Want A Makeover Tailored by Tyra?

My name is Asia and I am 22. MY mom has been in jail for a year and I really think she needs a new start. She has never been in a loving relationship and has really low self-esteem. My dad was gay so there is nothing there and her last boyfriend is an alcoholic who caused her to be in jail now. I'm taking care of my 15 year old brother and want him to have his mother back. Her teeth are falling out. Her hair is ragged and she looks stressed out. please help.

Tyra-
I would love to give my mother a makeover. She grew up with only brothers and never wore dresses. Later she married a very bad man who used to beat her and he even once cut all her hair off and kidnapped her with my little sister. I have only seen my mother in a dress one time in my life and that was when my 4 year old sister died by a drunk driver. I have never seen my mother really happy in any way and I know it is because she has lost so much and has had so much taken from her. My mother only wears jeans from the mens department and nevers wears any make-up. I think that because she needs to look and feel better she could ruin the marriage that she has now. I just want to see her smile and say I feel sexy.
Thanks for listening,
bobbysue

Tyra,
Your show is so wonderful, I don't get to watch it all the time as I work second shift but I get in as much as I can before heading off to my job.
I would love a Tyra makeover and this is why.
I am a 32 year old mom of two wonderful children, I am divorced but now have the man I deserve and we are planning a wedding for next May 2009. I work at a restaurant and will be going back to school in the fall if all goes as planned. Just recently I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. This has been a very crazy few months for me, my family and my friends. I am currently seeing many specialist and actually have an appointment on Mothers day and the day after to discuss the surgery to remove this nasty little beast and be able to go on with my life. I am a very strong person and have not let this tumor dictate how I go about my life even though it is hard at times not to think about it. I had a life before this news and I will have one after I refuse to let this tumor break me down.
I would love to get a Tyra makeover to boost me not only on the outside but the inside also, I wanna be able to fight this tumor and a makeover would be a great start to my fight. I also would love for everyone to see a beautiful me, since the hair I have now may not be so great after all this.
Tyra thanks for taking the time to read my story I tried to keep it short even though it is a long one, Happy 500th!
Your Friend Tina

I dont have the time or money to even buy these things if i wanted to. I feel I eat, sleep and breathe school. I know it is all a part of growing up and not being able to have little luxuries of new clothes, shoes and makeup. But I have a passion for pictures. I have a passion for modeling. Yet I feel don't have the up to date look agencies want. I watch ANTM religiously and take all the criticism and apply it to myself. I strive for more but feel like I need some help in getting to the next level. Tyra, will you help me. You are my model inspiration and role model for all the diversity you bring to your talk show. You are an amazing person. I would be honored to work with you and be made over by a person with your experience in your profession. Thanks!

Dear Tyra,
In light of mothers day coming up, I would like to share with you a story of one wonderful and brave woman. My mother, Sue; was a single mother who worked nights full time and went to college full time during the day in the effort to provide the best she could for my sister and I. Often she was exhausted from the combination of work, school, and children; yet she always found time to spend with my sister and I. She was always present at any event regarding our extracurricular activities. Through the years she never not even once let on to either my sister or I that we had ever had any financial burden or struggle. She always made sure that we had the necessities, even though sometimes that meant that we didn’t always have the things that we wanted, but none of this really mattered. To us we were the richest family in the world. We had clothes, food, a place to live, and most of all we had each other.
Four years ago my mother was diagnosed with a very rare form of lung cancer, from which she had part of one of her lungs removed and underwent chemotherapy. It was then that I realized exactly what a wonderfully strong person she really was. She never wavered, and did her very best to keep a smile on everybody’s faces in spite of her internal woes and worries. Approximately six months after her surgery and chemo, she was given a clean bill of health. What a relief it was not only to her but the rest of the family also.
Last fall she thought that she had the flu, only it never got better. After three years of being cancer free she was told that the cancer was back, and this time it is inoperable. She has undergone radiation and chemotherapy again, and is waiting for a real prognosis. Yet through all of this to my disbelief she remains strong, and determined to beat this. She is noted for saying “I’m not going down without a fight!”
My sister and I would love nothing more than to give her a day without worry, and to show her how much we appreciate everything she does and her bravery and strength. We would be nothing had it not been for her! I thought that I would like to share her story with you in the hopes that everyone would realize the strength and bravery it takes to deal with cancer.
Thank you for taking the time to listen to her story, I wrote you because I thought that maybe you having had a mother whom you pride as much as we pride ours, could appreciate our gratefulness towards our mom.

