I dint get to watch the show but from the comments, it must have been good. My only problem is,is it possible for the world to just turn one day and notice the thin girls who want to feel good about themselves. I come from a continent where booty is worshiped. At 25 yrs old, I am 5'9 and only weigh 45 Kgs. I eat more than most of my friends and because of the sorry looks and comments from older mother like women I eat even more in public. It has taken me so long to discover that i cant gain weight. Now i just want to be comfortable with what i have. am sure am not alone. could you please give some tips on 'minus' size girls.

Hi, Tyra. I grew up hearing how pretty I am and how beautiful I am but I never felt that way. But at the same time I've always wanted to model. I never tried to pursue modeling though because of my body. I'm 5'5 and obviously way too short to do runway. But I never wanted to do runway modeling. I always wanted to do print. Also I'm not "slim and trim." I'm more of the average girl next door that wears about a size 7 and has some booty and hips to go with it. First off, I want to thank you for putting it out there that beauty comes in all different shapes and shades. Second I want to put it out there that being overweight or even obese (yeah, I said it) doesn’t necessarily mean you’re not healthy. There is more to health than weight, to those of you who love to quote the BMI as some golden standard of health. There are a lot of different things to factor in before someone is considered healthy, like blood pressure and cholesterol levels just to name a few. And just because some of these people are not in their ideal BMI or have a perfect waist/hip ratio doesn’t mean they’re not healthy. You CAN’T assume what is happening to someone on the inside of their body by just looking at them. That’s why they do medical test and screenings. So, why don’t we leave the diagnosing to the doctors? Makes sense so keep doing what you’re doing Tyra cause the media, unfortunately, is still promoting anorexia like its going out style. And for those of you who need proof, try reading Paul Campos’s The Diet Myth. It’s an eye opener.

Yeah! Right on for thinking of us bigger girls. I have struggled all my life with my weight because if you werent thin, you werent good enough for anything. I remember trying out for the cheerleading squad and being told that the other girls would never be able lift me... I was 15, 152Lbs, 5'8"...(I could of been at the bottom of the pyramid, but whatever).

I just want to know if there will be another Thick and Sexy Model search. I always miss these things. I was hoping for a plus size winner this year on the other top model though.

I have my doubts that anyone important will read this, but I felt compelled to comment after watching the "Thick and Sexy" Model contest a few weeks ago. I was very disappointed with this show and feel the entire exercise was terribly irresponsible. I love and appreciate the fact that you celebrate women of many shapes and sizes and advocate against super skinny models, but loosley throwing around the word healthy (mentioned at least 2-3 times during the show) and saying it's ok to be as large as some of these women was not setting a good example. There are always comments about how unhealthy it can be to be too skinny but it's ok to be 200-250lbs!!?? I am acutely aware that just because you are a more acceptable weight does not mean you are healthy, but you will NOT convince me it is healthy to be that size. Anyone with the waste/hip ratio of some of those women is a heartattack waiting to happen. I don't think I have to list the health risks associated with weight of that magnitude. I think you and your show took it too far by saying it's acceptable to be that size. Many young girls look up to you...chidhood obesity is an epidemic - and then you have seriously overweight girls saying "But Tyra said it's ok! I'm beautiful!" While they are potentially riddled with high blood pressure, diabetes and cardiac risks. Celebrate many shapes and sizes, but be responsible! Advocate good health!! By the way - I am neither skinny or fat - I am a healthy weight (5'1" 110lbs) and very physically fit, and no - I don't think everyone should be a size 2 - just healthy!

I didnt know you were doing a search for thick and sexy models. My name is Larissa and I think I fit that category. I'm 5'10, and have wanted to be a model since I very young. I have been struggling with my weight since high school, and I think I know now that I cannot be a 'regular' skinny model.

I just wanted to say that I have seen your E true hollywood story and have watched higher learning and all of the top models, and I catch your show when I get out of school early (I am the first in my family to stay in college.) I admire you and I think you are a wonderful person who was brought up very well. I hope all is well with you and I hope we can speak in the future.

Also, I think you should have a show on miscarriages, or sex crazed teens, or bisexual individuals and the gay communty's views on them, or families being evicted several times, or families with a parent on drugs. I have been through all of this, and I can honestly say it would help me to know someone has been through some of that just like me.

dear tyra i would like to be in your modeling sho im telling you even though i am 14years old i could make at least about 25 million people come on your show for modeling but let me tell you tyra girl at my school it was 25 girls\ models at my school but out of all 25 girls\ models i was number one.

I wanted to say that I love what you are accomplishing with your show! I love the fact that you encourage women to support each other and care about "OUR" emotions, spirits, and wellbeing!!! I am a bigger woman and have been listening to the comments of thick or husky, but that I carry it so well that you can't tell, unless I turn sideways! I use to be called the human garbage disposal by my father, to which my body frame is just like his, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt or keep me inside at times or inside in my soul. but at the same time I also don't listen to everything people say because I don't care what they think, but as we all know we have those days that it does get in and it does get to us and as i've been seeing your shows, when i can, I feel empowered and am beginning to take a better interest in myself and the things I love to do.thank you and keep on spreading the food for our souls, as women and humans. I would like to see a show that has fashion tips for larger frame women and larger shoe sizes on a BUDGET. I'm told that I dress very well for my size, but I have to shop at least twelve different stores to complete one outfit, because the top name plus stores are sometimes rather pricey, especially the ones that carry large sizes that's trendy and more geared towards a younger clientel.
What are some websites that will cater to what I'm looking for? Jazzy on a budget.

I was quite disappointed when I looked at your application for The Next Top Model and it states you have to be at least 5'7". If you say you believe that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes then by putting something like that on a application to be on your show is very hypocritical. We find it disgusting that people will starve themselves and exercise to the point of passing out to make themselves beautiful, but look at the new trend in Asia where women are having their legs surgically broken to make themselves taller. How is it any different then hurting yourself to make yourself thin? I don't think it is. I am only 5'4" but I am absolutely stunning and the fashion industry would be lucky to have me be a part of it. Maybe in the future applications will not have a limit on beauty because really it is not me that is limited but really the fashion industry for giving it selves such harsh beauty rules to follow. Hopefully soon you will realize Tyra that beauty does truly come in all shapes and sizes!

Tyra I loved your show. I think that people should loosen up about other people weight.Just because you are big doesn't mean you are unhealthy. I know skinny people that have the same health problems that big people have.I don't see anyone making a big deal about that.I think that if you are big, pretty,and phat you should flaunt it.There are a lot of big people in the world that are trying to please skinny people. I am a very big fan of Tyra Banks and I have always admired how much of a positive role model she is But today I went to the casting call for America's Next Top Model Cycle 9 and it was nothing like I expected it made me think of Tyra in a different way because at the casting call they didn't seem like they were looking for models, they didn't have us walk, they didn't look at our pictures, they didn't even read our applications. They were just looking for people who would act a fool on the show. now I don't even want to watch the show anymore because it just seems so fake. not being picked for the show is not what upset me the thing that upset me is that it made me change my mind about Tyra because the casting call was horrible. You may think that I shouldn't change my about tyra just because of the casting call, but it is her show and it is just sort of devastating finding out that someone you look up to is not who you think they are.

I think it's great that Tyra's bringing more diversity into the modeling industry by including plus-sized women... but something Tyra will never experience and hasn't thought of is height. I'm 5'1 and have no chance of ever being a model. People made fun of me constantly for being a "shrimp". It's still something that the modeling industry will just never open up to. I don't get it... there are SO many petite girls out there, where are the models?
