The comment she made about the COACH bag is false. I have that same bag in 'khaki' and it has the leather strap down the center. I purchased it directly from the COACH store.

I just awted to say that I was working this weekend, when this young girl came in carrying a Chanel bag. Just like the one u were talking about. When I saw it the first thing that came to mind was fridays show, this one, with the spot a fake segment. When she opened the bag to retrieve her wallet I peaked to see if it was Pink or black inside, Guess what, FAKE!!! it was a little hard to spot the crooked lettering while she was holding it, but the Lining was definately something I remembered from the show. lol. All I can say is, your "friend" is crazy, but at the same time I can relate to her (assuming she is a girl). We try so hard to look good-not for others but for ourselves- that we get the things that looks as close to what we are looking for; I know I do. I am a mother of one and I just can't afford to pay for one of those bags, but atleast I know what to look for whenever I have saved enough money to perchase one. Ha, Ha.:)
For now, I will continue to shop at target, Sears, Burlington Coat Factory, and find the cutest bags they got and "rock it"

Hey Tyra, i watched your show on finding the fakes bags out there and let me tell you i am a Coach FREAK! I also like to buy myself a little bit less expensive guess bag now and again. It is my secret passion to buy these bags. However after watching your show i decided to go through my bags i have collected over the years. (which btw i have decided i have too many and i will be giving the ones that i have not used for over 3 months to the Goodwill) so anyways back to the fakes. i was going through my coach bags and i was shocked to see that one of my favorite hobo coach bags was fake. i cant actually remeber where i bought it i usually only buy bags at the actually store the post exchange here on the base that i live on (yes they sell designer bags) or my local macy's (i think i might have gotten this one at macy's) but i was looking and on the inside of all of my coach bags there is the coach lable the i like to call it book in a purse my husband enjoys reading the fine lines inside lol. but i was soo upset because i know i paid over 500 dollars for this bag. so i immediatly got on the internet to do some investigating. and well yah it was a fake there were spots on the purse where the c's were cut off and it said that coach would never do it. I almost cried. lol. but your show was very helpful and if i had of watched it i would have never found that fake in my collection.. love the show tyra keep it up!

I just wanted to disagree with the comments I saw stating that there is nothing wrong with buying a fake bag, because not everyone can afford the real thing. I am in school for a bachelor's degree in fashion design. As a designer-in-training myself, I can say that knock-offs not only show great disrespect for the designer, but most fake bags are produced in sweat shops. If you can't afford the real thing, then go buy another brand, such as Guess, that is a little less expensive. Don't steal from the designer.

Loved your show! I also wanted to let people know that with the chanel bags, if the diamond designs don't match up with eachother on the sides of the purse, that also means that it's a fake. And with coach bags, read the inside labels they put in most of their bags. If just one word is spelled wrong in it, it's a fake. Just wanted to let you know that!

I watched your show on the fakes. I really enjoyed it. I bought a Louis Vuttion purse at a yard-sale 1 year ago, I knew that it was fake. But, it looked like the real thing. I took a look at it and yep its fake. Keep the show real..I love it! I watch it everyday!!!!!!

Tyra, I missed the show yesterday. You and Susan did a great job of informing people how to spot fake and genuine bags. I think it's useful info to people who loved designer bags. So they will not be scam. I personally don't own one, simply because cannot afford it.

I was extremely disappointed in how the information on counterfeit handbags was presented. It all seemed like a big joke and many of the comments could actually encourage people to buy fakes, i.e. "This Gucci bag cost $1,500, this fake one only $100, can you even tell the difference?" and "my friend carries fakes" Tyra's forum provides a great opportunity to persuade and to get good information out there, unfortunately I feel the time was wasted.

Please devote a future show to an expose of the counterfeiting industry and who this is hurting. Perhaps if the topic of a future show is reasons why NOT buying fakes actually matters (supporting organized crime and child labor, for example) then the potential damage done by yesterday's show could be curtailed. I sincerely hope that you will do this follow-up.

Hi Tyra, I love your show! I had one experience with a loui bag and i bought it in Atlanta. I love goin out of town buying things because I hate looking like everyone else. I saw this bag that I liked and I bought one. I just had this funny feeling that this purse was fake. Well I live in Charlotte N,C and we were gettin a Loui store in our mall and I said i'm goin to take this to them and have them examine it. I did and sure enough they said that it was not real. I felt embarassed and the only thing that made me feel better was to buy one that day and I did, I bought a purse, wallet and key ring. I askd what was the difference , I was told the micro fiber has to be inside and to look hard at the stitching and the hardware and the feel of the leather. and all those bright colors are not real. They have people who do those designs handmade and most of the time they are on back order and even the celebs cant get them as quickly as you see everyday people walking around with them. I mean you see people carrying big duffle bags around and they are getting on the city bus. That is hilarious!

