Find Out If You're Doomed for Divorce!

Comments

Hello Tyra,
I'm not so sure about the quizes but then again I would like you to know that I have been married for about 5 Years this year on New Years Eve.
Eventually my husband and I got married young and our first year didn't work out so well, but then as it went the second year things started to change and so now we're great! We have a 10 week old baby girl together. I don't think that it really matters about the finaces or if your parents are still married what matters is that you two loves each other. His parents are divorced and mines aren't. In life, relationship depends on how well you two do together and how willing you two are bond to do for one another. Relationship should be build on trust, and honesty.
Right now I am 17 years old and my husband is 20, You could probably guess how young we were. But hey, we're still together and doing better than ever!

Yeah I took the quiz and got 2 points. Ugh. We've only been married 5 months and it's falling apart. What did I get myself into?

hey tyra-
me and my boyfriend been together for 2 years n we have a 9 month baby together we love each other dearly we want to get married in a year but im afraid because we get in arguments about how he acts and i dont think i can take it he says he will change but sometimes i dont think he will, what do you think i should do marry him or should i wait

well i really cant comment on that but divorces arent good

Hi Tyra,
I've been married twice and each time my husbands died. I never been married over 2 years. I'm going to try it for the third time and this time i hope it last for the rest of my life. I'm 51 soon to be 52 and i will work at this marrige so i can be happy and experince the love so many of my friends have that have been married for alot of years. This man that i'm about to marry is a few year younger than i and i feel that he will keep me feeling young. I will keep you posted in the future. Oh, by the way i love you and your show.

Hello Tyra!!! Hey, I have to say I watch your show as much as I can!! Also., LOVE YOU! You are truly beautiful inside and out. You often make me cry with the sweet things you do and the topics you cover hit the emotional button.
I liked this quiz. I scored a five. I was married at 20 I am divorced since age 24. It just was not the right time/man. We were young and he was in the Air Force and learning to do his job and function in a whole new light. I was feeling like I was just playing house. Long story however, everything happens for a reason. Otherwise, I would not be where I am (and proud of me) today.
Keep up the hard work you produce such wonderful shows. Peace and love to you. Christine from Long Island.

Hey Tyra!
Hmm... a cosmo quiz? Yeah, they are more for fun than acuracy. I'm 22yrs. old, married 5yrs. have 3 kids, and make less than $50,000. My hubby and I are deeply in love and I get butterflies when he walks in the room. We had a very rough first year and also he is in the army so it makes married life harder. I think if you know who you are, what you want and keep realistic expectations a marriage can be successful. Like everything worth having, marriage is work and you can't be lazy and you must understand you can't change anyone. You must understand that the person who clipped their toe nails in bed before they said "I do" will still clip their toe nails in bed. You must accept that person 100% without the expectation that they will change. Deal with the issues that bother you before you make the big leap.

Hey!
I took the quiz and scored only 2. MY parents divorced after 41 years, I attended college and married before age 25. I have been married for 9 and half years and still going strong. I don't know about this one.

Hi.

I completely disagree with this. My husband and I have been together for almost 5 years now. I don't see how not going to college can really make that much of a difference. Just because we didn't hook up with tons of random people and go to keggers doesn't mean we're doomed for divorce.

I was 19 when I married and a mom to twin boys just after my 20th birthday. I had a girl six years later. I am proud to say that we are still married and looking to the future. I am not saying that it has been easy, but a friend is worth fighting for. We had no wedding, no honeymoon snd I do miss having my dad giving me away. I pray that one day I will get to have that. I will just say that my education has nothing to do with my marriage.

How do I try this myself I wanna know if I am doomed for divorce

I wanted to also say that I was really interested in not missing this show, but was very disappointed to find that some of two questions in particular were a bit misleading. I also agree that in some parts of the country it is not likely that one person in the family makes at least $50k a year. Where we live, housing and other costs are lower, therefore income is lower. I also thought that the age question was unfair. If you look back, many couples married well into their teenage years. They are now the ones that have been married 40+ years. I was disappointed that these two questions were worth the most points. However, as I think most of us will agree, I would never take this to heart because if anyone knows about my relationship with my husband, it would be me and my husband.