Sincerely,
Cassie Nickell

Hey Tyra
I know I live too far away to get a makeover, but I really need one. I am a 43 yr old mother of two son's 20 and 17, who has recently had a baby girl(8.5months). I was laid off from my job and I have been house bound since my daughter has been born. I am still running to all my son's sporting events, and I am taking care of my daughter alone. I am too exhausted to even think about me. The hair is bad, and of course so is the body. I look so worn out and old, that people think my daughter is my oldest son's child. Please help me. I'll never find a good job looking like this.

Dear Tyra,

My 23 year old daughter Brandii deserves to have a makeover. She has PCOS and has gain an extensive amount of weight. Her weight issues really can get her down but you would never know it. I am sure you understand some of the things she goes through being overweight as displayed on one of your shows.

People tell her the outfits she wear make her look too old. She has a hard time piecing together outfits that suits her age and body type. She can not afford to buy many items.

She works very hard and is a very responsible young lady. Brandii currently has a job and she is working on starting a non profit organization for women getting out of prison and a home daycare center. She is a very outgoing, intelligent and beautiful young lady inside and out.
She also volunteers and was a participant in high school with Mikva Challenge, an organization working with high school kids on getting involved in elections, activism and/or policymaking.

My daughter has been on the radio, done group discussion on television, been interviewed in the newspaper etc. taking a stance and informing others on different issues. She has made many strides in life and I am very proud of Brandii!

This makeover would truly help her in the area she needs it most; dressing successfully for different occasions and according to her body type! It certainly would give her the boost she needs!

Thank you for taking the time to read this posting! You are doing a great job! Keep up the good work!

Tyra,
I would really love to have a make over . I'm 48 and look like I am 60 . Eight years ago my 15 year old daughter committed suecide . After that I went down hill and used ever drug I could think of to kill the pain and nothing worked, so I knew I was going to die if I kept going the way I was going. So I put myself in a drug rehab and got cleaned And been clean for six and a half years. I've felt so sad for so long. and I would love to feel good about myself once before I die. My tattered face is the result of drug use and extreme , great heart ache. Please could you help me?
Thank you ,

Hey Tyra,
I really need a makeover. I have been a stay at home mom for almost 8 years. My wardrobe consists of t- shirts and jeans or elastic waisted pants. I am studying homeopathy and will need some nice, easily affordable outfits for when I start up my business. I will go to the store and fill up a basket of clothes for me but on the way to the checkout I end up putting them all back as I would rather give my children clothes than have them for myself.

Dear Tyra,

I'm a 19 year old mother who really needs some help with a new makeover. I gave birth to a very premature baby when I was 17, he was born at 25 weeks instead of 40. For 3 months I sat beside his incubator praying to God he would live and lead a healthy life. He's 1 now and doing great! We have many specialists for him so that he can grow into a happy healthy little boy :) But last year in September I lost my father from alcoholism. I have been heartbroken ever since. I live with my Boyfriend in a beautiful home with two roommates but as soon as we can get out of debt we plan on getting our own place. I've had a really hard time trying to find a style to suit me, but I really don't know what I'm doing..and with a 1 year old its hard to find the time and cash! Please Tyra will you help me! Love you Sooo Sooo Much, you are an inspiration to Women and especially myself and other young girls. Watching your show has helped me in so many ways.. from self esteem to well, the boy troubles haha. Thank you and Take Care xo

Hello Tyra,
I am a 28 year old single mom. I have a wonderful 10 year old daughter, who looks up to me. She is the reason I started college a year ago because of what she said to me. One day my daughter and I were watching t.v and she just turned to me and said,"mommy I'm sorry you could go to college because you had me so young, but I want you to go now. I had to fight back some tears after she told me this. Just because she said this I did, she is very inspiring to be so young. I watch your show everyday and loves your topics. Also, I want the world to know about my amazing mother and grandma. Theses two ladies are wonderful to anyone who comes around them. My mom is the type to give you the shirt off her back. Grandma is not really my blood, but she is more like family to us. Grandma does a lot for my daughter and I am very grateful for her coming into my familes lives more then 27 years ago. These woman have serious medical problems and they don't let that stop them at all. I hope that I can make this Mother's Day their best ever.

