Dear Tyra,

My name is Michelle. I am a teacher in Orlando, FL. Recently, I got engaged. Although it is supposed to be a happy occasion, at this moment it is a bittersweet feeling. You see, when Florentino asked for my hand in marriage to my father, my father gave us the blessing. He also said he would not pay for the wedding. What is worse is when I asked if he could at least pay for my gown, he said no. Everytime I think or even talk about it, I cry. I would love for Florentino and I to have the wedding of a lifetime. I have always dreamed of a Disney Wedding. I do not dream of a huge wedding, but something fairytale like that we can both remember and talk about for the rest of the rest of our lives. I dream big. My faith in God has allowed me to believe that where there is a will, in God's name, there will always be a way. I figured I would write my mini story to you. I always tell my students, "Anything is possible if you try, work hard, and never stop believing!" Thank you for your time.

Hey Tyra!! My name is Kristen and I am 19 and just left college to put my father through drug rehab. My family has been dealing with this problem for almost 4 years. Putting someone through rehab is harder than most people think. Every rehab place we call sounds great until right before we get off the phone they say, "That will be 7,000.00 for 14 days." I say to myself if our last name isnt Lohan or Spears we might as well give up. My mother is on disability from Lupus and my sister is working 7 days a week at 2 jobs, a full time student and has a 2 year old baby who I take care of. So, the something that my family has wanted to do for 4 years is to get my dad better. Believe it or not he is a great husband, father, and grandfather who has a disease that is taking over his life. He himself says that he wants to get better. Please help my family and father and tell us how to get help.

Unfortunately, i was one year too old when they first started the show, and although i believe they've raised the minimum age... i'm still too old for the show. My mum was a singer and says that i have what it takes to blow most of the canadian idol candidates away. I just wish i could have had the chance.

Dear Tyra,
My name is Morgan Koelmel and I have a mother that loves her kids a lot. Through out her life she has been homeless, on drugs, and struggled with bills since she has been 18. Peggy, my mom, always puts everyone first. She hasn't bought anything new for herself in years. She still struggles pay check to pay check, but never complains. My mother is now clean and has a job that she has been at for 11 years. She works 5 days a week from 4am to 7pm and I feel I never get to see her. I wish just for once she could take off from her job and relax. Every year now she says she wants a vacation but she could never afford it. I wished just for once she could take off for a least a day for relaxtion. If you could help and make this come true. You would touch her soul deep and she would never forget it.

Hello my name is Kanisha Renee', and i'm in need of your help, support,love and sound advice. I watch your show all the time and i feel you are a woman of grace, dignity, style and charisma. All my life I've been into music and Acting, not professionally, but in my church, and myspare time. Im 23 yrs old soon to be 24 on 6-15-08 and i have yet to accomplish my set goals and dreams. I have so many accomplished successful people around me who have good careers and good hearts and they give me hope. But sometimes i feel as if im never going to get there. Im an ambitious person, my expectations for myself are high and it's a disappointment to myself, im my worst critic. Why, because i've been in College for 5 yrs, "well i took one year and half off after my grandmother pasted to recollect my thoughts." I know what i want to do in life but i think Im going down the wrong path. Im currently attending East West University studying, General Business, International Business, and Marketing. I've had to settle for this career to become a Business Consultant. Not saying it's not a great profession it's someting that im interseted in, but not passion.
My true hearts desire is to sing and lord wills it act professionally, I also play the drums for my church, i never took a lesson i play by ear, But because of who I've been brought up to be, I'm not allowed to follow that dream. When your young, your parents tell you, you can be anything you want if you work hard for it andput your mind to it, in some cases yes, but in mine It's just not true and it's not fair. Im a loving person, a people person, i look out more for others than i do myself. Im a christan non-denominatinal, and because of this, the church doesn't approve of the life style of the rich and famous. There are different faces to the entertainment world, a lot of which is good, but also not so good. And i think they believe how can you protest to be one thing and yet do another. And i understand that completely, but at the sametime, is it my fault God gave me these gifts to want to express myself to the world? I've been told that my voice up lifts people and why is it bad that i want to make a career out of something I love to do. I really took on that major to satisfy my mom and my need for excellence, to succeed and wealth. I dont want to be one of these people out here, wishing and wanting but never acheiving. I love to travel and see the world and help as many people that i can.
My idol( well my favorite entertainer next to YOU :) ) is, Beyonce, even though she is only a few years my elder, i love her manorism, her style, her respect for herself and others and her drive. You know tyra if i only had the chance to talk to her on a serious level. I would explain my situation in detail and ask her to mentor me and give me the chance to prove myself that i belong were I really want to be. I heard she was really nice and really down to earth, and i really wish she would take me under her sing and mentor me. I would love to be able to work with her and for the chance to say I did it!
Tyra, it's not fair that i cant live my dream life/career and do what i want to do /what i was born to do sing and not offend anyone. I see the celebs and how they give back, but i really see how they give back to their parents just to say thank you for everything. And i sit there and think i should be able to do that. My mom has been there for me and even though she has sickle-cell, she remained my rock in EVERYTHING. SHe's strong in all aspects including her faith, and im proud to say she's my mother. (I love my dad too) I just want her to be able to see me on television in my own movie or singing and have her say, well done my daughter, Im proud of you.

Tyra trust me i know you get millions if not billions of letters, calls, & emails daily, but i know a humanitarian when i see one and i pray and hope you give me the chance to overcome this trial and acheive my dreams.
