Hi y’all!

So today I was in the mall shopping at the after Thanksgiving sales with my mom, aunt and cousin. My mom loves costume jewelry so I headed to that department with her and ended up getting tons of costume jewelry myself. People think I am wearing the real thing, so why buy the real thing? I bought two gorgeous pairs of hoop earrings that are studded with diamonds. One had a platinum toned background, the other a gold background. I paid about $20 bucks for each. If they were real, they probably would have cost about $5,000 EACH!!! They don't call me the “Queen of Cheap” for nothin'!

So anyway, I was on my way out the door when a display caught my eye in the skincare section. My friends and all the people I work with have been talking about this hocus pocus face moisturizer that is supposed to make you look flawless with NO makeup on. It's supposed to give your skin a rebirth and make it as soft as a newborn baby's. I have heard about this stuff for years, but I never bought into it. I always thought it was a marketing ploy to get women to buy the stuff. And guess how much the STUFF costs.....ALMOST TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So there I was walking past the skin care section, on my way to my car. By the way, my mom and aunt were calling my name and telling me their feet hurt and they were ready to leave. And you all know about the after Thanksgiving sales - the stores stay open later than usual, so it was late. In fact, it was 10 p.m. in that store and all of the saleswomen were ready to lock up and go home to their families. But my butt slowed down and walked up to that expensive face stuff. I told the saleswoman, "Everybody in the world has been telling me about this stuff for years, but I don't believe the insane stories that it is a miracle cream." So guess what my dumb butt did? I bought it! Can you believe it??? The “Queen of Cheap” put down $200 for this stuff. I think I may have lost my mind tonight! I think for a second I fell for what I call the "okey-doke." For a split second, I believed this stuff could transform my skin into the skin I had when I was 10 years old - before sun exposure, popped pimples and tons of makeup ravaged my skin. I looked into that saleswoman’s eyes and said, "I'll take one." And I didn't just buy the small jar, I bought the medium. Yes. I think I have officially lost my mind.

So here I sit in front off this computer and I have just snapped a pic of myself with the miracle cream on my face. I don't think I look one bit different from when I usually wash my face at night. But this is only day one. Or, night one. Let's see what I look like in a month. I better have skin as soft as my newborn booty!

I wonder what Mr. Jay from “Americas Next Top Model” would say about this extravagant face cream purchase I made today. I think he's gonna laugh in my face. Mr. Jay is coming on the TYRA SHOW this Thursday, November 30th. I have trusted him to do my makeup for about 10 years now. He is fabulous. He is a true makeup genius! He created his own makeup line that is selling like hotcakes now, and he is coming on the show to talk about it. He also shows us how to get Angelina Jolie's lips and Lucy Liu's cheekbones without surgery. It was fun interviewing Mr. Jay because we really are extremely close friends. We share our deepest thoughts with one another, and I think you'll be able to see our great bond when you watch the show. I'm just wondering how he is going to react when I tell him my $200 secret. Oh goodness...

Alrighty, I am on my way to bed now. It is 12:17 a.m., so I am a bit sleepy. Should I sleep on my back to keep my expensive moisturizer on my face? I feel kinda dumb buying the stuff. Hopefully, in the morning, I'll look in the mirror and feel that it was all worth the ridiculous two Benjamins I paid for it.

P.S. What was/is your most ridiculous purchase? And I'll just let ya know right now, it doesn't have to cost as much as $200 bucks to be ridiculous. Sometimes spending $5 on something that wasn't worth it is absolutely RIDICULOUS. Tell me below...
