Hi Tyra!
I am going to marry the most amazing man in the whole world. He proposed to me on my birthday and calling it perfect could never do it justice. However, after a very teary discussion between us one night, I told him that I did not want to marry him until I could look at him and smile. My plan was to start my dental work once I graduated from college and got a job. My parents cannot afford it. I have been trying to plan a wedding but all I can think about is how my smile will look on camera. I have hid it all my life. My fiance says he loves my smile and that it is fine the way it is and I know he truly means that. But I want to love my smile and not be ashamed anymore.

NOTHING works, not proactive or anything the dermatologist gives me. to wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and see fabulous skin would be a dream! Also, to top that i have the most damaged, fried and frizziest hair. no matter how much frizz ease (by john frieda) i put in..i walk outside and BAM!.. major frizz. Also, its impossible to do anything to it..i straighten it but that just ruins it and kills it. i dunno what to do about these nasty things. Any suggestions?¿? please write back ~C~

Hi Miss Tyra,I am sitting in my local library and you were the first thing that came to mind.I am 24 years old and a stay at home mother of three.I recently married my childrens father after many years of ups and downs.(things are better now)I spend most of my free time watching your shows..i'm writting because i need to say thank you becuse your positive energy helps me stay positive.I very rarely go out anymore and i must say I have been slacking on my appearence..which my husband makes a point to tell me about at least 3 times a week:)It kinda hurts when my 5 year old asks who is in that picture...and its me right before ahe was born. Man,alot can happen in 5 years. I feel like I'm in my 40's already...and most of my friends drifted away because I've changed so much.I think a makeover would be great, but i can't imagine leaving my children to go to NYC for my own pleasure.I put my children first in every aspect of my life, then my husband, then me.I think thats who it should be...Right? So I will continue to watch your shows and I will keep smiling at you from home. You are a wonderful person Tyra and I'm sure you know it. Thank you for letting me vent a little. Yours Truly, Laura

To write this makes me have to come to terms with the reality that I can't always have total control over my life; sometimes things take a turn for the worse. When I was dignosed with cancer I had to learn at a young age how hard life could be. Wondering why I couldn't be like those kids I would always see in the playground across from the hostipal. As I got over my illness with chemotherapy I was finally considered in remission thanks to the only father figure present in my life...my lord and savior Jesus Christ. Any other father figure created a false sense of security that was followed by inappropriate actions; something that sticks within my memory no matter how much I try to forget. Growning up in a multiracial family but dominated in Jamaican decent everything in my familly occured in secret. If you had a problem deal with it yourself because asking for help would be showing weakness. I didn't tell my family about my milestation until many years after and it was almost in disbelief that they received the understanding that it was someone so involved in my life; my uncle. I decided to break free from my families ways and beliefs; although I have love for them; I knew that this wasn't the way I wanted to live my life. I've been working since I was fifthteen years old trying to provide the type of lifestyle that I've dreamed of and when I got the oppurtunity I ran for it. I got my own place and have been trying to add my personal touches here and there not sure of it ever being able to be completed. I got a good job working at a bank that created a way for my future to go to school and acheive a degree. When I lost my job, I lost my dream. I was dealing with a manager that seemed like after hiring me she was trying to seek out any reason to terminate me. I believe I was only filling an affimative action slot within the company. Now with the rent due and my lights in the rears and my water shut off, I don't know what to do with no family member to reach out to and every foundation out of funds. I've tryed everything to stay in that house. I don't know if it's too late to ask for your help; but you've always been an inspiration to me because of your conifidence within yourself, the kindness you show, and the difference you've made in so many people's lives. Even if you don't find this priority God bless you and continue your benenovolent actions.

Dear Tyra,
I'm a mess. I am 24 years old and I work for the local hospital. I live alone and since the hospital takes up most of my time I really don't have much time to do anything with myself. And to be honest I don't think I have the first clue. My little sister is getting married in August and I'm a bridesmaid. Apparently I have to be commanded by my mother to wear a dress. Which I don't think will be very flattering on me or easy on the family's eyes. I've always been the rocker girl type who wears jeans and black t-shirts. I wear crazy black make up love my hair to be weird colors of the rainbow. I guess I just want to do something nice for my sister on her wedding day and not be a total embarassment. Please help my strange goth girl wild ways!

Dear Ms Tyra Banks,
I watch your show all the time and America's Next Top Model too.
When I was a kid I was made fun of alot . I was called fat and ugly through out most of elementary & middle school. Boys never really noticed me. I never went to a high school dance or prom , because I never felt as pretty like the other girls. I was always made fun of with my weight. It goes up and down like a yo-yo. When I was 18 in my senior year of highschool ,I was in an auto accident and hit my face against the steering wheel. A week later I had to take my senior pictures . I was horrible . My face was swollen and brusied . I had big hair and way too much make-up on to cover up the bruises and cuts. I never went to prom because I had surgery on my jaw . Which in turn left scars on my face. After that I started getting Psoriasis on my hands too. I was horrible . When I was working as a cashier people would always say whats wrong with your hands , or don't touch me . I was even turned away from a jewelry store when i was picking out my engagement ring saying they didn't want me touching there jewelry . Now that I've been sick with all sorts of medical problems. Some which they can't explain . But they put me on Levoxyl a thyroid medicine that makes my hair fall out . I 'm losing the only thing I was ever commented on . I was always told what beautiful reddish brown hair I have. Thats the only thing I ever had to hold on to . I also lost a lot of weight . I can't find jeans or clothes to dress my self correctly. So I think a makeover would help me feel better about my self . Even though I got married to a wonderful loving husband . He thinks I'm the prettiest girl in the world. I've been told by other people whats he doing with someone like me . I would like to show him that I am pretty enough to be his wife . So if you could help me with a makeover that would be the best thing in the world to me .
Thankyou Tyra !
Hopefully yours ,
Jill

Hi tyra i think you are a very nice and pretty person inside and out. I also wanted to thank you for you 'so what' shows. But I have a delemia I am a sixteen year old girl that lives in West Memphis. I have been teased ever since 3rd grade about might weight and ive been teased every since 9th grade about my glasses. usually i get in an argument over this 'mess' should i just sit and take or try to change the person that i am. Everyone that gets to know me says I fun and outgoing. Ive even made a few friends since i started 11th grade im new friends because i like to dance and just act a clown. But for the people that can't get over the weight should i ignore them or say "I fat and beautiful so what". I not really a very girly girl because i grew up with brother that are 8 and 9 years older than me so i really don't have a clue in the fashion department. Can you help me PLEASE. I enjoy watching the show at nights and during the days that i am not at school. Hopefully next ANTM will be plus sized. LOL

Dear Tyra,
I was completely disappointed with your show today. If you are going to have a person with disabilities included, you should supply accommodations for that person. Would you have sent a blind person out by themselves in China? Additionally, her disability should have been explicitly explained to the other models. I was horrified to watch the other participants make fun of her. You made this acceptable by not understanding her disability yourself. I am angry to see such ignorance demonstrated.