Hi Tyra and Tyra Fans,

My name is Alondra and I'm 24 yrs old. I have a child who in May will be turning 5 months and he is so adorable. I live with my boyfriend of 2 yrs and he is the best. I lost my confidence almost 13 yrs ago and I have felt all sort of emotions about the way I look. My issue is I have a scarred face that was caused by multiple years of horrible acne. I know it might sound stupid but I if I could show you pictures then maybe you would understand. In addition I endured a type of abuse when I was younger. All my life I have longer for a beautiful and soft face but I never got the chance, even before I started middle school.

What made it worse for me were the constant starring, questioning, and untactful advice I would get just walking down the street about how to treat my acne. I did try going to a dermatologist where I was told that my acne was more of a facial infection and might actually be hereditary. I was given accutane and it help clear most of my acne but revealed my scarred face. I feel hopeless and I have thought about buying over the counter products but end up not doing so because I'm really scared that the products might do worse damage to my face. I’ve heard everything from name calling to hearing really, really hurtful comments from friends, boys, and my Dad. Before this gets any longer I guess what I really would like is help in how to fix or hide my flaw. Whether it is make up, or even on how to apply it properly, or over the counter products you trust. I need to get my self confidence back before it hurts me more or my relationship. Is long over due and I want to feel good about myself. Just writing this has opened my faucet of tears. So to anyone please help. My e-mail is avlama@yahoo.com any suggestions are appreciated.

(p.s. - i tried putting this on the fix or flaunt your flaw blog but it doesn't work)

With Love,
Fan Alondra

Dear Tyra,
Im a single 24 year old mom. I have the most beautiful 24 year old daughter ever. I live with my parents and go to school full time. I am currently looking for a job since my current job was more of a seasonal position so ive been completely broke for the last almost 5 months and have been trying to pay off two credit cards i have so i have no money to ever do anything really fun or to take care of myself. Ive had alot of self esteem issues throughout highschoola and alot of college. I used to get made fun of for my weight in hs and am still trying to cope with it and try to get in shape.Ive always had alot of emotional problems as well due to the fact that im adopted and was abused as a child. My hair is a handful to deal with. Ive always had really frizzy course hair and spend about an hour to an hour and a half to straighten it when i do straighten it. I dont have alot of nice cloths.I love fashion but dont have much money at all to spend on new cloths. Ive been wearing alot of the same stuff i had from hs still and ive been out for 6 years. Id really love a makeover. Can you please help me. I love your show and love all that you do to help people tyra. I just want to wish you a happy bday as well on the 500th episode. I really enjoyed watching it today.

Lots of Love and God Bless,
Jennifer

Hi Tyra, my name is Kelly and I have watched your show almost everyday since it has been on. Your shows have an amazing impact on so many lives and I would like for your show to have an impact on my mom's life too . She is an amazing woman who has worked every day to give me and my siblings the best that she possibly can. My family is very active in sports and many other things and my mom has basically given her life to make sure we get to every event and game and that we had every opportunity. She has had very little time for herself and I would love I love to give something back to her because she deserves so much. She also has worked as a nurse for over 20 years so not only does she help our family but thousands of other families as well. I hope that you can help me give my mom what she deserves. Good luck with all of your great work and helping women see the best in themselves, you are doing a great thing.

Hello Tyra!

I am 32 years old and am actually writing to request a makeover for my mom. I am a military spouse, so I haven't lived near my mom for the last 14 years. She is 54 years old and was diagnosed with reumatoid arthritis just over a year ago. This happened right after she moved near me. She has basically given up on herself and has resigned herself to being "fat and old". It deeply saddens me that this beautiful woman is so unhappy. She has quit leaving the house and only goes out when she has to go to WalMart or Hancock Fabric. I would love to show her that she doesn't need to look like she is in her 30's to be beautiful. Can you help me find the vibrant woman that I know is in there? Thank you for reading this.

