Tyra,

Hi i just would like to comment on the topic of "Black Women" upset at the fact that black men or should i say their men getting with woman of other races, really upsets me. I am a 20yr old White Woman and I am married to a Black man I didn't just run after him because he is black and I wanted to despise black women...I became attracted and fell in love with a man that was amazingly sweet caring and loving...Not fell in love with him because he was "BLACK" he was my first love the man i lost my virginity too.. and it highly annoys me when black women walk around with a chip on their shoulder and give me horrible looks as if they were with my husband and i took him away ..!! I often just look at them as haters and just ignore them but it really does get to me I haven't done anything wrong and I'm sorry to inform them but JUST BECAUSE A MAN IS BLACK DOESN'T MEAN HE ONLY HAS TO DATE BLACK WOMEN AND THE SAME GOES FOR BLACK WOMEN...God made all races and never said each must stay with their race..I just think that if they spent nearly as much time as they spend worring about black men with white women they could prob find that one cause there is always that one person for you and yes i found mine and YES HES BLACK !!!
And I LOVE HIM !!

Thank you,
Trista

In the first segment of your show the subject seemed to be about the fact that white women don't belong with black men. "stealing black men" seemed to be the theme. In a perfect world, one person would be attracted to another person based upon character, sense of humor, and a small amount of uncontrollable animal instinct known as chemistry. From what the audience said and what Tyra said I inferred that it is not normal for females of any race to pick her mate based upon character. I am not angry as much as sad. I may be naive, but I believe that a person does not control who they are attracted to. I am a white woman who has dated black men and hispanic men and white men. I just happen to have a very ridiculous and pessimistic sense of humor and I usually date a person who seems like they share that sense of humor. The men who I relate to are few and far between so I really prize each and every individual, regardless of his appearance, race or monetary position. The rest of your episode improved, though, when you discussed the appearance of black women and the reason why no woman should be ashamed of her assets. I happen to feel like I am faking some of my own appearance to satisfy the monster that is the perpetuated "beauty" in the media. Tyra Banks is amazingly beautiful beyond comprehension, but I believe she thinks she has the same flaws that I believe I have.

Hey Tyra,

I just saw your show yesterday (a repeat) about black women and I got so sad when you teared up about your parents divorce and not wanting to bring a child into the world. My parents divorced when I was 21, but in my opinion they should have divorced sooner (my mom stuck it out for the kids). Needless to say, it was not a happy home life. I am now a divorced mother of a beautiful girl and I've never regretted bringing her into the world for a minute. We were divorced when she was 4, so she doesn't even remember, but her father is very much a part of her life even though we don't live in the same house. I don't know your particular situation, but the most important thing for a child is that her parents (whether there's a father in the picture or not) do right by that child. I've seen your mom on ANTM and on your show, she's a lovely lady and I only hope one day my daughter can say the same things about me that you say about your mom. BTW, I think you would make a wonderful mom, I remember you yelling at that model on ANTM in cycle 4 and I know you did it out of love and even though you have to get harsh at times, I believe you want the best for all those girls. BTW, I'm a white woman, but I believe when it comes to divorce, we're all equal on those issues. Stay strong, girl!

Hey Tyra....almost all my life i've been told i should be a model but i never wanted to. until i watch antm for the first time and i just fell in love with it. Tyra i hope you understand how important it is to me to get on the show, i've watched almost every season and i want so bad to just have the chance to be on there and try my best to win it. me and my best friend both want to be on the show together. Tyra i'm only 15 now and i hope you still have the show two years from now so when i do send in a video remember this message and this name:Treylinda Roberts.....and i pray that you let me on your show. (more sooner then later)

I realize that some people think that you excluded other races in this show, but I absolutly love your show and being a bi-racial teen, you really do inspire me. Your shows that talk about being black are uplifting for me. You are my idol, I watch your show everyday afterschool & I've watched every cycle of America's Next Top Model. Your show is amazing. Thanks!

