Bradley Bayou's 10 Dress-Sexy Commandments
Bradley Bayou is an award winning fashion designer who has gained widespread recognition for his ingenious combination of talent and timing. He is best known for his couture designs that have been worn by many celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Eva Longoria, Halle Berry, and many more! Bradley shares these great fashion commandments from his new book “The Science of Sexy.”
1. Thou shalt choose the right undergarments. The most common problem? Creating new bulges next to the ones you’re covering up.
2. Thou shalt choose the highest quality fabrics thou can afford. Buying cheap is like buying disposable clothing.
3. Thou shalt not force your figure into every style. Certain styles will never look good on you. Period.
4. Thou shalt use your skin to your advantage. A peek of flesh can instantly draw the eye straight to the spot you’re showing off-and away from a flaw you’re trying to conceal.
5. Thou shalt not buy big-tricket trendy items. If you look at somrthing and have to ask yourself, “Do I really think this will look good in two years?” it probably won’t.
6. Thou shalt select skinny fabrics and cuts. Fabrics that gently flow and drape over your body create more of a vertical line, making you seem slimmer.
7. Thou shalt ignore clothing tags-the fit is the thing. Generally speaking, if there are wrinkles in the fabric when you try it on, the garment is either too small or too big.
8. Thou shalt hall accessories. They divert from your flaws and are more affordable than clothes.
9. Prints and accessories must be in scale with the body. Little things on big people look ridiculous, and big things on little people look ridiculous.
10. Thou shalt wear the V-neck shape-it looks good on every woman. No matter waht shape or size you are, the V-neck will create the illusion of a slimmer waist.

I recently lost 40lbs and I know I have an inverted triangle shape from watching your show. I'm so confused on what clothes I look good in because my waist is a size 2-4 but I still have to wear a large in button down shirts because I have wide shoulders and long arms. I need help! I love fashion and love to look good. I just don't know how anymore

Its funny that plus size women in America feel bad about their weight. Am from Kenya and I think they should all come here for a holiday. Am 26 and weigh 45 KGs. I have been on a diet to get fat since I was 17 but its just not happening. Its true beauty is from inside coz in my country no one gives me a second look but My fat friends ... they are have a ball.

Hi Tyra. My name is Duriel and I'm from Chicago. I watched your show that featured Bradley Bayou and one of your guests had my undivided attention. I am a fan of plus size queens and Chrisette fits that profile. I think Bradley did a wonderful job on her. Personally, I didn't she needed help, but she looked very happy. Is Chrisette single?

Hey Tyra I think it is good that you are so serious about steping up and speaking out about the image that the fashion and intertainment industry is potraying for young women. Making it seem that you have to be a size zero to be beautiful, and sexy when that is not even the case, and I don't know how you feel about the modeling industry anymore but I think that it is time for them to open up a new market for models and that is the average size model. Now I know that sounds weird but I am a young woman striving to be a model I have tried out for ANTM twice and I havn't even been able to make it to the point of making the tape for you to watch and it is so dicouraging and it makes me think that I will never be a model. Not because I havn't made it so far but because I am not the average size plus model or the average size top model and I refuse to get down to a size 2 just so I can make my dream come true. I am not braging or anything but I am very pretty and photogenic I know how to walk and pose and I think, no I know I would make a damn good model. I guess the reason I am sending this is because I don't understand what your casting directors look for at the open calls. Basically I'm scared because in the back of my mind sometimes I feel like my dream of being a model will never come true because I feel like agencies or casting directors won't pick me because of my size. Soley because of my size like they won't even give me a chance and that's why I don't go out to agencies in chicago where I live becase modeling is what I want to do I don't want to settle for being an actress even though I can act but modeling is my passion and I just can't see myself living my life not being a model so please if you can give me some words of incouragement or tell me what to do so I can make this happen because it HAS to happen. Thank you.

hi tyra, i say this with the most this is due tespect, but i am worried about your so whta campain. while i think the modling world is wrong, i also think the so what lifestyle if i understand it correctly can be dangerous. this is due to the fact that you havent stated the health risk such as high blodd presser, and other risk that can come from this. yes i dont like being 116 and 5'7 is very healthy but neither is being 205 ld because of the simple fact of the stress that it will place on ones heart and clots in ones blood stream. the reason i am speaking out is because i lost a good family friend who had the so what mind set and i dont want others to go through that pain. please i beg you to have a show on eating right and a healthy diet to tie into the so what mind set. and in close every woman is beautiful but not every woman is healthy.

Tyra, I'm 25 years old and at the heaviest I've ever been. I'm 6 ft and I'm not built to be skinny. I wore a size 10 when I was about 16 and I look at that now and I think I was waaaaaaaaaay too small. I'm a size 18-20 now and I have to say, I've hated my body for a long time. No matter how many times my husband tells me that he loves my body, I can't see it.
I live in a city where being skinny is "in" (I live in Las Vegas). Shopping is like cruel and unusual punishment for be because nothing fits. Things are either too short or just too small. I found two stores that only sell "plus-sized" clothes, Torrid and Ashley Stewart. Both of these stores are gradually changing my view on shopping.
I set a reminder for your show tonight because you've been an inspiration to me since you first graced the cover of SI. I want to tell you that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOU!!! As a black woman, a plus-sized black woman, I look at you, a SUPER MODEL with curves and I realize that I don't have to wear a size 2 to be sexy. Keep doing what you do and I'll keep looking to you for inspiration!!

Hi Tyra
I love your show because it addresses the issues that we as women are dealing with everyday. Your show on dressing sexy at any size is really encouraging because even though I am a larger woman, I still want to feel, dress and look sexy. I'm looking forward to reading Bradley's book and getting more tips. Can you tell me where to find the black tops and bottoms that the women who were on the show were wearing when they first came out or at least who they are made by? I've notice people wearing them on other shows you've had on, but I can't find them in larger sizes. Thank you Tyra for the love and positive message and outlook that you always so willingly share with us.

I like to see what you are doing for the fashion industry. From a guys point of view I must say there are "Different strokes for different Folks. I think all women should KNOW that different guys like different size.
Better yet let me say that some may like a varying size, but may be more interested in other things that may be as if not more important than body size or type.
Also a shout out to www.undertease.com for the way the sizes are changed to eliminate sizes that say "Large" and "Small" and use names that sound better even for the men who might not want to ask for the other half.

hey Tyra, i love your show! i saw the episode about weight and how model skinny isn't pretty, and that it isn't healthy. and i agree with that, i also agree that you don't have to be skinny to be beautiful. But skinny can be beautiful too, i have heard alot lately how ugly skinny is and how it looks wrong on many shows and i was surprised to hear about it on your show.
I am naturely thin because of my metabolism and can't help my weight, and i understand that all people are beautiful no matter what the shape, but i always hear from people that i need to eat more and i am too thin. i eat more than alot of people i know and if i ate more, i would puke! I strongly dislike the fact that people are saying how ugly thin is and making people like me feel bad about their weight! i don't judge people that are over weight but they always judge me, i am a healthy petite and i am looked at as someone who needs to eat more and it hurts and needs to stop. please help people like me to be accepted as healthy weights.
-thank you
