Actually, the Coach bags made before 2002 say made in US. They started making them in China after 2002. so some may say made in US is it is from an earlier collection.

I think people should just stop being elite about, what we carry around or wear. When you're paying 5,000 on a bag that probably wont be in season next year, your only buying the label (name) I would refuse to buy a bag for that much, there are replicas that look like the exact same thing, and they're genuine leather; 100 bucks!

You get what you pay for. If the bag is cheaper than what you would expect then it is fake.

As a Coach employee, I know that many swingpacks (like the one mentioned above) have the leather stripe down the middle. I would say close to 75% or more of the ones sold in full price or outlet stores have the stripe. Under "Coach" it should say leatherwear, and it should never say Made in USA on the inside, unless it is an older bag (because they used to make them here, an in the past few years are making them in China).

In addition, the nylon strap should never say "Coach" embroidered on it. The buckles and clips should never say "coach" on them, but the small circular one on the front.

The unfortunate thing is that I have spoke to many women about getting their purses repaired, only to find out their bag is fake. Someone (husband, mother, sister) gave it to them as a gift and never told them it was a knock off. That can make for a very embarrassing situation, so always double check.

Once I was in the restroom and a woman and her friends were in there. Woman B said, "look, she also has a Burberry purse". Woman A said, "it's probably fake, look at the state of her jeans". I promptly commented, "these jeans are my favorite Rock and Republic, and I can smell the pleather of your fake". I hate it when people with fakes act like they own the world; when all they own is a cheap piece of pleather.

As far as the comment about the coach bag with the leather going down the middle if you pay close attention she said "if there is one it should say leatherware"

I just needed to let you know. I missed the show because I was working but my friend sent me the video and after watching it I have to disagree with this lady!! I have always carried fakes. Some better than others and I have to say I thought I was getting really good at picking out the best looking fakes. My Friend who is a freak about Coach she will drop $3000.00 in one day a a coach store couldn't tell I was carrying fakes is now going with me to buy the fakes anyways, I decided to go buy a real one for my b-day from the Coach store and it DOES NOT say made in China!! But one of my fakes do. Her theory doesn't make sense. There are good fakes and Bad fakes and I have seen Gucci bags with pink lining that are fakes. This lady needs to do her homework if she is going to go on national television.

Erm. We as a society are OBSESSED with brand name items, whether they be a purse or a pair of jeans. etc. I think it is a matter of personal financial situations and tastes. I understand and fully acknowledge that yes, there are people who cannot fully afford the cost of some of these luxury bags, however the point I am trying to raise, is that it does not stop them from attempting to purchase a replica of the item. In reality, if a a bag at the local flea market or posted online for a ridiculously low price -it will be fake, or stolen. If one desires to invest in a good leather bag, from whereever it may be -that will last a long some of time and will used to its full potential, I assume it is worth the effort. However, for those who are buying these bags for fashionable purposes, buy something smaller from the brand name itself -a wristlet, or make-up bag etc. They are considerably cheaper and achieve the same effect. :) AND , you can always buy yourself another one when you are sick of the print/ pattern.

To Kelly from Michigan honey if you are able to pay $5,000 or more for a bag/purse more power to you. But don't knock those woman who prefer to invest money in stock and bonds or something that will bring a return on their money other than a purse. If you are not paying $5,000 or more for your bags are probably fake/replicias. Trust me I know. And remember anything on your as$ is not an asset. You may be able to sell but you are not going to ever get what you paid for the bag. And what does it do for you. Women get over it. Trust me the bags the celebrities carry they get them for free that's how they become so popular. If Halle Berry is carrying Parda, LV or Herme Birkin bags guess what they know that people like us will sell our souls to get the same bag. Jsut some food for thought. The comments on the Coach bag were not entirely correct, specifically the 'Made in China' comment. Yes, new purses are NOW made in China, but older Coach purses were made in the USA. Tyra's friend should have went a bit further and included that to prevent a whole lot of women out there from thinking they have fake purses when indeed they do not. I have three purses here, all the same style and all bought through Coach - 2 were purchased years ago, one just recently. The 2 older ones are clearly marked on the inside they were made in the United States; the new one says it was made in China. All of them were purchased at Coach stores and there is no question they are authentic. I was not going to post this but thought it would help alot of people out there who may now be going into a tizzy about those two little words :)

Hi, I recently won an item on ebay.com and I have not paid for it yet, since I asked the seller some questions and did not answer me back, I do not know if the bag is authentic! It is an Armani Exchange star evening bag - basically it has a sequenced star and it is black leather. Inside there is a label apart from the silver metal a/x armani exchange one white that says 'Genuine Leather, Exclusive of Tri..(cannot see the rest of the word cause is hidden by the lining), Made in China, RN#91714 and CA#32528. What do you think?
