Dear Tyra,
I am not asking for this makover for myself but for someone much more deserving; my mom. My mom has recently gone through a very rough divorce and it's just her and I now. It has been very hard for her to make this transition from a married woman of 14 years to a single mom. She spends all her time working and never spends any money or time on herself. She has been the greatest mom, always there for me and always doing anything and everything for me. She is 47 and a seriously hard worker, with the absolutely biggest heart of anyone i've ever met; and I am not just saying that because she is my mom. I feel so bad because she never has the money to buy new clothes and most the time she's wearing my old t-shirts and jeans. I'm 18 and I feel like she shouldn't have to wear her teenage daughter's handy downs. Don't you? I just wish that for once I could do something for her or maybe you can do something for her! I never thought I would do something like this but, PLEASE HELP TYRA!
Thank you for this opportunity. hope all is well.
Sincerly Hopeful,
Brittany

Hi Tyra,
I am a Nigerian. And am actually writing from Nigeria. I watch ur show every weekday am not too tired from work. I am 28yrs Old and work as a secretary. I am not writing to ask for a make over but to say that I like the idea behind ur show. Lots of women are made to feel inadequate cos of their size. I am on the heavy size and went out for seven years with a man who constantly complained abt my weight. Then I always made sure I eat less and jogged four times a week so he wont leave me. Eventually he did leave. I have learnt to love me first b4 another can. Currently am in another relationship and he only says to exercise and b fit but as to being big, I cant help it. I have big bones and I know am not created thin or slim. My favourite of ur shows is the one u talked abt pictures some nut posted on the net abt ur weight. I loved how positive u were abt the whole issue and I cried with u and all the women that have to deal with such comments. Am glad there is someone like u and Oprah to make women like us feel good and not alone.

Hi Tyra, I know I might not be as deserving as some of your other that are asking for this makeover, but I have had a really rough year. I went through surgery for thyroid cancer in November, and had to have basel cell carcinoma removed from my face, under my eye, then was in a very serious car wreck in Feb. and got messed up pretty bad. Just went through neck surgery again and had to have fusions and plates, and gotten some teeth knocked out also, lost my glasses in the wreck too and cannot afford to replace them, due to being disabled now,and my self-esteem is just about nil. I am 42 and single, and would like to get my life back. I would really like to have a make over. I believe that would help me out alot mentally. Thank You for your time and God Bless. P.S. I love your show, it's just awesome.

Dear Tyra.
I was considering asking you to pick me for the makeover as I'am a natural redhead living in a brunette and blond world.
However I would love it if you could consider my mom.
She's been thru alot in the last few years. Had to deal with my brother and his wife when he was deployed to Iraq, lost her job of 25yrs with no benefits or retirement. Recently lost her mother to Alzheimers.
Has had to deal with her selfish siblings. I could go on and on, but these are a few things she has had to endure. My mom is my rock and my best friend this would be the best gift I could do for her since she has never ask for anything in return.
Thank you Thank You

Tyra,
I'm a 44 year old wife, mother of 6 (ages 17 - 26) and grandmother. Since I was 18 it seems that all I've done is put others before me. Not that I'm complaining because I'd do it all again, but now it's time to do something for me. I never really had the time to learn anything about fashion and beauty. I know absloutely nothing about fashion, make-up or hair. I'm so self-conscious about this, I will find a way to discretely walk away from or hide behind my husband when someone walks up to him whenever we are in public. I find ways and places to hide. I want to feel the same pride in the way I look when I go out with my husband, that he has in me. I want the confidence when I go some where with my daughter that I don't look like her tired, worn out mother of 6. Having someone teach me what are the right things for my body shape, skin color, hair type would be like a Cinderella dream come true for me. Thanks.

Dear Tyra,
My name is Atria and i'm 22 yrs old. All my life i have always asked my self am i pretty enough do i look fat in this. My sense of style is kind of tomboyish i always wear jeans and sneakers and i really need a change. Tyra i know i'm beautiful but sometimes i feel like an ugly duckling. Whenever i take a pic i don't show my teeth because i hate my smile. I think if i get a makeover i would feel a whole lot better about my appearance and it would boost my self-esteem drastically.

