all the time, more children I know would not have the self esteem they have today. It is just something that is thrown out all the time. I know some of the comments that were said on the show last night most administrator I know would of said let them work it out. It isn't that big of a deal. I am trying to get brave and go in and talk to the school district in my town, not that I have children that are in this district but I think we need to listen to our children more. Life is to short, and no parent should have to bury their child. Or find them dead. We need to change bad to good. I have never had to go through this finding my child dead but I have rushed them to the hospital, to get their stomach pumped. Due to they didn't want to be here because of what happened in school. We need these in all schools not just high school. Children should be the most important not whether we get an award, or whether we get a pat on the back. Let's just save our children!!!!!

hi tyra my name is morgan and i can relate to what those girls on the show were feeling because last year in fith grade there was girls who just made me miserable there was one specific girl who just for no reason turned every sigle friend i'd ever had against me and then in sixth grade i got hit in the face and i was always made fun of by people saying that i was fat ugly and i didnt belong anywhere but tyra i would love to tell those girls my advice i would say that if they say something to your face you should not let them see that its getting to you because if they see that they will do it more and more because they have nothing better to do thank you tyra i think that if you let me be on your show i could really help them i have always wanted to be a good spokesperson to young girls and tell them that there not the only ones so even though i'm only 11 this is what i want to do so please let me be on your show
