You talked about using vaseline but I can't remember how you use it, is it after you wash your face at night or/and your knees. I have always had minor acne. I am 31 and have noticed in the past few months, it's getting worse. I don't wear makeup, and I wash my face twice daily. I am using ProActive. It worked wonders before, but this time it's not doing much. What do you suggest. Could it be hormone related? I stopped having periods almost one year ago. Someone said it's menopause. But hey, I am only 31!

I have had acne for a few years and here are some things that may help!! Good Luck :)

1.NEVER go to bed with you makeup on.Always clean your skin at night.
2.Invest in a good,gentle cleanser like cetaphil or original formula neutrogena.
3.Don't forget to moisturize.It helps with dryness and wrinkles.
4.Dab HONEY on pimples overnight and they should be gone in the morning.
5.Baking soda mixed with a little water is also a great exfoliator for dead skin.
6.Lemon juice mixed with water is also a great,natural way to brighten the skin.

***I am currently using ProActiv and I will let you guys know if it works or not***

i usually use eye make-up remover and then use my marykay facial cleanser and then i dab a cotton with astrigen and let it air dry then pass an ice cube and then apply a acne treatment cream on my pimples and after 2 min. i apply my face cream at nite (if its in the moring make sure to add some sunscreen !!)

i just wanted to give you a nice tip on removing make up and moisturizing your skin at the same time,,

step one: take a small cotton towel,,,,and dip it in hot/warm water,,,squeeze it.

step two: on the towel put a few droops of sweet almond oil...put it on your face for awhile,,,
and then you will see all the makeup on the towel,,,it will remove everything including mascara,,,,sprinkle your face with cold water,,,and that's it,

i do this all the time,,,my face is so smooth,soft and clear to0o,,,,and the best about it, it's completely natural,,,,I love it

I am 13 years old and I live in scotland. I have bad acne on my back. I also get it on my face and chest but not as much as on my back. I have been to the doctors and got given stuff to put on my face back and chest, morning and night and also got given medicine to take aswell. This is not helping the acne on my back and sometines i get really large spots on my back which can be painfull.

Hey Tyra, I know it's been a while since you did your show showing everyone what your cleansing routine/regime is, but I think you should know that the Mary Kay Three in One Cleanser is amazing! Ok well my comment isn't quite as exciting as my "Hey Tyra", but I think it is a problem a lot of women have.
Once in a while I'll get a little blackhead around my lip. It's not a big deal, but it's just one of those things you would rather not have, so of course you go and pick at it, especially when there is that dull moment in life, and you just dont know what to do with yourself, well hup, there goes the picking.
Finally like all great things, haha it gets irritated and turns into a massive red thing and turns into a whitehead, which of course gets popped and leaves a scar.
Tyra, is there any way to get rid of blackheads without this long and highly dramatic story?

I am 16 years old and I am battling a very bad acne problem. I seem to touch my face alot so it leaves scars and blochy marks. I have used every product I can think of. Then my friend recommended Biore and I have been using Biore warming anti-blackhead cream cleanser and my face has been showing very good results. Different products work for different people.

First of all I'm going to sound crazy when this is read but trust me its what works for me! Whenever i have a pimple i just put Colgate (the plain white regular kind)toothpaste on it let it dry about 10 minutes then wash it off.. the next morning its gone! Hope this works for everyone who trys it like it works for me.

You know i know that this can be bad but since your daughter is african american you can take a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol and every other night before she goes to bed after she has washed her face with like dove or something she can wipe her face with the cotton ball dipped in alcohol but not soaked and in the morning she will notice a little difference but she should not do it everyday but maybe one before bed every other day or evey two days and it drys up the acne and excess oil. With black heads i like to push then out but thats bad. Eventually they will go away or you can try a pore sucker made by nutragina but im not sure how good that is. Oh but the rubbing alcohol works.

Well when i was younger my skin was perfect but then i began to get mild acne in my 20's and I am so bad at messing with it that I ended up getting scares and stuff on my face and for me the way i got rid of it was by washing my face with dove or clean and clear deep action cream clenser. If you use the clean and clear leave it on for a little becaue it is minty like and cleans out your pores and when your done pat your face dry and for the scaring I found the best product ever made it is called Nadinola skin discoloration fade cream and it is like 7.00 and you can look it up online or buy it from walgreens and it evens out skin tone and I love it my skin looks perfect again.

Oh God you guys do so much to your skin...I threw out all my products when I realised that toner strips my skin of oil, including natural, and necessary, oil, causing my skin to produce twice as much to make up for the loss. Moisturiser just got under the top layers of skin and acted like water in a sponge by making my pores appear bigger. And cleansers wear just irritating my skin into breaking out more. That or else the breakout would go away, but come back as soon as I stopped using the particular cleanser.