I have a niece named Nicole who desperately needs a makeover. Let me give you some background on her. My sister (her mother) is Caucasian and her father was African American. Her father passed away about 8 years ago and she never knew his family and was raised in a white family, so she does not know how to take care of her hair. She uses hairspray and gels, things that dry her hair out even more. About a year ago I brought her to get her hair straightened and it fell out by the handfuls. She was so upset and sad and I felt so awful. Every week we watch “America’s Next Top Model” and she always makes comments about Tyra’s hair and every other ethnic girl, how beautiful their hair is and how she wishes that she could have hair like them.
She also has a lot of acne on her face and she tries to cover them up with liquid make-up and it doesn’t help, it makes it look worse. She uses acne cleansers but nothing gets rid of them. She has hair growth on her face as well, her jaw line, sideburns and neck all have long hairs on them. She needs to get Laser Hair Removal but can not afford it. Also, in one year she went from a size “A” bra to “FF”. Her breast are huge and is checking into getting a breast reduction operation. She needs to learn how to dress for her size and shape. She wears tight jeans and tight shirts that show every roll and crevice that she has.
I hope that she gets picked for a makeover from Tyra. Although this letter sounds harsh, I want you to know that she is a beautiful person inside and out. She is so much fun to be around, she is always in a good mood and is always laughing and makes the most out of every situation. I love her so much. She has the most beautiful brown eyes that I have ever seen.
She is a senior this year and it would be great for her to have a make-over for her special day. I am so very proud of her. Please pick her !!!!

Dear Tyra,
My name is Ariel. I am sixteen years old and in the tenth grade. I know you said this season that your makeovers were going to be about homes; but just in case you decide to do your regular; FIERCE makeovers, I want to tell you that I truly think that I need one badly. Like I said, I am sixteen years old and very overweight. That doesn't bother me as much as the way I look. I carry myself well for a big girl, and I'm still trying to lose a lot of the weight. I think I need a makeover because I'm very depressed with my life. I've had one boyfriend and we only lasted for two weeks. The biggest problem I have would have to be my teeth. I have a permanant discoloration on my two front teeth and it's so embarassing. I'm a girl that likes to smile becuase of how rarely happy I usually am. People say that when I smile I'm the brightest person in the room, but I hate to do it because I can't stand the look of my teeth. Another thing that really bothers me about myself is really my face. I think I look horrible and I try to put on makeup, but I don't really know what I'm doing. So, I end up looking like I let a three year old smear concealer all over my face. And then there's my hair. Well. I got it cut very short, and I liked it in the beginning, but then I started letting it go curly instead of straighting it in the morning. After I did that for a few weeks, it wouldn't straighten right anymore, and as a woman of color it's hard enough to straighten my hair already. I don't have very coarse hair, but it's just the curse (as I like to call it) of having the 'mixed person afro'. It's always so HUGE. My last problem is that I don't know what to wear to suit myself. I've seen your 'Taliored By Tyra' makeover shows and I think you can turn anyone into a confident, good-looking, person. If you could do that to me Tyra, I'm telling you I would be the happiest person in the face of this earth. The real reason I want this makeover, Tyra, is that I'm VERY into musical theatre. I love being in every musical I can be in and I don't think I get lead roles because of the way I look. My dream is to one day be on Broadway, and I will do anything to reach that goal. Another thing is, my family is really going through a rough spot. We're hardly able to pay all our bills and we're struggling. I just wish I could go out and look nice so I could get a good job so I could help my mom out with all the bills. I apply to everywhere and after the interview I know they're thuinking that I'm unprofessional for how I look and I know they don't want to give me a job. Lastly, Tyra, I just want to say I also want this makeover because you're my biggest hero. I love your attitude, personality, look and everything else so much. I never miss your show and I love to watch you on ANTM being FIERCE as always and I want to look as FIERCE as you! Thank You for listening, Tyra, even if you don't pick me you'll STILL be my hero!
Love much,
Ariel

I've been dying my hair since about 4th grade and it has become a dry, frizzy, weak and damaged disaster! on top of that, I'm now in the 9th grade and still have a closet full of guy's clothes it would be great to have a new makeover for my freshman year, and have recently made the varsity cheer squad which has given me new regained confidence in myself. Tyra,
I'm a 44 year old wife, mother of 6 (ages 17 - 26) and grandmother.

Love much,
Ariel

Hey tyra! Since about the 3rd grade I ALWAYS dressed like a boy until I hit the 7th grade or so. With Love, your biggest fan,
Zahreh Barry