I just watched your show on fakes. I remember all to well when the LV craze began and I wondered how are all these people getting these purses and my friend answered ebay. So, I decided to treat myself by buying one for my birthday on ebay, and when the purse came I was very happy at first, but upon further examination of the purse I noticed that it was clearly a fake. I contacted the seller and they assured me that I would get a refund; so I sent the purse back and never got my money back. I did take pictures of the purse and even had a video of it. I saved the emails about the whole ordeal as evidence to take them to small claims court. I contacted The Judge Mathis Show and I even received a call back, but I when I was asked did I have her contact information I told them I didn't have it because I was not home. I was at the salon and I did want to say that that was the reason I couldn't get the info. I think she did not take me seriously and she never called me back. I even looked of the seller's info and called them and they never returned my call and I even told them that the purse was for my birthday and they did not care, but it was along time ago and I am now over it. One tip that I have noticed for buying on ebay is that if the person uses catalogue pictures instead of pictures that lets you know that it is actually in their possession, then it is more than likely a fake.

Oh my goodness...I saw your show today and on fake bags and I may have a delimma, I purchased that same GUCCI bag you performed an autopsy on and nearly died. I ran to the closet and got my bag purchased from SAKS FIFTH with proof of purchase and I feel like I may have a fake. Listen too it, I purchased the bag in Feb 2007 and went on a cruise in July and my bag accompanied me. Upon returning home I neatly placed my unworn bag back in it care bag and box from Saks on to find fuzz and some stiching issues, so because this is an expensive bag I returned to saks to have it looked at and my experience goes left. I was given a repair receipt and no repairs or reason for why this expensive bag less then six months old, looks fake what did they think I ran it over with a MAC truck. Girl can you help me? I went to NYC around Aug 31-Sept 3 with my family.China Town is where you get all the fake bag.I loved China Town.

OMG you are right.This guy came up to us on the street and said"Do you want bags?". It was really hard to understand him tho.

He took us down to this apartment and locked the door and took us around into this other door and locked.He turend the lights on and put on the fan!

Man Tyra I was freaking out.First of all he locked both doors I thought he was going to like kill us or something.I ended up buying a fake coach black bag, coach wallet, and my sisters bought a different brown coach bag, wallet, and a channel bag.I love designer bags!

Guess What? We bought more purses.In China Town there was this huge shop thingy with tonss of desinger bags.I bought one for $20.I got ripped off because the purses and wallets we bought me and my siter bought cost like $120 cash.

There was a Brazilian party thingy on the streets.I went to it with my family. I bought another purse and my sister bought a "Docla and Gobanna Purse".

My friend went to NYC and she told me she almost got in troubble with the police because they found out about the purses.They said I never want to see you guys buy that agian.I was soooo scared now!AHhhh...

My dad told me that they are illegal in France and you can go to jail.

Again you are INCORRECT and WRONG. Don't you have researchers or a legal department that you should speak with before you spew inaccurate information that makes the Tyra Show look even worse (if that's possible)?

You insult US Customs Agents, federal law enforcement and US consumers when you post something, and state something so inaccurate.

Why don't you do something constructive, like warn the minors that are posting on this blog to NOT post their email address on a public blog for their own safety.

Everything I've seen and heard today has convinced me that consumers that care about counterfeits and their sales funding terrorists that are trying to kill our servicemen should write to Warners and demand that Tyra be taken off the air.

Please copy and paste the law where it is legal to purchase a counterfeit item. You ARE incorrect. It is legal to own one. It is not legal to purchase one nor is it legal to sell one.

What a shame for someone who is viewed as a role model for young women to make a joke about counterfeit items and her friend who uses them! So much good could have come out of this show had Tyra educated people on the terrorism that the sale of fakes support or the child labor that goes into making them. No mention was made of the many dishonest sellers who peddle this junk as "authentic" and sell it for prices that rival what the real deal can be had for. Instead of focusing on the points that could have had an impact on impressionable young ladies, you made jokes about the poor construction and improper details, much of which was incorrect or incomplete.

Thank goodness I am not a regular viewer of this show. Now I shall boycott it. Word of mouth can be the best or the worst form of advertising -- hopefully, it will be your worst form!

I may be young, but I think that your show is truly amazing. You don't just educate those who watch, but you put some spunk in it to! The episode about "Tyra's Teenville" really made me think. I thought about how I've fought with some of my friends over political or religious disagreements in the past, and how most adults don't think that teens really talk about that stuff, when they really do. When Ashley stated that she wasn't a virgin, I was surprised, but I didn't judge her by it, and honestly, it made me kinda mad that some of the teens did judge her by that, but I understood why they did it. And when another stated that he was gay, I was proud of him for saying it with pride because I know many are very rude to those who choose to be gay or lesbian. But hopefully, now parents know that they're kids do go through similar problems they encounter also, and may be more understanding of why teens don't always want to talk to their parents about their problems. If their friends don't understand, why would their parents.