Dear Tyra:
Now that you've lived in NYC for a little while, do you find you are treated any differently in NYC than you were in LA? If so, it would be interesting to know in what way(s).
Or would you say NYC to LA is what apples are to oranges?
Yours truly,
D.

hi tyra iam tifa from algeria .your show is so good and you too

hannah u dont understand, u are very naive to the fact of why people do what they do, its not racist, its fact, and it is whaats really going on most of the time, hanna u need to go read some of the post on malenas topic of why black women are sngle, maybe u dont get it, maybe u havent been exposed to the real world, black women dont complain about interracia, but Its the reasoning and attitude behind it, and being a white girl and especially seemingly a naive on( no offense) u dont get it, but just because your white thats no excuse not to understand because I have seen plenty of post from white women admitting some of the truths that most dont admit about this issue, go read different post and maybe u will understand bettr, darlin its not racist, its real

Hi Tyra, I felt that I needed to express my opinion about this topic. I don't understand why black women applauded Angela from Essence magazine when she said that white women are taking away their men. That is a VERY racist comment but it seems to be acceptable for black women to say that. Why was it okay on your show for black women to discriminate against white women? Men will date whomever they choose and it's not any woman's fault. I felt as though this particular episode was very one sided and was in favor of black women. Whenever a black man was speaking his honest opinion, he was booed and interrupted. Also, the single mother on your show said that she is single because there are not any good black men out there. How about asian, hispanic, indian, and caucasian men? If a white person said that they only wanted to date someone white, they would immediately be called a racist. Watching this episode made me realize that it's NOT all races discriminating against blacks, but it's blacks discriminating against each other and other races.

Hello my names Kristie
I have really light skin but im native.
I've gone through racisim almost all my life for being native because people always knew I was.
I even had another native boy who was darker than I am told me to "Go catch another salmon you squaw"
when I was younger
I'm very proud to be who I am. I dont judge or label anyone. Even though i'm a light native I still go through it as well.

and can someone tell me why the heck monique coleman was on the show? she didnt really say anything or contribute too much to the subject to the show, lol, I did like the show simply because tyra showed some black women that are movers and shakers but with all due respect that is not nearly all, and there needs to be much much more subject on the positive things about black women instead of so many shows about negative things, tyra u have so much on the show about negative things that it makes me have a migraine,WHY BLACK MEN DONT LIKE BLACK WOMEN, WHY A BLACK WOMEN CANT GET A MAN, RACE RACE ACE AND HOW NOBODY LIKES BLACK WOMEN etc etc etc, its just too much, lets start getting more positive things, lets start getting a broader panel of people on your shows, why dont you have people on there of all races talking about how a black women is so beautiful or just have a subject talking about what makes each race of women so beautiful with a panel of positive people talking, negative opinions dont need to be heard, It's no secret that there are ignornant people outthere that feel the way they do but we dont need to run it in the ground because we already know whats up, all this cant be good for a lot of individuals self worth to have to hear this constantly

tyra- I didn't know how else to contact you so i thought i would post a comment. I love americans next top model and i have been watching it since season one. I have a great idea for a photo shoot. I think you should do a pregnancy photo shoot because i think pregnant woman and so beautiful!!!!!!!!! Hope you love to idea and use it sometime in your show!

Hi Ms. Banks
I'm a 17 year old poet and I watch your show and I love it Ccuz your always real no mater what the topic is you speak your mind and I admire that Because not everybody who talkshow speak their mind about things tht go on so I really like that and one day I want to come see your show live but 'til than keep inspiring young black women to stand up for what they believe in

ps: thank you and please email me

Tyra you think you are representing black women ??? You are soo far from that. How do you expect people to believe you on anything. You act so FAKE on your talk show and ANTM. You are so judgemental!...I have heard soo many stories from people who have attended your show and even one of my best friends and they say you are soo friendly , bubbly on camera and when the camera is off you are not. You don't even acknowledge the audience. You IGNORE them. What kind of a talk show host does that?

Georgia

Hey Tyra

I don't usually watch your show but i tuned in for the first time and it will be the last.

We are living in a new century! ...African American's don't ony have those problems other races to do! Don't just think about your race.

