Dear Tyra,
Let me start by saying that I love what you stand for. You not only are a beautiful person inside and out you have a way of making anyone who either watches your show or looks at a photo of you what to look and feel beautiful also.
Never would I thought I would post a comment to a celeberity only because Im not what you would call "Star Struck" but i felt the need to let you know how much you inspire me. Im mostly doing this for my daughter, who's a BB 13 year old who is smart and just going thru some things. So I wanted some information on your t-zone camo cause I think she could really benefit from you and the camo. So if possible can someone hit me back with an e-mail on how to registar and get it stgarted for her.
thank you girl and keep doing you boo!!!!!

HI TYRA
I AM SO BLESSED TO KNOW
THAT YOU USE MONEY TO HELP OTHERS, THAT IS ALSO A PASSION OF MINE!
A FEW YEARS AGO I SEEN A COAT THAT I WANTED FOR $80.00. I REFUSE TO PAY THAT AMOUNT FOR ANYTHING.
A FEW MONTHS LATER I WALKED INTO A FIVE DOLLAR STORE AND FOUND THE
S A M E COAT FOR FIVE DOLLARS.
BUT HERE'S MY NEED:
I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OF THREE CHILDREN. I HAVE BEEN CLEAN AND SOBER FOR SEVEN YEARS AND HAVE GONE THROUGH THE WELFARE REFORM.
I HAVE EXCELLENT PHONE INTERVIEWS BUT I BELEIEVE THAT BECAUSE I WEIGH A LIL' OVER 300 POUNDS, THEY DONT HIRE ME.
I HAVE PLANS TO WRITE A BOOK AND START A BUSINESS.
FOR YEARS GOD WORKED ON THE INSIDE AND I BELIEVE THAT IS WHERE TRUE BEAUTY IS. I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT!
I WAS HEALED FROM DIABETES AND HAVE CHANGED MY EATING HABITS . I NEED CARDIO. I BOUGHT A TREAD MIL THAT COST ME $700.00 BUT THE MOTOR WAS TOO SMALL FOR MY WEIGHT. SO I RETURNED IT AND BOUGHT MY CHILDREN A BED AND A GUITAR AMP FOR MY SON.
AND I CANT GO TO THE GYM BECAUSE GETTING THERE IS A MISSION IN ITSELF. I PRICED A TREAD MIL THAT WIIL LAST ME A LIFE TIME. IT IS ON WWW.FITNESSBLOWOUT.COM
ITS THE
CARDIO ZONE FAST TRACK FOLD AWAY HOLDS 400 POUNDS
ACTUALLY ITS LESS THAN 1,500 AND MONTHLY PAYMENTS OF 50$ THAT I C A N
MAKE BUT I DONT HAVE THE CREDIT TO GET IT TO MY HOME. ONCE I LOSE THE WEIGHT AND THE MONEY STARTS COMING IN
I WOULD LIVE TO MAKE A CONTRIBUTION TO TZONE AND MAYBE EVEN BE ON YOUR SHOW.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR "KEEPING IT REAL"

Hi Tyra,
My name is Joyce and for such a long time I have wanted to write and tell you That God has truly blessed you with a minitry that is ver unique. You so so much into peoples lives that brings about a new meaning for those who really take notice to what you are trying to do. The word of God says that what so ever a man sows in life that will he also reap. And I have watche you do such outstanding work in peoples lives to transform the way they see themselves. We as people men as well as women have inner issues inwhich prevent us for being the whole total person God wants his children to be. Those very same issues are the ones that hold us back or prevent us from prospering in life the way God truly wanted us to prosper. But you try to improve and make people aware of who they really are. You really have a shepherds heart. I really hope that you are rooted and grounded in a Bible based church that God will continue to raise you up to be the women of God that you are already taking part in. Gods desire for his people is that we be of service to others but most of all that we LOVE one another the same way he loved us when he died on the cross for our sins. I wanted to encourage you today Tyra and let you know that I love you and what you do for my brothers and sisters all over the world.
PS
I saw the Mark Jacobs bag you gave to our anchor women here in Washington, DC.. I was waiting to see if you were really going to send her a bag back. And as I thought you did not and would not send her a used bag. Givers like you and myself operate in excellence and what you give would be the same as you would have for yourself. Tyra continue to allow yourself to be of service to God continue to let him use you to be a light in others life. The reward for a servant is unmeasurable.
Luv Ya!!