Tyra its very easy for someone like you (rich) to tell someone like me (not rich)not to purchase a knockoff handbag. Everyone wants to be in fashion and if the celebrities are wearing the latest then we all want the latest. Thats just the way it is. I just wanted to let you know how much you have empowered me to be a better role model myself. A year and four months ago I had fraturnal twin boys and being only 5'3and 1/2" tall and size 3 pants i expanded perfusely. I carried full term and a cesarean was scheduled only two weeks early it looked as though i had a watermelon or 2 basketballs inside me, I had and almost 5 pounder and an almost 7 pounder pull out of me and a year later i felt horrible, i always had sexy abs and now just flabby skin is wrinkling underneath i built strong abs trying to make it dissapate, i saw your show and i feel so what my belly is not the same and probably will never be the same , I have two miracles who were inside me and love every moment!! Tyra, I wanted to tell you that I am very proud to see a young black women who is worthy of being a role model to young women all over the world keep up the good work. Now my question is what do you suggest to someone who wants to model but is not so young. I am 29 years old (I look about 20) I have always wanted to model but never had the money in the past to get things started (compcards/pictures). I am 5'6 1/2 so I usually miss the height requirements to get involved with many agencies. I am currenty with a casting agency but again the height comes in to play. Got any advice for someone not wanting to give up on there dream?

hay tyra! i think that you should feature christina aguilera on your next show. she is such a great role model for young women everywhere. her lyrics are empowering and gives strength to the people out there going through the same situations and issues she sings about. her courage to talk about a rough childhood and an abusive dad made me admire her even more. and not only is she a beautiful women inside and out, but she has such an AMAZING and powerful voice.

I'm a big fan of yours and I love your show. I have one question, how can i get into modeling even though I'm short?

Ok so whats really cool, is I found my REAL LV purse at GOODWILL! In total I have paid 30 bucks. 5 for the purse and 25 for the handle being reattached and for the zipper to be fixed. The things to look for:
If it has NO leather on it, its fake. LV has complete leather parts on their purses, nothing else. Including the purse body. The entire thing should be leather, leather, and more leather!
If the inside pockets are stitched it, its fake. LV tends to use a "glue" that keeps it in place.
Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents it!! :)

You missed a few things on your presentation on Louis Vuitton.

A real Louis Vuitton will never have tags attached to it (usually tags are placed in the pocket or in the box).

A real Louis Vuitton will not have a "green envelop and card" or a yellow card with it.

Finally, a Louis Vuitton will never have a yellow disk with a string on it.

Your show on fakes was about one of the worst disservices I've ever seen to those that fight counterfeit sales in the US daily.

I will never watch your show again after the FALSE information you gave and the message that it was o.k. to buy counterfeits.

What if u really cant tell thah is why tyra's telling people how to tell the difference . I cant afford them but i save ocassionaly

Your show was great today on spotting fakes, made me realize I had bought 3 fake L.V. on ebay. I sure which I would have been at your show for this one. I would have had 3 chances for the Gucci. I guess no more shopping on ebay.

What a great show on fake handbags! I learned was "it's ok to buy fake bags" and "an LV is fake if the logo cuts of on the bag."

Guess what... FALSE!!

Also, I realize Forever 21 is "friend" of the show, but Tyra wishing them luck in their lawsuit is like saying "Gee, sorry you got caught, but hopefully you'll get out of it."

I have never seen SO much misinformation in a show in my life. Are there actually researchers that work for this show? Because what I saw was tired, recycled mistruths.

Ok, for the record, many Louis Vuitton bags have the LV logo cut off just due to the inherent shape of the bag. It would be impossible for a LV to never be cut off.

And here is something that was never mentioned. It is a FELONY to purchase a counterfeit ANYTHING! Have some responsibility...do some research.

Hello, Tyra. I'm a huge fan of your show, and America's Next Top Model.

So last night I saw the show you did on domestic violence in same-sex relationships, and I thought it was a great show. I was so happy you decided to do a show on it...or that ANYONE did a show on it for that matter.
Being part of the gay community, I could really relate to the guests.

Although I have never been in a relationship like that, I was able to recognize that I have a temper....and have taken steps to work on that.

for me is still not clear wich one is a fake and wich one is real cus i have look around in the stores specially at the coach and some of them have the logo coach inprinted inside and some of them dont and i dont think macys would be selling fake purses
