only Asian girl that goes in there. She charges 25$ per a row.. And you have to buy your own hair.. I love her! And Ilove extensions!

So I have the curlyest hair on the face of then planet and it is super thick. I can't do anything with it, it is sooo annoying. I would love to straighttn it every night but no one is up for the 2 hour challenge and when i do it by myself it takes like 3 hours. I was thinking about cutting it shorter and then straighten it but it might look weird. HELP HELP HELP. When i saw the makeover's on ANTM i was like omg i wish that was me. hi, i live in los angeles. my question is that I have the worst time trying to find the perfect hair stylist. I've been to 3 different stylists,and my hair just seems to get shorter and shorter. I have seen your show many times. You truly are an inspiration for women and girls of all ages. You help to touch on every issue in life. I think the most touching documentary you did was with the little girls who believed they were fat. I see that everyday in life at my high school. I too am one of those girls. You helped me to see that i should be comfortable with my body and what god has blessed me with. My famil has never been rich nor will we probably ever be. My brother was 19 years old when he was diagnosed with weigener's vasculitis granulomatosis. His disease eats away at his health and we are still struggling 4 years later to pay off the bills from his first hospital visit. My sister is in college and is struggling with it. She says she hates it their but she doesnt want to give up on her dreams. With the income my family has you can imagine the things we go through to make it year to year. So far everyone in my family has had their chance to shine and do something big. My brother's life was saved when he was diagnosed/ He stopped doing many things that lead him down the wrong path. I have the deepest care for my family because throughout the years they hve been the only ones i could truly count on. At age 12 i was molested in my sleep by my cousin. The thought alone of my family falling apart kept me from pressing charges. Me and my sister's real father has never really been there for us. He stopped seeing us when i turned 12 also. Things have never been the same since. He told me i was a mistake and that the constant reminder of having the sam birthday made him sick. It's hard for me to go day to day hearing about all the loving families in the world when i know my life will never be like that. I'm a strong girl though and have made it through a lot. Now it's my senior year in high school and all i want is to come out a new person inside and out. I have already made the transition inside myself but not on the outside. Two and a half years ago i died my hair for the first time. It was supposed to be slightly darker than my natural color, but ended up being black. I spent the next two days before school stripping, bleaching and re-dying my hair back to a normal color. I cut my hair not long after that because of the damage. Since then my hair has remained one length.Not because i want it to, but because it will not simply grow, or it just breaks off at a certain point. So i started toying with the idea of hair extensions. I have found someone who does the paris hilton dreamcatcher extensions. They are said to not be damaging to the hair..i was so relieved when i found this out but as soon as i set up a consultation and found out the price my heart sank back into my stomach. My family doesnt have near enough money to pay for something like that. I know people say its just hair but for so long my hair was my protection from the world it seemed. It was the only thing i truly loved about myself...and now its gone. It's completely damaged beyond repair, so much that it wont even stay straightened no matter how much product i put into it. Tyra i just want my hair back...i want to change the ouside of me to match the inside. I want a new beginning in the world. I want to leave the past behind. It's my senior year and i want to look as amazing as i feel and the only thing holding me back is my hair insecurities......and knowing that i finally found what i was looking for in dreamcather's only to be let down.

I see how much work you put into continuously helping women be comfortable with themselves and it has truly been an inspiration.

I see the huge boost of confidence that it gives and I would like the same. The only difference is, I have never seen a segment on your show about cleft lip and pallets. I have both and have been put to shame for that. Please help me find a way to minimize the appearance of this. I would greatly appreciate this.

Just watching this episode a few days ago broght back childhood memories that my mom was right.
I am the proud owner of 28 inches of full real locks. At 27 I am happy I was blessed with full THICK hair(from my Native American Heritage) now but when I was yonger I wished I didn't have thick hair. Every morning I would grip about its to thick fighting to put my hair in a pony tail or hair pin.
Then I would hear my mom say you know how many women in this world would love/kill to have hair as thick as yours. Being a smarty pants I'd say let them come take it from me I don't want it!!!

I was taking a stroll in a local mall, seen some hair extentions by Jessica Simpson that costed $150 buck for weave. I am not gonna complan only if I get knots in my hair.

I just wanted to say that you are such a great role model out there!! Now a days it is hard to find someone like yourself!! I love watching your show!! YOu always know how to put a smile on my face even when im upset! I have to say im probably up there on your number one fans list!! I personally loved the show about whats real or fake. My hair will NOT grow!! It used to be long and pretty. I'm 21 and it just breaks all the time. Anythiing that grows just breaks off. It's SO thin on the bottom. I just want my long hair back. I want extensions and I can't afford them. I just moved to San Francisco and everywhere is SO expensive. My self esteem has gone down SO much since it started thinning. Hey Tyra! This is my first comment on your page. I'm a weave fanatic, and I watched the clip of how to tell human hair from synthetic. But the advice needs some adding on to. Those tips work with straight hair, with curls and waves, the synthetic hair is freakishly bouncy and super shiny. It doesn't look natural at all. It has sort of a "slinky" effect. Also synthetic hair melts if you hold a strand to a flame, human hair will burn up before you can even get you fingers out of the way!

