i have been wanting to be a model for soo long i seams. when i was little i loved taking pictures and being in them but, i was always overweight now i am 15 years old and every one says i am very pretty and could be a model but i need to loose weight i have tryed almost every thing even things that had not ententialy made me sick and in the hospital i am a dancer as well since i was 2 years old and im trying out for dirll team it seams that my weight is holding me back at everything is there any advice you can give me i have noticed since in grade school that i have wanted to loose weight and nothing has worked thanks soo much

what size constitutes a PLUS SIZE? 10? 11? 12? of course, it varies depending on brand and what article of clothing you're talking about. so, for the sake of argument, in pants. i'm wearing a pair of elevens. in eleven. am i plus size?

how are you im doing fine.im 17 years old,and yes i am plus size.ive been this way all my life.i believe a size 14 or a size 10 is not considered plus.i think you should have a teen plus size modeling event on your show.the reason i say that is becuase im attending school now and i look at my beautiful big black sisters who go to school with me there self esteem is down,becuase they are afraid.i try to encourage people but it just wont work. i think it would help many over wieght kids thats in school now.im not saying this is encouriging kids to EAT more, but its just something to give them hope.i have high self esteem,and if it do cross your mind to have a fashion show for teens i will be honored to be in the event.

I am one of those girls who always have had extra weight on them. But, even through my days of darkness or my moments I dwell on my insecurities, I have always found ways to smile. Since I was little I always felt beautiful not only on the inside but the out. To be honest, the world is what has taken alot of my confidence on the outside away. No matter my size I always have felt like my confidence makes me more beautiful. But when people question your confidence and dont understand your reason for being self-assured you tend to question yourself too. I feel like I have the potential to be great because I am not only beautiful on the out but the inside, which I feel matters so much more. My teeth is the one thing I feel that holds me back from reaching what I know I can. You have inspired me to strive in the directions I thought were impossible. And my mother is the one who has given me strength to never give up. I thank both you and her for providing me with guidance in the right direction and to know you truly can reach your dreams. Id love a chance.

I think that a plus size model in not a size 10-16. A plus size model is from sizes 16 and up. A plus model don't stop at a specific size. I think that you should do a segment on your show to show off plus size teen model. I think you should discriminate on height or size. Everyone plus size and height should be accepted. If you have this segment on your show I would like to be one of your plus size teen models.

Hey Tyra, I'm currently watching Top Model Season 10. && I wanted to look up plus size models. I'm considered "plus sized" and I'm also tall. I know who I am, I know and love how I look. I'm about 5'10. I'm just sitting here wondering how I go about plus size teen modeling. I don't even know if there is such a thing for teens. I just randomly found this site, and I felt that I should just say that maybe you could tell teens what to do or how to go about things like this. Idk.

I've been reading comments on this site for months now, and I'm finding that so many girls have the same interests and desires that I have, but like many of the other girls who have already left you comments... I'm too short to fit the stereo-typical model requirements. I'm only 5'4", weigh 145 lbs., and wear a size 8/10... I've been told over and over again since I was about 14, that I should model, but when I thought about the average body type for a model, I always got discouraged. I knew that I could never fit that mold, so I decided to forget about it all... until recently. It's very inspiring to read 7 comments, on just one page, from girls that have similar body types to mine... It makes you wonder how many girls are feeling like they aren't good enough because they don't fit "model requirements". People tell us that all body types are beautiful, but words without action are just noise... My point in this comment is just that the average body of an American girl is not 5'11" 125 lbs... and we shorties want a chance to prove that we can be successful models!!! haha... anyway, thank you for taking the time to read this, and I really hope that you can give us a chance to break those "requirements".

You know what I use to watch your show everyday until my job changed my schedule!!! lol..anyways I think you should have a show and its particularly about me, but you should have a show about women dating their a guy for so long but doesn't want to ask you out...Tyra I have been with my friend for about 2 years now and we do everything today, we tell each other that "I love you" and we call each other everyday, we don't mess or talk with anybody else..So you see what I mean I feel were in a relationship but he just hasn't asked but he's telling me he's going to be ready soon. Well how soon can it be, to me were boyfriend and girlfriend he's just afraid to actually ask me. I have a beautiful 15 year old daughter that has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, ADHD along with others and over the years and course of medications, she has gained alot of weight for her 4'9" frame. She is exremely photogenic and has the most beautiful face with sparkling blue eyes, a georgeous smile and dimples for days. She is one of those people that no matter what haircolor or style, she is unique and georgeous. She has the ability to photograph with many "looks" and "faces". As a baby in beauty padgents, she always won "most photogenic". She has always wanted to model, but now her self esteem is at its lowest and feels that she will never be able to do it because of her size, or anything for that matter. She is feeling pretty worthless and it is creating some destructive behaviors. Her mental health has not only affected her, it has taken a toll on our family. She needs alot of mentoring and positive influenses in her life. I know that if she could just get the chance at a dream, it would incourage and strengthen her mentally, emotionally and physically. I am willing to do anything to help her build her self esteem and show her that she is the beautiful, priceless, irreplacable person that I know she is both inside and out. Thank you for giving her hope!!

I am 14 years old and a goal of mine is actually to become a plus sized model. I wear around a size 9 or 11 in pants. My only concern is that I am not tall enough. (I am about 5'5''.) is there any hope for me?
I also think that you should make a show dedicated to teen wanna be plus sized models.

Dear Tyra, I love that people are now recognizing the plus size world and i just have something i would like to say that i do not believe you are plus size until size 14/16 i mean i am almost 6'0 and i weigh in the 330s lbs people have told me to be a plus size model and i have really thought about it and would love to but the fact is i am not thin enough. I am not out of shape , i did shot put and discus in my senior year of highschool in 08 i mean i very toned for my size i wear from 24 to 30 so i mean its very hard for this college girl to find cute clothes that fit well but most places only go up to size 24 and i have big thighs and a big butt i just wish there were more believable plus size models that are my size in the same clothes that i want to buy please help Tyra i just want to be accepted the size i am as a model, as a person, as anything

Hi, Tyra my name is Theresa i just went to a modeling interview yesterday for young girls for Barbizon and they have girls of all shapes and sizes i have been a big girl all my life im 15 234 pounds and i will be 16 in 2 weeks i love your show but i am short 5'3 so i couldnt do that much in modeling but im trying to i try not to let kids bring me down im trying to loose the weight but it just dont seem to be working i try to stay active but i have bad astmah and allergies i think what you are doing for plusize-girls is amazing who ever said you had to be a size 2 to be beautiful i am a size (16/17 in pants) (xxl in shirts) i do have a large chest fro my age but i dont let my size get me down so tyra thank you for all you doing for all the beautiful plus-size girls of the worls
