Supermodel Beauty Tips for Dark Skin
Supermodels Alek Wek and Chanel Iman share their must-have beauty products for black skin.
Alek is a low-maintenance beauty but she can’t live without her Super Supreme Butter from Sephora, which you can find at www.sephora.com
Model Chanel Iman refuses to go out looking dry or ashy, so she uses Rosebud Salve from Sephora on her lips and cuticles! Visit www.sephora.com

hi tyra. id tell you my name but i dont think thatd be very smart... anyhow. im 16 and i want to be a model. i want it SO BAD. i used to have a lot of problems with my self confidence but then i modeled in a fashion show at my high school. i know thats nothing compared to fashion shows in milan, or paris, but it really made me rethink what i believe about myself and what i want to do with my life. im still not completely sure of myself, but i finally have enough confidence to accept myself for WHO I AM and realize that im pretty. i was hoping that maybe you could make an america's next top model for teenagers. i may not be the best but i know i have potential. i truly believe modeling is the real me. i always picture myself on a runway. i dont know how my parents would react because modeling just... isnt what they had in mind for me. theyd probably think i was throwing my life away. im one of the top students in my class and hopefully i'll be valedictorian. but i want to be a model. all i need is a chance.

This is MIKE!
This is a good observation by Miriam below, yes Asian Models should be respected and shown more, when you consider such names as Shilpa Shetty and the fact that we have had recent Miss World winners from both China and India!
To Ariel:
I hope very much that you pursue your Modeling aim, I think currently you may be a little over-citical of your self and should perhaps focus more on what you like about yourself. Modeling comes in many forms, so perhaps consider your assets and try for Modeling opportunities that are in-keeping with that.
Thank you for your time from
MIKE

Hi Tyra (if u read this)
I'm 14 yrs old and I live in Trinidad, out here in the Caribbean. I love your show. I too want to be a model when I get older, but I'm having a serious struggle with my weight. I REALLY want to model because i know that i have talent for it and i KNOW that this is where MY HEART is telling me to go. My weight and size are only a few of my problems, i have a pretty big nose so this is my only facial flaw. my cousin who i've told my dreams to think that i can never make it because of these flaws, but they and even my mom will never understand how much and how strongly that fashion is an ETHEREAL part of me. I don't like to think about my weight problem a lot, bercause i'm not extremelyhuge, just over weight for my size. this is really dangerous for me because i have a damaged leg as a result from a previous vehicular accident. I can't even run and extra weight makes my lifestylea lot more difficult than other kids. i really would like it if you could have a show addressing issues like this because i've had some battles with bulimia and anorexia in the pasy. (my family never knew) with all the critique that comes from the fashion industry, I'm so scared because these diseases ARE coming back. Please do something on your show to inspire me. I'M LOSING FAITH. Love u- Ari-ana S.

Shamica, have you ever heard of Elyse? She's white and way more sucessful than Eva and Tocarra and Danielle. She wasn't a winner. Get your facts straight. BTW, you can be black & hispanic at the same time. Hispanic isn't a race. I am Hispanic and I have light brown skin. I think that I'm a beautiful Hispanic woman.
tyra needs to do a show like this for asian models beause they are represented even less than black models.
Black models aren't the only girls who are being discriminated against.

Hi Tyra,
this is catherine aka- tyracats
is it possible to recieve a personal email from you just to know that you recieve my messages. i would also like to meet other models. i am a bigtime fan of your talkshows, there is a way you are realistic, open and yet affectionate. one can easily connect with you. you help deal with their greatest fears, and you are brave enough not to have a fairy-tale ending (happily ever after ending) when it is necessary. you rock tyra

Hi tyra
my name is catherine a great fan of your pesronality from uganda(east africa). tyra i am dark skinned, most people think am a model and i love it, thou i luck the confidefence to try out, tyra you have been my role model for a long time you are the one that inspires me, i believe you will make my modeling dream come true. in uganda here modeling has a negative reputation and tyra i want to change that, i had thought of introducing a modelling college where people who have dreams like mine can have a chance to achieve it. i look at you as the director for the school....anyway tyra the truth is i just want a chance to work with you, to interact with you. i love you tyra

Hi Tyra
Unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to watch the show anymore but I know that you are a big inspiration for women (including me). I know that you had a show for plus size models, or curvy women. But I would like to know when are you going to have a show for short petite models? I am 5'2, 105lbs. I would love to be a model but I feel that being so short is not going to help me to achieve my dreams. I would really appreciate to hear from you about the short petite model situation.
Lots of love Kathy

I have mixed skin type of black and white. I find that anytime i get a pimple, there always follows with a darker permanent spot after. I started using Pro-active about three months ago and i find it helps with my complexion but these spots are still visible. Now that summer is aproaching I dont want to wear any make up. What can I do to help with these dark marks?