Oh wow! I have so much to say about this show. First of all though I love you Tyra you ROCK!!! Okay now lets get down to business. While I was watching this show I took the quiz on if I was doomed for Divorce and I had to disagree with my results. I am only 19 I go to college I have a part time job and my parents are divorced. Basically the quiz showed that I was doomed by my age. Not many 19 year olds make $50,000.00 a year. But I took into consideration a lot of other things too. My and my man have been together since we were in 9th grade almost 6 years and even though the quiz said i was doomed i dont believe it. Me and Jay (thats my mans name) have already been down bumpy roads. We disliked eachother at times but our love shined throught even the hardest of times. I know he's my soul mate and I know that we will get married. I wish you could feel what I feel just to understand where I am coming from. I had a bad childhood, in fact I feel like my entire childhood was skipped because I had to grow up quick to assume responsibilites that most people probably don't do. I seen my parent mariage evaporate, and even so, it makes me that more determined to make things work out. I would love to see how Jay would answer some of the questions that were asked on show, especially the shopping thing. lol But my b-day is right around the corner so if he decides to buy me clothes we'll see. Thanks for taking the time to hear my opinion Love your show!

Hi Tyra. My husband and I have been happily married for 15 years. We married at the ages of 22 and 20. We both come from divorced parents and lived together for 2 years before marriage. We have come through all of the odds and will have many more happy years to come. There is NOT 1 day we dont say I love you and we talk on the phone EVERYDAY while we work. We waited 9 years into our marriage before we had kids...we werent ready and I didnt want to share him.We now have 2 beautiful children and we still have an amazing sex life!!I only scored a 4 on the test and I just laughed!! I am sad that some will take this literally.

tyra gurl,
i could find no where else to put this comment, its a little more than a comment though.
its about martina mcbrides song. i saw that show and that song "anyway" gets to you in lots of ways. the part that got to me that made me cry was, "you can love someone with all your heart for all the right reasons and in a moment they can choose to walk away, love them anyway"
and it rilly answerd lots of doubts i had on the way i should act around a certain person. see, ive had this close friend since we were 4 and now that im 16 ive grown to love her uncontrolably. she was my best only friend but a few months ago she basicaly told me she didnt like me and for years she has not wanted to be my friend. and now everytime shes not around i say to myself that she doesnt deserve me and she doesnt know what shes missing and to let her go but when im around her i turn into a pushover i act like im handing her my heart. not that i dont want to be her friend but i dont want to at tha same time cause it hurt me now im bleeding, i got low self esteem, im questioning my personality and i feel like im worse than crap everytime im near her. so now that i hear this song im just gonna love the gurl and thats it, just let time heal the situation.
but tyra im not a bad person, i dont know what im doing wrong but as far as i know i was a good friend.

My husband and I met at age 12, married at age 19, will celebrate our 20th anniversary on 12-14-07, we
are still truly deeply in love, making love to each other is still awesome, but we only scored a 5 on the quiz and now both of us at the age of 39, we still plan to spend the rest of our life together maybe the quiz should updated

am i doomed

hey

Hello! How are you? Me I'm doing great. Anyway i want to tell you that i love your talk show and the America"s next top modle show. I want you to write me because its somethings that i need to share with you and since you've helped alot of young people maybe you can help me and i may can help you. since you said on the show that you do read these emails yourself, so i pray that you would write me back when you are free. Thanks God Bless!!!!!!!!!!!

i got married 2weeks before turning 24yrs old so, i've been married now for 3 wonderful years and have a 1yr old baby girl. my score tells me that iam doomed for divorce! im confused......

I found this show to be disturbing...years ago I used to love Cosmo's quizzes, but found this one pretty harsh. I am married (2nd time for both me and my spouse) and the questions calculated to 'Doomed for Divorce'. The questions were poorly chosen:
Attended College - Myself 2 years ( I couldn't afford to go for 4 years); my spouse didn't go to college, but he served in the US Military for 4 years (3 years overseas in Germany). Our annual income is 60k (I do not work - I am disabled; but my husband does; I do collect Social Security disability and contribute albiet a small amount, I contribute. Our religious affiliation is 0 - that should not matter. My husbands' mother is still alive - she survived colon cancer, but his father died a decade ago. My mother just died from breast cancer last year, a victim of Katrina and other attrocities. My father died when I was three - military accident.
We were both married previously.
You know, I appreciated the panel of 'judges', but really, what kind of audience are you targeting? 15 year olds?