It seems to me that you HATE caucasion people!... I am very appauld by this.

Lauren

Hi tyra
I am a huge fan of yours and I look up to as a strong black woman. But I had a question more like a favor to ask can you please have jada pinkett smith on the show again perhaps when her movie comes out called the human contract and ask her to talk briefly about her life where she came from and where she's going. I love her she is another strong black woman i look up too and both you women give me inspiration to just keep going in life. thank you for reading this.

WW DUMPED FOR BW by WM

I am a WW who was dating a WM for the last 3mths. But he dumped me earlier this week. He said that he had mostly dated BW and that he was more attracted to them and that I was too needy something that he doesn’t get from BW. I wanted to let all the ladies know that WW are also in the same boat. There are lots of WM that now prefer BW .

Greetings Madam,

I don't often got to have the time to watch your program but, everytime or after watching it, I feel so relieved and began to be positive again. May I know if it would'nt harm you to examine each of the files I'm more grateful to send to your personal e-mail account?

I’m just very desperate and badly in-need for someone who would make an enormous effort to educate and assists on how my life-changing project would come to life. This project will transform child labourers, sex slaves and child, drug-traffickers into world-class productive members of our society. The likes of:
Charice Pempenco
Dave Batista of WWF (World Wrestling Federation)

Manny Pacquiao
P.J Pascual (Oprah's editor in chief)

Apl de Ap of the Black Eye Piece

Lea Salonga and many more.

Thank you so very much.

Hey Tyra It's me again La Porche' and I need a little help from you. Well as I said I live in a very racist town. But herer's the twist, insted of whites against the Blacks it's the Hispanics against the Blacks. I had just tranfered to another shool because I was being called a "n" every day. My friends have been beat, spit on, and called out of thier names by Hispanic students. The school won't do anything about it. I can't even walk down the street wihtout beeing calles a name. Tyra I would really love to be on your show and share my story. My friends and I want justice. Please call me and let me know @(209)230-6677. This really means alot. Love La Porche'

Tyra You are so cool. Being a Black Young Lady my self,Iwant to feel proud of who I am. Living in a discriminatin city, it's getting hard to stay strong. But keep spreading the word! Love La Porche'

I believe I am a strong black woman, inspite, of my circumstance. (jobless, homeless in Oakland,CA.) I don't give up! I don't want anyone to pitty me. If they may know of a opportunity, for me to become dependent, then I'm all for it. I want every women to excell, so don't give up. Get in gear Ready-Set-Up.

Ms. Stallings

Hello Tyra..
I loved this episode I am not an African american I am African..I live in France so I am probably not really concerned by this but I kind of relate to this topic I almost cried when you got all emotional..Actually I relate to almost all of your topics :p

I love u..love ur show and love ANTM...have been watchin' your show on youtube for weeks now as I can't watch it on french television..and I just wish I could go to NYC to be on it!!
Because I'd just like to tell you how much you inspire me.
I know people probably tell you that everyday : you are beautiful, I love u..ME I love you and the way you are even if I am not always OK with everything you do and say..it's that I am so happy to see this side of you..you know not the superstar one..it's almost like you are flawless and yet I can see the flaws in you (sorry..)
So i just wanted to tell that..and I also like when you talk about Paris in ANTM and say that you love this city and how your carreer launched there!
I live in Paris and sometimes I wonder in which side of Paris u used to live because Paris is just wonderful when you come for vacation but when you actually live here...it's HELL
:p..no offence to you and to the experience you had here..it was probably because of the modelling world that you were in that you didn't really see it as it actually is.
Me my dream is to live in NYC, LA or London.. I have been in those cities and I can say that expect for the great food Paris is the worst city to live in.
Ok I think I'll stop writtin' all my life down as I don't even know if u'll read this!
But as you said on the show that we could actually get emails from you I thought I'd give it a shot. So it was me!!

I love you Tyra you really are a role model for me

PS: I am sorry for the many mistakes I am sure I made..for my defence I do not speak english but french.
xoxo