Dear Tyra, I just finished watching the show that aired on Sept.7 and cried through the entire show. You see,my daughter has anorexia and bulimia and has been suffering with her eating disorders for 6 years now. She doesn't have an addiction to drugs, thank goodness. I felt both the girls' pain and the familys' pain. My daughter Nikole is 18 and once was a happy child. since the disorder there have been no signs of happiness. She has also been diagnosed with depression, anxioty disorder, and o.c.d. But honestly I don't know which came first, the chicken or the egg [the eating disorder or the other disorders.]My daughter feels that she is the disorder, not that she has a disorder. She hates herself so much and I think she gets that from both the abuse she recieved from her father and the abuse she got when she was put into a local psyciatric hospital a year ago. After she got out of there she spiraled down, down, down. She still has nightmares about the awful experience she had there. Because of that she trusts no one, especially doctors, hospitals and me. I'm so glad the young lady on your show excepted your help, my daughter never would, her fears are too strong. Thanks for having that show, please have more like it. And please don,t think that the people who suffer with addiction are lazy and looking for the easy way out. There is nothing easy about drug addiction or eating disorders, which is also an addiction. thank you again Tyra, your wonderful. Another desperate mother watching her daugerter slowly die, Joanne

For the first time I REALLY saw me in someone else....My struggle: my weight, my body, my self esteem. I have always had it. Mirrors are as nonexistant as possible in my daily routine. I can't bare to stare inthe mirror..What I see is just hideous!! anorexia and use cocaine to manage my appetite. I wake up to cocaine and go to sleep with at least 5 or 6 tylenol pm's... i have always had problems sleeping but with the cocaine it makes it worse. I want to stop it but at the same time I can't get fat..im already disgusting and adding being fat to it is just not okay! If I fear anything in life it is becoming really..FAT! It is the one thing that regardless of how disgusting I am, I can help and control..I just turned 21 but my weight, my look in general, has been an issue since 12..my deepest darkest secret...that I wish someone could REALLY know!!so, I can be okay, not feeling disappointed because I opened my eyes another day..so, that I can get help!! I have distanced myself from everyone but noone understands why....if they only knew...I just want to be okay. I dont want to hate myself! I'm drained
I would just like to add..I know one thing you had mentioned was that you thought people like me were just taking the lazy way out...I dont excuse what I have turned into but at the sametime I also go to the gym..I workout, it isn't enough...
Regardless, I do admire you..love every aspect of ur person...just wanted to give u a different perspective!

HI,
I was goign through TZONE section and I am really touched by your contribution to facilitate young girls and women. I am a Women Studies major in Hunter college and my aim is to Join UN for Women some day and be able to enhance my skills , so I can give back to my community (NEPAL). With my education and work skills, I aspire to open a couselling centre back home for kids who have suffered from sexual, emotional or physical abuse. Such issues are overlooked; therefore, I am focusing on it to be a top priority. Wish me luck TYRA! You are one of my Inspirations.

Dear Tyra,
I was watching your show today because of the topic. I really need to say that your are very harsh. You try to make yourself come off as sympathetic, but you come across to many of us as mean. I think you are beautiful and think it is very admerable that you accept your body and try to help others. Tyra... Have you ever been addicted to any substance to make you thin? Have you ever been addicted to anything? Maybe you could really put yourself in our place for a minute. It seemed like you were preaching to these women and acting like they were lazy and stupid! It hurt to see you talk the way you did at the end of the show. We aren't all as perfect or accepting of ourselves as you are!

Wow, that was a very scary show. For a wile it looked like that girl didn't want to fight for her life. It is frightening to see someone that deep. I will pray for her recovery and if she dose well, I hope you will bring her back on your show.
I am really looking forward to you new show in NY Monday. I hope you have a great weekend Tyra and take good care of yourself. I love you, your the very best!!

