Baby’s First Haircut

Celebrity baby stylist Cozy Friedman offers these suggestions to make your baby’s first haircut a scream-free experience.
• Timing is everything: Make sure your child isn’t tired or hungry!
• Do your research: Choose a salon in advance and make sure they have kid stylists.
• Go prepared: Bring books, lollipops or anything else to distract your baby. He might not want to wear the cape so bring a change of clothes.
• Decide on a style with your stylist: Come in with ideas of what you want and go over them with your child’s stylist.

My 4-year old son Zoilo was watching this episode with me (rather than cartoons!), and suddenly blurted out "That's my girlfriend". I looked up, thinking he was talking about another child on the show, and said "Who is?". He pointed to Tyra and said "That's my girlfriend." I was giving him lunch, and I was inspired to tell him "You know, Tyra is really tall, taller than Mama. If she is your girlfried, you will have to eat your vegetables to grow taller." Well, he actually ate some green beans! Thanks, Tyra!
