Bradley Bayou's 10 Dress-Sexy Commandments

Bradley Bayou is an award winning fashion designer who has gained widespread recognition for his ingenious combination of talent and timing. He is best known for his couture designs that have been worn by many celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Eva Longoria, Halle Berry, and many more! Bradley shares these great fashion commandments from his new book “The Science of Sexy.”

1. Thou shalt choose the right undergarments. The most common problem? Creating new bulges next to the ones you’re covering up.

2. Thou shalt choose the highest quality fabrics thou can afford. Buying cheap is like buying disposable clothing.

3. Thou shalt not force your figure into every style. Certain styles will never look good on you. Period.

4. Thou shalt use your skin to your advantage. A peek of flesh can instantly draw the eye straight to the spot you’re showing off-and away from a flaw you’re trying to conceal.

5. Thou shalt not buy big-tricket trendy items. If you look at somrthing and have to ask yourself, “Do I really think this will look good in two years?” it probably won’t.

6. Thou shalt select skinny fabrics and cuts. Fabrics that gently flow and drape over your body create more of a vertical line, making you seem slimmer.

7. Thou shalt ignore clothing tags-the fit is the thing. Generally speaking, if there are wrinkles in the fabric when you try it on, the garment is either too small or too big.

8. Thou shalt hall accessories. They divert from your flaws and are more affordable than clothes.

9. Prints and accessories must be in scale with the body. Little things on big people look ridiculous, and big things on little people look ridiculous.

10. Thou shalt wear the V-neck shape-it looks good on every woman. No matter waht shape or size you are, the V-neck will create the illusion of a slimmer waist.

Hey Tyra,
I've been watching your show for the last few months religiously, and I had to tell you what a roll model you are to me. When I heard you were 161 pounds, and you look amazing, it really gave me a little boost in myself. I'm 14 and 165 pounds, 5'10". I am only now realizing that maybe I'm not as overly large as I seem to give myself credit for. I find I'm slowly having less crying fits over my size, and am starting to wear whatever I want, and stop obbsessing over small details.
You seem to be one of the few Hollywood type person that is setting an excellent example towards me, and everyone else.
Please keep being as inspiring and helpful as you are.

Hello; I think Tyra should do a show in which showcases local fashion designers. I am one and I have design quite well. I work hard (Police Officer) and I would like the opportunity to show the world on Tyra's show that we have top shelf local design talent and what better place than on the Tyra Banks show. Thanks.

Hi Tyra,
I watched ur show that had Bradley Bayou on it & i have to tell you how happy it makes me that you are speaking out about the "fat" issue...I, myself am a plus size woman & i am now in the process of trying to locate Bradley's book so i can purchase it if i have the available funds...I am looking forward to more shows like that....All the bes--Beth

Heyy Tyra!!!

Tyra please have some t-shirts or mugs that we can buy from you online! Ellen DeGeneres has that sort of things and tonss of fans have the stuff!!

I would love to wear I Tyra shirt or something. To show I am a dedicated fan and that you are such a role model and insperation.Or maybe "So What" T-shirts?

Yesterday I was board and took a plain white tank top and cut out letters from a colourful fabric and it said"
I ( with a heart)
Tyra

Then on the back is said
Banks! I might add the Tyra Show symbol on there or something.Of course I love the Tyra Show.I try to watch it when I can.

Dear Terrence,
I saw you on Tyra and others asked you about your eye color change. I have been diagnosised with MS and the first symtom I had was the changing of my eye color from dark brown to hasel. I have since joined several MS web sites and the change in eye color occurs in many people diagnosised with MS. I would check into it and not dismiss the change. Mark Frye

I saw Terence Howard on the show and want to know how I can get that song he sang to Tyra. I love it and my son is getting married soon and would like to have a special song. That was beautiful. Please let me know if I can get it. Thanks. Have a great day!

i luv this tyra. i'm 15 going on 16 in january. i'm about 2 go out nd shop at the mall i'm going to look baq at this while shopping so i can go baq 2 school looking good

hey tyra,
i was watching you show yesterday. it was inspiring but really i am thirteen and not a little stick. it is impossibvle to find cloths that fit and look good ii have no hips and my legs are not big but i cary the weight in my waist do you have and tips ot help my problem before school starts ?:(

Hey,
I am 17 years old. I don't think my body is really bad...or anything like that...but I know there's things I can do to improve it...like...I have stretch marks...my mom thinks from me growing really fast...but I don't know how to get rid of them! Therefore, whenever I wear a bathing suit, I always wear shorts, and I don't wear two pieces, cuz I know I'm a little chubby...and to top that all off, I have a bit of a back problem...my upper back arches out more than normal, and my lower back arches in more than normal...making my stomach stick out even more. So, yes, there are things I can say "so what!!" to...but I also know there's things that I can improve...know of anything cheap to get ride of stretch marks and stuff? I am only 17 after all...and not alot of money...

Thanks!!

Thank you so much for this show! Even at 28, I struggle with my self-image. Family, friends, and co-workers find that so hard to imagine because to them I appear so confident. It is often depressing watching videos or reading magazines because the industry's "beautiful ones" don't look anything like me. However, I look to confident females like yourself, Beyonce, Queen Latifah, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott, etc. who epitome what real women look like, flaws 'n' all!!! Thank you!

DEAR TYRA, HEY GIRL HOW ARE YOU I JUST WANTED TO TELL YOU THT UR SHOWS INSPIRE ME MORE N MORE. YOU ARE MY AMERICAN IDOL N I MEAN THT. THE SHOW WAS GOOD TODAY I ENJOYED IT AND THE LADIES LOOKED FLAWLESS.ANYWAY I HAVETO GO BUT I JUST HAD TO GIVE SOME FEED BACK. LOVE YA {KELLI B.K.A GODSCHIILD}

P.S. YOU LOOK VERY GOOD TO BE 161 POUNDS

I'm at work everyday when your show is on so i DVR it and watch it when i get home, i love your show. It has really boosted my self esteem... but i still have issues with the way my body is built, like the woman on your show today, i too feel as tho my body is a curse. Mainly, my belly ( my dad asked me last year if i was pregnant!!!!!) and my thighs, i cant wear shorts b/c my legs rub together too bad. If i find pants that fit my waist, they are too big in the legs, but if i find pants that fit my leg, they are too tight on my waist. I've struggled with this for several years, and i just need a little help finding the right things to wear. I've told my husband to nominate me for "What Not To Wear" jus so i can have someone tell me what to wear to flatter my body... Thanks... For everything that you do for women!
