Another organisation that should be avoided is that of:
fabulousflashcast com
'PLEASE AVOID THEM'
I understand that they still operate despite many many bad write-ups, unhappy parents and ripoof reports! They seem to be another who prey on the Aspirations of Youngsters and attempt to get as much money from parents in doing so!
There are many opportunities out there for youngsters without the need to line the pockets of such money grabbing operators! So stay safe!

Many establisted Agencies now accept Petite Models to their books, as it has become a acknowledged area of modeling!
You could also try submitting yourself to relevant Magazines etc, by targetting the Fashion Editors with your photos and details, that may get you a foot in the door!

I'm looking to go into petite modeling, do you know any good agencies in NY?
Posted by: Margot | June 18, 2008 2:52 PM
Hina this is MIKE in the U.K! There are opportunities for Petite Models, definately within Print Modeling and such like, just note my earlier posting below regarding Sienna Miller as an example of Success!A good agency should be able to put you forward for appropriate work. I wish you success.

Mayra! Hey this is MIKE in the UK!
Modeling is a hard industry to get recognised in, but no harder than any other field of work, you need to step carefully and realistically to get you foot on the ladder in Modeling!
you mentioned mixed race and South American models being noticed more, well Mayra just one example coming up in the next week or so is Brazilan Fashion Week which has been going on for many years now, it is now in two locations and some of the finest Models actually show Beachwear and Beach Fashions for Top Designers there, so that should be one inspiration for you.
Begin by trying to model a few things locally to get a kinda resume going, fashion stores or such like! Don't pay out for Professional Photos, try to find an Aspiring Photographer who will do you a set of photos to a good standard for free in return for he/she being able to Show-Case their own Talents, this is called TFP and is generally accepted as a good route forward for New models, TFP being Time for Prints! You give your time as Model for free prints of Photo Shoots!
If you go that route, please ensure that you and Parent check out the person thoroughly first though ok!
Just a few ideas and hope they help!
Good Luck from
MIKE

Hi Tyra,
My name is Mayra and I live in Atlanta, Ga. I am 5"7 and I am 13 years old. I was watching the True Hollywood Story of you and I couldn’t believe how hard it was for you when you where growing up. My parents were divorced, when I was in elementary school I was at a point when people thought I was sick because I was so skinny. You are my role model!! But I always think that I can’t be a model because I am Latin American. I was born in Massachusetts but my moms from Colombia and my dads from Peru. So I am a mix of both. Can you possibly have a show that specifically tells girls/teens , who want to be models, tell them it doesn’t matter if you’re white or colored? I know a lot of people who say they can’t be a model because there race. That’s not right. If you do cast a show like that may I be invited to that show? Please? That’s one of my dreams to be on one show of The Tyra Banks Show. Like I said you are my role model. I look up at my mom but you are the person who has made me still believing in what I always wanted to do. The way I found out about modeling is from you. I love modeling, not just because you get to put on make-up and wear there outstanding designs I love it because it shows who you are. I have never modeled a day in my life but I think I have what it takes to become a model. So I was wondering if you knew where I can find a great modeling agency to become the model I am going to be. Can I possibly be a model for your show? Or any other place? I saw the show that three girls came in and they fit the sunglasses that looked best on there face. Could I do something like that? I want to be recognized. Thank you,
-Mayra

Hi Michelle, this is Mike in the U.K. Modeling has become far more progressive in recent years and now not just for the likes of Super models! Therefore, there are now opportunities for Models from all walks, looks and stature. A typical example is Sienna Miller UK Vogues 'December Model' - Inspiring Smaller models! She is 5'1" I believe and at the top of the tree already in Petite Modeling, so that is encouraging to see!you can consider other forms of Modeling also, for example Body Part Modeling Legs, Wrists etc or Head Shot modeling, these are all used in Print Modeling environments and advertising! Good Luck Michelle from
