I love your show and I truly appreciate that you reach out to young women who are trying to find themselves. You touch millions of people's lives and GOD sees that. You are blessed.
As for me; I am elated to be Single & Fierce although I hope to marry one day and be ("Married & Fierce"). Ha ha! Currently, I am in college majoring in Biology & Psychology. In my church I am a nurse, a missionary and a student school teacher for the young adults. I have a strong love of writing and doing work in the missions field. I read my poetry at churchs and schools. I recently published a book of poetry and quotes entitled 'Not Today' (www.minimahbillings.com) and I read a few pieces from it at a recent event this week where they honored female authors for Women's History Month. I've had some people attempt to taunt me because of my step forward.
I am doing my best to get a thorough education because I desire to help people who have psychological problems. My goal is to be a psychiatrist one day.
Writing for me is a great outlet; so I continue to write. I am working on my next book now, which is a story of an abused man. People that I thought were my friends have proved me wrong. Some of them have downplayed my literature and it hurts. A few of them don't even talk to me anymore and that is what really hurts. It's been over a year since I've dated. Men that I meet state that I am aiming too high. Why can't I wish to be successful in my own right? To be successful to me is to be used of GOD for the greater good.
I wish that people would simply be happy for me because I rejoice with my friends when they accomplish set goals. How do I stay focused on my aspirations, not step on people's toes and be happy at the same time?

I really like ur show tyra,am from East Africa,Mombasa,kenya.i liked the show where u were talking about racism,i so impressed how u handle it wen this white guy(excuse me 4 using the word "white")was trying to call a brother that he looks like a pimp,like he is from the gheto,the brother looks uneducated coz he is dating a white girl.am so surprised how racism is killing the new generation.here in Africa we treat whites with respect but it hurts coz wat i see on tv the way whites hates black people,it makes me cry,

I watched the show today on single black women, and my comment is that, I.m a black man whom loves the black women, but i just can't find one who knows of our history of what our ancesstors have gone through, meaning they are all about the style and look of today's so call black women, i like a women with her own hear, sort or long without the perm or weave, just a natural black woman, who's not worried about what others think when being herself.

Hey Tyra, I watched your show single and fierce and just for the record, it's not just the women having problems with finding anyone. I'm a 33 yr old guy, never been married and no kids. I'm a lovin guy who loves to have fun, but always end up finding the wrong woman. It's not fun being the third wheel when your friends are either married or dating someone and ask me to come along. So, I can completely understand the situation of some of these people. You should do a show along the lines of men trying to find someone like you did with the women

Hi Tyra,

This is my first time writing you. The show the other day on, "Single and Stuck in a rut" is so me. I am 36 and have never been married and have no kids. In my area this is rarely heard of and people wonder what is wrong with you since you are in this position. I live north of Green Bay, WI and there ARE NOT many single men around. I am not into preppy guys so I rarely go to the city because that is who I usually meet.(OK, or I never WAS into preppy guys. WHo knows??) And after this many years of dating, I know it is not always that fun trying to meet someone.

I will add that I was recently engaged we broke up over the holidays. (A male friend of 15 years who just was not very affectionate.) So, now I am feeling ready now!

I really enjoyed the approach to the show because you set females up with the opposite of whom they usually date. That was interesting. I haven't had the best of luck so far so I would be willing to try anything!

I am a teacher so I do not really meet many people who are single that way. I also bartend at a supper club which does not bring in many single guys. I have high hopes for the summer though.

Just wanted to say I loved the approach and using the different sights, sounds and smells was INTERESTING too.

OMG! Malena and I has so much in common. After hearing her speak about her past relationships I knew we had a lot in common. I have also been in less than considerable relationships and pretty much gave it up so fast that I was never considered to be a prospect for dating but an easy and quick hook up on the side line sorta thing. I've since then given that up as just my past. I have not dated, not talked and or chatted with men since the beginning of this year. It is my promise to myself and my determination to not give it up so fast and settle for less than what I deserve. I am also a single mom of one and has some pretty bad childhood experiences which I feel has alot to do with my sexual history and the men I have met. Thanks for airing this show, it was a really good insight into a much bigger reality than I could have imagined for I am not alone in this hectic dating world.

Hey Tyra..I'm 19 years old and although I'm very young I just got out of a serious relationship. I was engaged to a 31 year old man, yup 12 years older than I am. He didn't want the break up, but I didn't want the stress he put me through, constantly pushing for kids and marriage. I feel that I made the right choice to end it, but silly to say, I'm afraid of being alone. I need some Tyra advice =)

My name is Kelly. I live in Louisiana. In the past year, I have gotten in to two serious relationships, one right after another, with married or taken men. I was always assured that I was the only woman in the relationship. I respected their relationships with past women and understood when they wouldn't be around because they were with their kids even though I know that their ex-gf/wife were going to be there. The married man I dated for near 2 years before I found out he was married. The guy that was engaged, well, things would always pop up but he was so good about being deceptive I really believed that there was nothing going on with him and his ex or my (now best) friend on myspace. Yes, there were three of us all together. His "special, sophisticated" online gf just found out and informed he was engaged. Now, both men "dated" other women. One of things that bothered me is they would tell the "other women" they were married or in a relationship but NEVER mentioned this fact to me. So I think I am in an exclusive serious relationship and they are all into me, but THERE WERE OTHER WOMEN. This realy, really bothered me, especially the one with three women because I was so brutally honest with him and I tried my best to make sure he knew EVERYTHING. The married man and I still talk occassionally but I think he has mental issues so I stay away from him in general. I tried to befriend the man with three women 4 mos after (yeah it took me four months before I could actually talk to him again) the relationship was over, but I was causing problems (inadvertently) with his other online gf. Now, he has totally disappeared from both of our lives, and me and the online gf have befriended each other instead.