To Tyra:
I found this somewhere on the interent.
wen ppl like jaslene win.. it's promoting anerexia because ppl wanna be like her i mean if natasha won she looked okay as in the body shape and ppl wouldn't want to be anerexic as much as this model promotes it... not saying she wants to promote it but because she is skinny it seems she is promoting it
absolutely horrific.
what's up with the whole "we want models to be healthy!" and then letting her win?
When was the last time a plus-sized model won americas next top model????
Honestly this picture makes me SICK!!!! It is so sad because it totally gives girls the impression that it is okay to look like you are a walking eating disorder!!!! She should not have won because now look what she has done! She has shown everyone that it's okay to be a sickly disgusting skeleton!!!! SICK!!!!!!!!
I totally agree.... Jaslene looks soo unheathly. If I were to look up to her I will probably be blumic or aneorxic. She wants to be a role model to young girls??Girls will want to be a skinney as her.
You said you wanted to potray healthy images on top model?.. You wanted the models to be healthy??
What happened to plus sized girls???
This is hurting our young girls self esteem not helping it.

Tyra, Thank you so much for most of your subject matter, being a woman of larger size it took me a long time to love me for me. But with the help of my faith in God and the support of my family I have worked through it and I have losted 60 pounds. I will never be a size 8 for that matter I'll never be a 10 but I'm happy being a 14. I'm a 52 year old grandmother that people tell me I look like I'm 42 so I guess that's o.k. I was wondering if I could get the information on making the lotions that you had on the show from Carolsdaughter. I tried to get it from her web site but it wasn't there. Thank you so much.

Commenting on todays show about being addicted to thin. I would first like to say that it really is not that hard to be the beautiful person that we all are! Our looks do not define our soul, but it is natural to want to look attractive.....we just can't let it define us. I think something that is important is to learn about our whole bodies....if we do not get the adequate vitamins we need or we are dehydrated and not sleeping, our skin will look awful. We need some muscle so we can look sexy. I think moderation is important. we really do not have to work out like triathaletes, we can work out small amounts and still look and feel good. We can go to the gym and join a class and make exercise a social thing. You can treat yourself with coffee and a small sweat, and study nutrition so you stay healthy. I hope the people on todays show did not feel like total victims, because its true, looking good is something most people want, we just need to know how to do it the right way. WE need to be positive...Hey think of going to spas. If you have extra energry you need to vent out, why dont you paint, watch a good movie, dance, sing, call a friend, look at the stars. If you had a pet or baby, you'd treat them so well, so why not do it for yourself. It helps to know others are out there for you, things can always get better. I think sometimes people hate themselves, and use self-destructive behavior to help them cope. Everyone out there deserves to have a good life. You are not lazy, you are a beautiful person, who should believe in themselves no matter what anyone sais about you....
Take care, Drink plenty of water and crystal light, hehe and remember there are always good things to look forward to. Take care! you are beautiful

High fashion magazines are still – in 2007, no less – being criticized for not accurately representing the true racial and ethnic diversity and age range of their readers' population. And although many would argue modeling just requires a certain body type, much like certain sports or dance, there are still the critiques who contend the homogeneous super-skinny look favored by editorial fashion is a restrictive idea of beauty.
On television, though, since Tyra Banks introduced the hit series America's Next Top Model, it's getting to the point that you can't swing a hair dryer without hitting yet another modeling show, including some that seek to portray a different look than the one featured in Vogue or Elle.
Now, as seems to happen every few weeks lately, there is yet another new modeling show in the works with another slice of the demographic pie represented.
America's Next Top Model, of course, started the modeling show craze, and Tyra does make an effort to cast models from different ethnic and racial backgrounds and of varying body types. Her model hopefuls also tend to skew a little older than most new models are when first starting out. However, this might be more a factor of restricting the show's liability by only casting those who are over the age of eighteen, rather than representing a desire on Tyra's part to open up the high-fashion modeling world to older models.
For older models, though, there is the show, 35 and Beyond Super Model Search. If you're a little outside the plus-size range that Tyra is willing to accept for America's Next Top Model (and “plus-size” Sarah from the next Cycle is reported to be a size 8, so that definition is literally shrinking), it's more precisely a beauty pageant than a modeling show, but there is Monique's F.A.T. Chance.
If you're a guy, Bravo's Make Me a Supermodel, which will throw men into the mix. And if you legitimately have the face, the figure and the fierceness to actually make it in the real high-fashion model world? There's A Model Life, and if you get signed to an agency, maybe you'll be featured on The Agency.
If you've actually got what it takes to be a real model, but also feel a burning desire to have your brains as well as your beauty featured on a nationally-televised reality television show, finally, finally, there is a show for you.
VH1 has announced that on October 7, 9pm Eastern, they will air the premiere America's Most Smartest Model. Fourteen models – male and female – will compete in challenges that will test their brains and require modeling hotness. The prize is $100,000 and the somewhat dubious honor of the title of America's Most Smartest Model. It does not have quite the same ring as America's Next Top Model, does it?
No doubt during the time this article was written, another network programming executive had the bright idea to air America's Second-Best Left-Handed Brunette Model with a Lateral Lisp, or its equivalent, to fill some open primetime slot and BuddyTV will keep you updated once that premiere is announced.