Hi Tyra
I love your show. This request is for my mother and my sister. My mother was a single mother of five kids. My sister helped raise us (she is the oldest of the five) They have both had a rough couple of years. We lost my dad three years ago and my sister is having a hard time. She is gay and just came out a couple of years ago. The first girlfriend she had managed to convince her that there is noone out there for her since she has left her. I think it would be great for them if they could get a makeover. I think it would also really boost my sisters confidence in herself. Thanks

Hello Tyra,

My name is Keena Ahmed, and this is the first time that I've ever entered anything. I'm 32 years old and I have a two year old daughter. I'm a stay at home mother and a full-time student. Being a stay-at-home mother has been one of the most rewarding, challenging, and exhausting jobs I have ever done and I wouldn't change one thing about it. My husband is a very supportive and wonderful person, but with one income, there is not a lot of extra money to be glammed up. And when I do have extra money, I tend to spend it on my daughter or for the house. Your priorities tend to change when you have a family, and mothers tend to put everyone and everything first. I would like to have a tailored make-over and put myself first, with out the feelings of guilt. It would be like giving something back to my family, especially my husband for all he does for me.

Hello Tyra,

My name is Chauncey and I recently saw your commercial about doing something special for your mother on mother's day (obviously hundreds of people saw it before i did, you got a lot of reading to do)! I would like for you to give my wonderful mother a makeover because, for one she deserves it. She's a single mother who does everything she can for me and my spoiled older sister and nephew and she just needs something good to happen for a change to get her mind off of bills and other daily stress. She also is in the process of losing weight and she's insecure about some types of clothing and she's not really sure about what looks good on her or not. So I would love for you to give her this opportunity to boost her confidence while she's going through the process of losing weight and to show her what to wear and how to wear it! Thanks!

Hey tyra. My name is katherine, im 17yrs old I watch your show everyday. i have an amazing mother and she has no idea that im writing to you, but i would love to do something special for her. i have a 12yr old little sister and my mom has sacarficed everything to put us both threw private school and give us the best education. she's always helping everyone out. she very involved in our church no limits and she wants to help kids and make a difference. she's even planning a mission trip for teens to go to tijuana mexico and build houses. not only does she want a better life for her family but the people around her to. she's even put her dreams of becoming a singer behind so that me and my sister can follow ours of becoming models. my mother is an amazing singer and she put her dreams on hold so she can give her girls everything. my mother is a wonderful women she works from 8 to 6 every day and comes home and cooks and cleans for the family. me, my sister and my father are very grateful for her. my mom is like my best friend, she is so opened minded and gives me her honest opinion. she isn't old fashion and understands what teens go threw today. she is like a mother to many of the youth in our church. without my mom i cant imagine the type of person i would turn out to be. im so glad to have a strong women like her to help me out threw my lowest points in life. my mother puts everyone before herself. she hasnt pampered or bought herself anything in almost a year because either me and my sister need something or she's to busy trying to do a project that's gonna change the lives of teens and get them interested productive activies. she helps me sponsor a child in uganda and we write to this little girl evey month and my mom also helped my host a french foreign exchange student in my house, it was a wonderful experience and my mom helped me show her the best time in new york. tyra i love my mother, she is so amzing and i believe she really deserves this.

thank you.

Hi Tyra, my name is Melissa and I believe my mom deserves a makeover. She is beautiful the way that she is but I just want her to feel good. It has been a very tough year for my family as my younger sister passed away from cancer. My mom has tried to put a front on and has tried to show no pain and remain strong for myself and my two younger sisters. I know everyday is a struggle and this would be so special for her.

wow tyra i know you have an lot of letters to read and mine is just one in a few but here i go. my name is alanna lyles and i would really love to get my mom something really special for mothers day. my mom is a single mother of two and barely has enough time to do anything for herself. she is always running to my brother roberts school(he is a always in trouble) to find out about his grades. she bring us to our after school activities(i am a cheerleader and a girl scout and my brother played football basketball lacross). my mom is the most loving person in the world. tyra she went and spent thousands of dollars even though we really didnt have it (my dad is not helping) for me to go to china because i want to be an engineer and it would be a good oppurtunity for me. i love my mother to death and i would just like to give her something nice for all the things shes done for me. well thank you so much for reading this message. ~alanna~
