The beauties turned ugly Bettys couldn’t stand walking around the mall looking so plain, so they sat down in a corner to talk about the emotions that were emerging from their ‘ugly’ suits.

Thought the show was interesting. What foundation brand & color(s) did the makeup artist use on Lisa. I heard him say that it was silicone based and I have oily (bad) skin as well. She looked fab after he finished.

Ok, so I am one of the girls that was on the show. I just want everyone to know that it was fun and that the show was not negative in any way. The girls that had the makeover enjoyed the experience as well as the girls that got made under. Some of the show was "staged" and they kept telling us what to say. So now comment on that aspect of the show, not what we went through. We did not have any personal time with Tyra and the show seems as though we spent many hours with her. So, here ya go, you now have the actual aspect on the show!

I personally know the twins that were on the ugly betty trading faces show. WHat i think most of the people who watched the show dont know is that tv does a lot of editing. things that may have been said were portrayed as being said angrily or arrogantly. THe show is a guilty pleasure and I doubt that anything done on the show should really be taken seriously. These girls really did not feel the way that was portrayed-its called acting and ratings. It lured everyone in so the network did its job.

Hi tyra, im 12 years old. i say that you are an amazing woman. =DD I just have to say that we women, can be a little vain in how we look. and we need to put a halt to it. we need to come to a realization and say to ourselves in the mirror (For example) "okay, Jane(fake name), find at least 10 things that are flattering about your body. okay, my freckles compliment my green eyes and white smile,.." etc. and maybe think more on the positive side. and maybe even get help or guide from our girlfriends and/or sisters possibly. notice all the positive things about yourself and make it something that is a GIFT to have. besides, the LORD created you;so be happy. if you have lengthy arms, freckles, i mean, your body is also your personality. so if you start messing around with it,getting unreasonable amounts plastic surgery alters, then your personality will change. you will start being vain and might be really picky on things... so just embrace what you got and STRUT IT!!! i mean, we are not perfect humans. but if you're in a deep, dark, hole, and you need help, there is one man that will always say your beautiful and that my friend is the LORD.

beauty is what you feel inside aswell as how u look because if u feel ugly on the inside then u personaly don't think it is worth putting make up on and hiding youre self away. to be beautiful you have to feel good about your self not just look good. bcause if you dont feel good u lack self confidence and when u feel good you're self confidence goes up also.

I am so pissed at you, Tyra, because again you have missed the point and totally skipped over the most important part of building self-esteem. While you were adding prosthetics, putty, bad make-up and crappy, greasy hair to the pretty ones, you were only putting things on them that they did not have originally have. You went out of your way to "ugly" them up, using special effects and Hollywood make-up artists, but at no time did you tell the "unattractive" girls that everything they needed to be attractive they already had. You showed them that a good hair style, decent make-up and a great wardrobe was all they really needed in the first place. You provided them that, and suddently they were gorgeous, on the surface as well as inside. You didn't use your special effects people to add putty to their sunken cheeks to give them great cheek bones, you didn't give them veneers to correct ugly teeth, and you didn't stick a wig on them to cover up their oily and dull hair. You simply showed them how to use what they already had to look great. BUT, did you say that on your show? Nope. You went out of your way to humiliate women who had learned how to use what they NATURALLY had, and were doing a great job of it, and never told the "ugly" girls to please get off of their bottoms, stop whining, get some decent advice on hair care, wardrobe and make-up. Clearly, these so-called "unattractive" girls had the natural beauty alrready there, but just did not know, or want to, how to bring it out. They all had great role models in their sisters and friends but never took the time to ask them for advice, ask them for help, try and emulate them or take a really good look at themselves and say that "I can look like that, and all I have to do is learn how to make myself up better, learn how to dress better, learn how to find a decent hair style and learn to fend for myself rather than blame my sister or friend for where I am right now". Tyra, the one thing that you could have done, you did not. You did not point out to the millions of women (and men) who watch you that they have to take responsibility for themselves and use what they have to feel better about themselves. Your 'Glam Squad" simply took what these women already had, showed them how to accentuate it and showed them that they were beautiful all along. You didn't have to punish the women who were already using their natural beauty. What you should have done was include these ladies in the transformation, get them to help their sister or friend to bring out the beauty in themselves. Instead you humiliated and hurt them. Perhaps when you develop a theme for your shows, you should look at ALL the angles rather than just what 'makes good television'. You are a role model and what you are trying to do is wonderful, but please, plan these things a little better and bring out the real issues. For most of our problems, we need look no further than ourselves. We have the solutions within us, but it seems to be much easier to blame others for our troubles. My Gosh, Tyra, you had SISTERS and TWINS and it never occurred to you that if one half of the family can do it, and look great, then the other half already has all the tools they need to also look great?