I stopped all that, and am better off for it. I use an all-natural cleanser once a day(one with honey, it smells so yummy!). I still break out during my premenstrual cycle, but because that is a hormonal thing, the only way to end that is prescription medication like accutane.

I am an Aesthetician, and I really appreciate you showing American how to take care of their face. I can not tell you how many women that I get in my facial room that use bar soap on their face.

But I would like to point out my recomendation:

Every AM and PM

1. Cleanse your face with an appropriate cleanser.
2. Spray a Toner (not an Astringent!!!!)
3. Apply a small amount of Eye Cream just around the bone
4. Apply Moisturizer

Use a Masque to treat your skin type 1 time a week.

Also, I believe a facial every 6 to 8 weeks is needed to keep your skin looking it's best. We can advise you on the absolutely best products for your skin type.

I get dry skin a lot, especially on my face,especially around wintertime. For anyone out there who has a dry skin problem like me, I stick with Cera Ve face wash. It's just a normal hydrating face wash that puts moisture back into your skin. It definetly works and I use it right after Clean & Clear for Sensitive skin. Cera Ve can be found at drugstores like Osco. They also have a Lotion to follow up with the face wash. I haven't tried that one yet, but I'm sure it's worth the money.

I was really pleased to see you give some insight on what you use on your skin.I went straight out and bought the aveeno mousturizing bar. Then ordered the aveeda hydrating lotion off line.I went looking for the shu uemura cleansing oil online. I found out your price quote of $27.50 is incorrect it is $32.00 for 150ml and that's not inculding shipping. It's 72.00 for 450ml. I don't usually splurge on myself like this being a mother of three w/ one on the way. I am shopping ebay trying to find a deal. Tyra your show is wonderful! Just a little FYI, I contacted shuuemura's customer service, and it was confirmed that the Cleansing Beauty Oil A/O is $32.00 for 150 ml. Also this product can be used as a cleanser. Instructions are, first, making sure your hands are completely dry you first massage 5-6 pumps of the oil on to your dry face, and then wet your hands and continue to massage until the oil emulsifies. You then rinse this product off w/warm water & pat your face dry with a towel. Keep wrkin it Tyra!!

I am 28 yrs and still get pimples which like you, can't keep my hands off them and i end up with these black spots that subtracts a lot from ur beauty;outward beauty i mean. You should put a canadian girl on there with her stories.Patricia fought a hard acne battle she was scabbing and puss; she was 12 and just won the eastcoast top model search and had to go to big city toronto ; and be seen by big agents. when we left there she was known as the beauty with bad skin,and come back in a few years.she now says it was a blessing in disguise. patricia now has perfect skin and literally stops traffic at 21 yrs old. she;s waiTing for her idols cindy crawford and tyra to start up an agency so she can model for them LOL.we found a derm who put her on acutane also my son. its a very potent drug, for really bad acne. you have to have blood work done monthly.if under 18 your parents have to go with you.good luck its just par with teen yrs mostly..

What is the vaseline thing? How and when do you use it?

I was reading a few of the comments and for some of the girls that have mild acne I don't know if they have ever tried this but, here's my story. I had always had perfect skin all through out high school. I always used just bar soap and baby lotion but... I started to get a pimple here and there and it really bothered me. One day a girl that comes into my store who is a cosmetoligist told me that that was so bad for my skin and that I needed to use a face wash, so I did. I tried different kinds and it made my face break out more. Being as how I never got pimples before people would make a BIG deal out of me have 2 or 3 and would make assumptions that I was doing drugs because my face was breaking out and it never use to, no matter where I would be at everyone who knew me would be like "Why do you have pimples" making me feel like I was doing something wrong when in all reality it was from the different face washes I was using. I heard that actress Kate Hudson used Cetahpil to wash her face so I decided to try it. My skin is better then ever now. I use the face wash and the lotion. I am assuming that because my skin is so sensitive that the stuff in other face cleaners was causing me to break out and because cetaphil has no lanolins, parabens, and fragrances that can irritate sensitive skin it has made my skin look 100% better. And you can use it for your whole body. I am a cashier so working with money all day really dry out my hands and this stuff makes them feel way better. I love it and I really beleive that all the other stuff was just to strong for my skin causing more breakouts, my skin is so soft now it's unbeleivable. Try it

Hey Tyra! Great show. I use the Mario Badescu products and they work great for me. I'm kind of tempted to try your routine just to see how it works. I have dry skin as well and always use vaseline and might try the aveeno bar.
