MESSAGE FROM TYRA: Diet Secrets and Food Weaknesses

Hey everybody!

On Thursday, September 21st, I am doing a show on CELEBRITY DIET SECRETS. From time to time, I have tried to lose weight - just a few pounds because I like my curves. Sometimes it was for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows. Actually, when I was losing weight for those shows, I was REALLY trying to lose cellulite. People in the audience would be sitting soooo close to the runway, so I would try to get rid of at least a couple of dimples on the backs of my thighs. Usher was in the audience one year and I was soooooo paranoid that he saw my booty dimples. I also try to shed some pounds after the holidays because I always gain about 10 pounds after Christmas and New Year's.

I have always used different methods to shed weight. I have tried the South Beach Diet. That works really well but it's hard for me to keep up with it. I have tried cutting out carbs entirely. That works, but then I start feeling weak and faint and end up having bread attacks where I eat ALL of the bread and butter on the table everyday for 2 weeks!!! I've tried exercising, while still eating all the foods I want. That kind of works, but then I feel kind of stupid on the treadmill after eating a burger with extra cheddar cheese, bacon and a fried egg on it (eggs on burgers is AMAZING.) Oh, and we can't forget an order of curly fries with extra ketchup and a super thick vanilla shake! Then, while I'm on the treadmill all I can think about is how foolish I am for thinking that 20 minutes on the treadmill is gonna burn that burger away!

Now I do this diet where I eat everything I want. I honestly lost 10 pounds in a month doing it, but it's not as simple as it sounds. You gotta watch the CELEB DIETS SHOW on Thursday, September 21st to see how it's done.

What are some diets you have tried that have worked? What are some that haven't? Post it on the boards to let me know.

My food weaknesses are ice cream (I LOVE ICE CREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), potato chips with French onion dip, BBQ ribs and Bread! Bread, bread, and more BREAD (with extra butter)!!!!!!!! What are your food faves? Lemme know...

I have tried so many diets from south beach like you mentioned, and none of them have worked im from Miami, Im 5'3 and down here its such a demand to look awesome as you probably have seen, but my 1 weakness is latin food because of the grease it has, I just cant find a diet that will help me lose the bulge and seening you on tv looking so curvy but tight makes me strive but it get me down wen i diet, and work my butt off for months and get nothing but your incouragements help and inspire everyone hope to meet you one day. I'm a big fan of yours and my younger sister loves you too. I wish you can come to South Africa and host your show for maybe a week. Anyway I love you very much girl and your show has taught me a lot of things in life and I don't mind watching it the whole day. Carry on doing what you are doing,you're not doing it for yourself only but for people like us.

Hey Tyra,
Im 13 and i have lived in england for one yr, as soon as i moved here i gained ALOT of weight. all the girls here are anorexic thin and summer is coming up and i wanna get a tan and wear a bikini!! i cant because i have saggyness EVERYWHEERE!! im fatter than my older sister and my MUM!! my brothers n sisters are allways teasing me how im fat, they SAY theyre only joking but when i look in the mirror i realize wat they see and no they are not joking! Im starving myself, and writing down wat i eat everyday because i heard that helps...BUT IT DOESNT!!!
im depressed to the MAX and i feel like giving up on everything. im hungry right now and trying to thing positive like the other girls said but theres nothing positive. i act like im happy all the time to my friends but they dont no im starving myself at home. my cousin was anorexic last yr and i relaized after she was thin she was POPULAR!! i want to be too but im not thin.

hey tyra,i havent tried any diet pills or any popular diet that is out im doing it the old fashioned way..eating right and exercising about 4-5 times a week..i just had my baby almost 4 months ago and have lost 43 pounds so far but i was breastfeeding to but not that ive stopped about 3 weeks ago i havent lost any more weight..any advice u could give like on what exercise seem to help with losing the weight fastest?thanks alot tyra..

I have no clue! I've tried everything in the books and on the shelf and NOTHING!!! Im thinking about getting married soon and I would love to lose this stomach and these FAT ARMS!! Somebody please help!