Hi Tyra,
I was watching the show today with Nicole Ritchie and really commend you on showing the audience what it is like to be stalked by the paparazzi. I don't think just because someone is a celebrity and in the public eye, this excuses all any conduct of this profession.
I think it is important to remember WHO perpetuates this conduct. It is your audience and consumers in general who buy the magazines and watch the celebrity shows that publish these photos. And their are many advertisers who get rich advertising in these publications. I'm sure you are well aware of the industry machinations - more than we are.
I propose that the American consumer stop buying these publications/ watching these shows and therefore stop condoning the behavior. I realize that this would have a major economic affect to some of your advertisers and many people won't have the courage to take a stance like this. But I feel sure that this would do the trick.
Better yet, with your amazing influence on young women, why not start a campaign to get these jerks off of celebrities backs - create a slogan, a t-shirt (profits go to a good cause) and make it truly cool to give back, if not full privacy, at least restored boundaries of personal space.
I'm tired of hearing about the personal lives of celebrities...we all have the SAME problems.
Let's celebrate talent, hard work, and celebrities artistic success, not this morbid fascination with all of the intimate details of their lives. Consumers can contribute to changing this, I'm convinced. But it takes courage and a critical mass of people to change. Perhaps you could lead this????

Tyra,
This was a really hard show to watch. I wanted to scream and yell at YOU. For someone who does not have a low self esteem, you have no idea what it's like to feel ugly, fat or just different and so desperate to fit in or just be pretty. Some ladies would be willing to do almost anything to just fit in, and feel happy and satisfied with who and what they are. You have no right to call us lazy, or anything like that!!!! What you did on that show was add to the list of things to feel bad about. A lot of women watch your show because they look up to you. And now what kind of message did you just send to those people who are tying to get their life together and trying to “SO WHAT” there way threw feeling fat, ugly and different.

Tyra,
I watched your show a few times. You seem like a really nice lady. On the contrary, you are so damn superficial. i.e. On the show Im wathchin right now you are askin people if they are self conscious about their rough hands or their dry feet. Come on woman. There is more to life than that. Some people are missing limbs, others are abused...and you deal with the most materialistic insignificant issues possible. Get yourself out of this mindframe. Read some quality books, open your eyes and address the real issues in life you naive, money-hungry dumbass.

I think that the TZONE foundation is an amazing thing for people in need! i am maybe on the more wealthier side and only 14 years old but I love helping others in need and when I get someone something to help them survive, I love to see that huge smile on their face and seeing how happy just a tinny thing can make them so happy! So I am donating 50 dollars a month for these people in need and I hope that everything that I am trying in my hope will be great! I am so glad that Tyra my idol, my supermodel, I am the biggest fan in the world that you would have to see to believe and trust me I can prove it. I would do anything that I am able to help kids in need! When I see them on the street begging for money or barley have any thing to eat and I have everything in the world that I could possibly want it kills me so much inside to see that people out there are living a life like that! Thanks so much!! Much love!!

Love Always Steve

Hey Tyra,
I'm a sophmore in college and i'm taking a communications class. For my persuasive speech I will be talking to my class about your "So What" campaign. I would love to get a quote about what your goal is with this campaign. I would love to have a direct quote to explain how important this is to you and other women.

Tyra,
You are an amazing person! I love your show. I think that it is so great that you really care about people. I just saw "Addicted to thin" and I commend you on helping Melissa. I wish that other "famous people" were like you. God Bless you!

Hi Tyra,
I was watching the show today with Nicole Ritchie and really commend you on showing the audience what it is like to be stalked by the paparazzi.

Much love!!
