Hi Tyra,
I would love to start by writing to that you are doing a great job on everything that you do. I really do hope that you get the opportunity to read this as this means so much to me. You know that I saw what great things that you did for the daycare. I don't want to sound like just another person asking yoiu to come and fix up our joint. The thing is that I work for a non profit organiztion that helps adolescents to overcome their alcohol and drug abuse. Our agency caters to so many young kids all around our city. The things is the group rooms that we conduct our nightly meetings with the kids really don't look like much. I have so many ideas that I want for those rooms buy our budget is very limited on how to spend our money. So as yoiu might know by now the reason that I'm writing to you. I really do hope that you consider this as you next major project. My boss and I have great ideas but we are cornered on what to do. Thank you in advaced.

Hey Tyra, I want to take the time to thank you for remodeling the Purple room(now the rainbow room), in the Hudson Guild Childrens Center. I am an assistant teacher at the school, and also my daughter Shaila was in your show on September 10th. She was so happy to meet you personally and she also wanted me to thank you. I only got a chance to see the show for about 15 minutes because aside from working at the children's center, I also go to college at night. I was wondering if I could get a copy of the show that aired september 10th. Once again thank you. You are a true inspiration to everyone, especially my daughter. Tyra you really make a difference in peoples lives, with your genorisity, and compassion for peoples needs and situations. Welcome to Newyork!!! We all love you here!!

Dear Tyra,
I feel what you did for those children and their classroom was wonderful. I recently had closed my childcare center. It was very painful to do so considering most of the furnishings I got through donations, yardsales and with the help of family and friends. What I had was not always the best but I put a lot of love in decorating my class rooms with what I had. So I understand the feelings you must have from redecorating the "Rainbow Room".
Peace and blessings to you.

Hey Tyra I was just wondering...I don't think you named the school that was made over into the rainbow room but it looks a lot like the preschool that I attended 18 years ago when I lived in new york. That school was called Hudson Guild (sp?) Just wondering if that was it , it would be really cool if it was. My teachers aren't there anymore it looks like but I still remember those bars on the windows and I still have pics and memories there. Again it really looks like it and if you can tell me if it is that would be cool my curiosity would end. Thanks Tyra that was a beautiful thing you did for that school and the kids.

Hi Tyra,
Great work you are doing there. I am a guy from Kenya, East Africa, 19yrs old, and I am a great fun of your shows. I have tried sending you several letters but have not received any replies. I am an orphan from a family of six and I am the bread winner of the family. My five siblings all depend on me. I have to pay their school fees so I droped out of school myself so that I can look for odd jobs to support them and pay their school fees. We pay rent for the house we live in and life is a great constrain to me. Odd jobs are hard to come by here in Kenya and we sleep hungry for many days. My only hope was that you might help me as I have seen you help many others. I am very hopeful that you will read this, for you are my only hope for a better tommorow. I don't know who else to turn to. I have alot to say but hope you will get this and contact me if possible so that I can tell you all about me. Thank you.

Tyra,
Your show has really been a great influence. My family watch you as much as possible. I missed your daycare show and I am disappointed because I babysit and am looking for any idea possible to make it fun. I watch kids that there parents need someone at the last minute or have an emergency. I also watch kids whose parents do not have a lot of money but are trying to do it on their own. God bless you and keep up the good work.

Hi!!
My name is LaDonna and I am a 31 year old
child care provider. I loved your show about the
makeover that you did on the daycare; however I would like to talk to you about issues concerning day cares. Many of the families that we provide care for recieve government aid for child care and I feel that
the aid that some of these parents recieve is wasted
on them. Many families recieve this aid and they do not work and it clearly
states on the certificates
that the parents must work
in order to recieve this aid for child care. I guess
what really bothers me is that we are working so had
to help single and low income families that we
forget about our elderly.
Many of our elderly people
do not have health care or
ways to pay for medicines that they need daily and our government is less than
willing to help them, but they can help single parents who are able to
work but are not willing to
do so. I just would like to see the elderly treated
with more respect because some of them would like to
work and help themselves but are no longer able to
do so.

I heard that the show on daycarfe was really great. I missed the show due to doctor apppointments but I was a daycare provider/teacher for preschool children before my accident. I always searched for new and wonderful things for the children and classroom. I will try to see if I can watch this program on the internet. I am having trouble getting into it. Per my previous note to you, I find I cannot go back to working with children yet. I love working with children, maybe there's a place for me somewhere where the children are handicapped, too. Then we could work together!!

Tyra,
I love your show. Very inspiring programs. I wuld like to see a show on how handicapped people begin to fit into the real world again. I was in a terrrible accident over a year ago, spent most of 2006 in hospital & nursing home. I am living with my daughter and trying to get my ife back. I use a walker (leg problems) and wear a bandage on my neck to cover the trachea I still have to have to be able to breathe and talk a little. Mostly people are kind to me as I try to shop, get in and out of stores & car, but sometimes people are impatient and get irritable having to wait for me to get by, or have to wait until I can say what I need to say in a hoarse voice that is very difficult to hear me sometimes. How are others coping, and are there more support groups out there for people like me. There;s still a lot of places I cannot go to or feel comfortable at (like the movies) because of my walker and the slow pace I go. If possible put on a show about these things and how handicapped people accomplish living in the real world. I can't find work that someone may need to take the time to teach me in more detail and its difficult to find a place to live that is accessible, unless it is assisted living. I just signed up with an organization that is to help me get back into the work force with my handicaps and possible living arrangements. There seems to be a long waiting list to get help from them. Also alot of paperwork and bureacracy to get through. Thanks
