Mary J. was so off the hook today, from the interview portion to the two live performances..... u gotta love her and only respect her "Grown Woman"!!!!!! I'm learning to be a grown woman too and it's not easy, but with people like Tyra and Mary, all you can do is learn!

I don't think that Mary's answer was bad and it's definately not for people to judge her on. She never said anything racist or sexist and just because the woman wants long flowing hair doesn't give us the right to talk about her. Would you rather she lie? Tyra i was looking at mary work out steps..And she mentioned that she can not get her triceps the way she wants it.....I am a sports freak i work out alot,play all types of sports.... basket ball,volley ball,run track etc...but there is one special work out i do for my triceps....It's call dips..it's very easy....

Tyra, I turned into your show today with Mary J. Blige. And within the first 10 minutes I was highly disappointed in the discussion you were having.

When you proceeded to ask Mary a serious of questions, you asked her if a fairy could grant her a wish what it would be? I was angered that Mary said long flowing hair. It surprised me that of all wishes she chose something that represents outside features. For someone who has lived a tough life and has worked hard to find a love and appreciate herself, why would she wish to have something that doesn't even mean anything. We already live in a society that judges people based off of looks. I am a dark-skinned, natural hair wearing sister who for a long time never really considered myself pretty unless someone told me. It wasn't until recently within the past 2 years that I had to recognize it for myself. It is a shame that I live in a society that doesn't even acknowledge my beauty, is afraid of it and will not see my beauty as a reflection of what is different, unique and very much apart of what America is truly made of.

What disappointed me even more about this particular question that you asked is that you said "so you want some of that good hair" Why would you say something like that Tyra? You may have been kidding but given the history of where that term derived and the pain and shamefulness it has caused, I would think you would joke about something like that. Mary then proceeded to agree with you and said "isn't it better" WHAT!!!. I don't think Mary has changed all that much as she claims she has. She still has a lot of work to do. And with all do respect Tyra so do you. You speak about uplifting and image but when the tabloids got a picture of you on the beach in a bathing suit and comments were being made about it, you got upset, almost started to cry, dedicated a whole show to image, took a picture to show that you still got it and so forth. If you claim it didn't bother you, then you should have just ignored it and not give it any power.

So it is just sad to see successful black women speaking, singing about uplifting young girls, when as adult women you still have a lot to learn and a lot more love to give to yourself. I see the way you gloat over Beyonce!!, saying how beautiful she is. Would you say the same about India Arie? Society says Beyonce is beautiful because she has white features. I'm keeping it real Tyra, and so should you. Girls look up to you, are real with them and try to govern you life according to what you talk about.

MJB has gotten me through so much in my life. I had a heart transplant 10 yrs ago and I am so fortunate to be alive. I have been through alot in my life and MJB has been a very big inspiration to me. Of course like alot of her fans, I would love to meet her one day cuz I am a HUGE fan. She was in Charlotte, NC last year and I was so hurt that I couldn't go to her show.