Dear Tyra , you are always talking and teaching young girls/women to be happy with themselves and to have self-esteem. which is great. but i would like to know why YOU are not true to yourself, ever since you have had your show, you always WITHOUT FAIL have had hair weaves. you never have your own nature hair. WHY WHY WHY, so what if it maybe short, you could easily make it look beauitful with all your resource. what MESSAGE do you think that you sending to young africian-american girls. you are saying that our hair in its NATURAL or even semi-natural (relaxer) is not good enough or beautiful enoughfor you, as a representations of black beauty. so than how are young black girls suppose to beleive that they are beautiful in their natural state. don't get me wrong i not against wearing weaves on princpal. but this SHOULD not be your only respentation of your beauty (hair). there is an old africian proveb that says "a woman hair is her crowning glory" .well for whatever reason you have decided that your hair from african descent is not good enough for tv. instead always promoting weave wearing as if it is a birth right and promoting europe stands of beauty. what are you doing i mean really you don't have a clue on how it effects little black girls. i hear little blacks as young as 5yrs wanting weaves to be like tyra and beyonce.please please miss tyra, recgonise the power that god has given you and uplift little blacks girls arounds the world. although my comments may seem harsh, i want you to know that i am so very proud of you and what you have accomplished so far, keep it up.

Tyra-
I have to say, I don't agree with the logistics of this show. I think it's fine that you give a make-over to the girls who feel as though they are "ugly." But I don't agree with you that the "prettier" girls have to have a make-under. I thought that you wanted to build self-esteem, not lower it, which is what you did with the "prettier" girls. Since they already have the confidence, why try to make them feel as though they are less? They cannot help the way their sisters feel about them. It is tragic that the "uglier" girls have such low self esteem but it is not to blame on the sisters. It is not fair for them to fault all their facial features onto their sisters, who, obviously, had no say in the matter.

Hello Tyra,
I absolutely love your show, and the one today has hit closer to home more than you will ever think. I have a concern however. As I was watching the show, I did feel some remorse for the girls who felt ugly, because I too feel insecure, but truthfully, I don't think that you did anything for them that they couldn't do for themselves. I hated the fact that especially the "ugly twin" and the "beauty pagent girl". I felt that they are superficial, and that's not a good way to be. What you did for them was nothing that they couldn't have done for themselves, and not to mention they liked the fact that those poor girls who walked through their shoes were feeling horrible, and truthfully it was for nothing. I feel that you can't blame others for things they can't change, or help. And as you said it's not always the otter beauty that's what makes these women beautiful, and I truthgully think that those two woman needed to see that.

Tyra I was a little disappointed even a little angry with the direction of the show today. It started out with comment on Ugly Betty's character who is beautiful on the inside and knows it but her outside appearance isn't appreciated by some of the people around her. Then the focus shifted to women who had little self esteem, filled with resentment, jealousy and even anger. I don't see how hurting the object of their fixation by giving them makeunders would help anyone. The "pretty" women look liked they invested some time into the way they look. While the Ugly Bettys looked liked they have given up. A cute top and lipgloss can go a looooong way. When I feel bad about myself I try to do something about it.I fix my hair and put on my favorite pair of high heels (even when I am at home in pajamas).I don't selfishly burden others with my hangups like these women did.If I know that having bad skin (at one time in my life I did)made me feel awful why would I wish it on another? The only thing the Ugly Betty's on the show needed to do was put a little effort into the way they look.
