Ask A Top Model
Are you counting down the days until the 10th cycle of America’s Next Top Model debuts? Do you know the name of every girl and details of each challenge? What would you ask the former competitors if you had the chance to find out what really happened behind the scenes?

Hey Tyra! What does it take to be a Victoria's Secret Model? I am 5'8 but have a slim athletic build, but how skinny must girls be?
I love you and the show!
Please write back :) xo

What can my daughter do at a casting call to stand out among the rest? We've tried to get Amanda noticed in several other avenues. We've paid the money. We've stood in lines and it's all been to no avail. This reminds me of Adrianne who said, "Finally I've made it, after my Mom has paid all this money!"
(She had her Mom as her visitor and she was so excited.) I am worried that Amanda's spirit could be broken because we just recently had one more disappointment. I know it hurts and embarrasses her and she thinks she's not pretty enough. She loved that Yoanna House won because she feels like she can relate with her. Amanda's got the look. A lot of people (not only her mother) has told her that she should be a model. She's worried because she's not quite 5'8 but close. And I told her to look at Eva whose 5'6. So, once again she'll try and occasionally she'll get picked but not advance to the point where she makes money. It's always her Dad and I shelling out the money for a portfolio or to get more experience.
Tyra, what should we do? Should I send you a picture? I know you would be honest and tell us to give up and pursue another career or just keep trying.
Thank you

Hi tyra, my name is Ariell and I love your show ANTM I hope to appear on the next season in 2009 when I turn 18. I am an aspiring model, I've been through Barbizon for schooling and competitions, and auditions and so forth. But still I havent really received any paying jobs, I'm really passionate about modeling. I have been doing this since 9th grade and I'm in 11th now I wanted to know can you give me any advice in what I can do to further my experience and my future career and hopefully land a job. All the places I have been to I haven't received any luck, one place wanted $2000 just for going to their school even though I've been to school. Right now I auditioned for this agency about 3 weeks ago and I'm still waiting on their call. Also I live in North Carolina where most of the movies are made and the stars are born. SO please Tyra if you can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Tyra ~
I really don't have a comment, more like a question. You are a big role model for young girls and you inspired them. I would like to know if you will ever host a show (modeling) for younger girls (maybe ages 8 - 16 years)? My daughter is 9 years and she loves America's Next Top Model. Your show bring in all ages, keep up the good work.

Hi Tyra!
I just want to say that you are one amazing woman! You are beautiful, powerful and fun and you inspire so many people! I love ANTM and Tyra show as well!
I have a question for you: I always hear about ANTM castings but cannot attend any of those - I am only 5' 5" :( I've been wanting to model all my life, but I know I will never be able to be a runway model due to my height. I know that you are against agencies that take your money (modeling scams). What would you suggest? Is there anything (commercials, local catalogs, etc) that I can do without having to pay some agency and be ripped off? How do I get into to that? I'm sure there are a lot of "short" girls like me who would love to have a chance!
I understand that you are a very busy person but if I can get a reply it would be amazing! Thank you so much!

Hey Tyra,
I've been modelling for almost a year now. I'm 19 years old. I live in Toronto and my agency is Elmer Olsen Model Management. As much as they try to push me into runway, the designer's don't usually go for my look. I have the type of look where you can't really tell what my background is. I love modelling. I've done a good bit of editorial and a few runway shows. I don't know how to get my look out there since I'm not at the top. Since Loreal Fashion Week is coming up I go to every casting, but since my look is not what their looking for it's been very hard to deal with. I'm very mixed so it causes a lot of problems with designer's. I have the height and the body. I honestly don't know anyone else who would understand especially since I'm coloured. I love modelling and I don't want to give it up. Please give me some advice.

Dear Tyra;
I think there should be a cycle with just plus size models. All the plus size models on antm were really small. They seemed bigger because everyone else was really small.

On 2/27/08 there was a model on the show by the name of Issis I remember seen her on a special for MSNBC about young transsexuals she final made it she stated she wanted to be a fashion designer. I would love to see what shes up too since the show with msnbc. I think you should have her on the show.
