Jared’s Get Off Your Butt Homework
Feel like you're in a slump? Try Jared's homework and you're bound to feel better.
1. Jared Matthew Weiss wants you to know there’s no such thing as trying. There’s what you do and what you don’t do. Take a balloon and pop it with a pin. You didn’t have to try to do it. You just did it.
2. We’ve all heard the phrase “dance like no one is watching.” But do you ever do it? Put on a blindfold and dance! You’ll feel better than ever.
3. Make two lists. One is what you can control. The other is what you cannot control. You’ll be surprised how many of your problems can be controlled and fixed! Work on those problems and learn to accept what you cannot control. Write your “cannot” on a can and crush it. Stomp on it. Now, doesn’t that feel good!
4. Everyone struggles with confidence. Learn how beautiful you are on the inside. Try strutting the streets in a trash bag! Cut open the bottom and put it over your head. Now work your street like a runway. Your confidence will keep people from noticing the crazy outfit.

Hey Tyra,my biggest dream right now is for my daughter to get into college. Jacquina Guthrie has been a beautiful young lady for the past 18 years coming up on February 26, 2009. Although you are her model and idol to be on America's Next Top Model, we admire you more for your inner beauty. Jacquina and her sister helped me so much through the terminal illnesses of my mom/cancer and my dad heart disease. But she continued to work hard in school. Jacquina attends a private school and it is really misunderstood that we do not have money for her right now. Jacquina's dad is currently unemployed, therefore we are a single income family right now. We have been searching for those scholarships that do not require 3.00 GPA but we have been unsuccessful. Iam asking if you do have this in your scholarship program if you can please direct me to another source. Jacquina aspires to continue to model and pursue her goal to be the next successful entrepreneur in the international fashion design industry, U.S. and overseas. Thank you for any help and guidance you can give her.

Surprisingly, this episode changed my perspective on life. Of course, I have to admit that I probably wouldn't have payed attention if it were someone other than Jared saying it. haha
I can tell Jared Matthew Weiss is going to get very far in life because he has looks AND smarts - the whole package!
anyways, im definately using his tips and im hoping i marry someone like him one day =D
P.S. im 14, so it proves that his technique can truely work for anyone. And seriously, I've taken talk therapy before, but this "lifestylist" stuff seems more like something I'd like to do

Tyra,
I just saw your show, and I really got into what Jared had to say. (Plus, he is someone that i wouldn't mind walking up to and asking out myself) His attitude towards stress and life management really made me think more about my own life!

All these tips are great and truly work. Here is my story:
I have gone above and beyond to
finance my entire college education, room/board, books, tuition
(everything!). I earned more than $100,000 in scholarships to fund 4
years of my studies. I'm debt-free and loving it!
But this great feat didn't come easy; I sacrificed 2 years of my high
school junior and senior years to research scholarships on the
Internet and camped out in my high school guidance counselor's office
to obtain this free money. It was my "part-time job." I would finish
school, do my extracurricular activities, complete my homework, and
search for scholarships until my mom yelled at me to go to sleep.
You must also understand that coming in May 2008 I will be the
first-college graduate in my immediate family! I come from a
low-income family; therefore, my college degree means a better life
not only for myself, but my family and my community.
Fast forwarding to now—after applying to over 60 scholarship
applications, I landed 13 scholarships totaling more than $100,000.
This is a big deal, since the average student receives only $5,000 in
financial aid and will graduate with at least $20,000 in student loan
debt. I have definitely beaten the statistics!
My passion in life is to encourage and inspire students to attend
college, despite financial hardship. Locally, I have provided
scholarship workshops to help students, and I even was invited to
Tavis Smiley's Leadership Institute to conduct a seminar to 200
students.
Education has made my life better and I want to keep the dream alive
for others.