It's bad enough your mentor(Oprah) told white america, that black women don't grow hair, and of course they took that and ran with it. White and mexican women wear weaves just like us black women do, but the only difference is their hair blends better because their hair is naturally straight.

I am a white woman who caught the show, and I was definitely sadden. I thought you had a little more finese or should I say professional. I have friends who watched the show, and felt the same way. No way will we watch you show, until we see an apology to that young lady. You have definitely out done yourself. With all the things I thought you could have done, this was the worst of the worst. That young lady was absolutely gorgeous, and she is a role model to many young ladies. My question is why would you do this? My hope is that you get better topics on the show, you're in NYC. Based on the views and morals of some, it is scary to know that they are an accurate representation of our future. i'm actually writing to you all the way from africa. i am a 32 year old female and i was a BIG sceptic when you started your show. I was on the band wagon of "what's she going to talk about?". But i must say you have won me over and you are in my top three of inspirational people i truly admire for the gutso and desire for greatness. Well done i'm truly proud of you cause you are really representing in ways you can not even begin to imagine. I now watch your show faithfully and ANTM. We are episodes or seasons behind but it doesn't matter.

hi tyra just wanted to say that i love your show and i try to watch it as much as possible aka (when im not @ work)lol and actually im @ work now typing this message lmao...see you bout to get me fired lol, but anyway i actually wanted to come on here and defend you on some comments that were made about this specific show about weave.... lol i loved it!!!! i thought it was so funny because thats exactlly wat my weave used to do when i had no clue what the heck i was doing with my hair back in the day... for those rude comments that were posted about the show plz stop it. it's not even nessary to down tyra for something so small as a hair weave. come on!!! people. if tyra was really trying to make that girl look bad do you really think she would have put her self in front of the fan to let her hair weave blow all out of place to? not 1 time did you see tyra put a gun to that girls head and say " get in front of the fan or its about to be on!" you never heard that come out of her mouth..that girl could have easly declined and walked away. wat tyra did was try to show you the difference in hair weaves, but sence you decided that you wanted to make this a show about racism (witch clearly thats what this show was not about)you only saw color. lmao i have no idea how yal went from hair weaves to racial issues lol. tyra keep doing ya thang big baby!! next time do a show about hair roots! cause man some people need help keeping them the same color as they ends. lol see ya

i cant ask my family for help because I am still supporting them.I send money every month. Sad to say my family in the Philippines are poor. My dad makes $2 a day.
but i did ask my in laws.My mom in law is going to help pay for my daughter;s passport fee. My grandma in law is going to pay for my I-131 travel document. While me and my husband will cover the plane ticket. But we will be a little short. I dont ask for help to strangers unless im desperate. Im doin everything i can. But when ur husband is a student and making $8 an hour and working 60 hour a week. And u are saving for 2 plane ticket in the end u still come up short. Im sorry if i offended anybody.

Tyra your treatment to that young, black sister was appalling.I hope you do the right thing and apologize to her on your show. I understand that your show is mainly for young girls seeking knowledge on what often is obvious common sense to an older adult. I watch occasionally and I happened across the segment of "real or Fake". I saw how the young Black woman with the "fake" hair was treated..humiliated and taunted in front of a mainly white! audience!..I would sue your show if that were me. That young woman should be given a public apology and given another chance on your show .I was angered as to how you did not do the same to the white girl wearing weave/extensions. It is obvious when someone is demonstrating superiority and bullying behavior. Tyra, you are too old to be acting like some hyper-active high school girl...I saw no benefit in your show and the viewers would fare well to choose a book or a magazine over your show...I will never watch again!

Its funny how I stared at the computer for a good 5 minutes because, for some weird reason, i got nervous to type to you....lol.

Anyways the reason why I'm typing to you is because you had an episode where u re-did a kindergarden room and u said if theres anything anyone thinks they need resyled by tyra....whether it be an office, a house...ect.........Well I'm 17 years old, soon to be 18 and Im a senior at Fiorella Laguardia High School of the Preforming Arts. I'm a Drama major and I have a little problem. You see my graduating class has been waiting 4 years to finailly be seniors and decorate the girls dressing room but we finally got the locker rooms and find our selfs too busy with college essays, college interveiws, after school preformences and so on to decorate them. We've watched 3 years worth of girls put posters and lights and paint the walls but now its nothing =(.As drama majors this is where we go after school to put our custooms away to relax and so on. I love all the girls in my year. We spend so much time at school, probably more than any other school because we are a young conservatory. We stay after school for rehersals, for talent shows or to help out. Tyra I made a big poster that said CLASS OF 2008 but..........it still looks YUCKY lol........Tyra Please help me out. I'd like to give this as a gift to my graduating class and also leave the room looking feirce for the years after us.
