The World Of Exotic Dancers

1106a.jpg
For some people, strip clubs are considered to be the ultimate adult playground, a place where every man’s fantasies can run wild. Others think these clubs and the dancers that work there should be chastised for being obscene and degrading. But many dancers say what they do is a real job that makes them real money. Do you feel this lifestyle is empowering or demoralizing for women?

I am a 70 year old retired black woman and I enjoy the show. Most of the time it is easy to watch but the stripper show gave me a headache because they all talked at the same time. That was quite different from the "beauty pageant" ladies who were well spoken and polite.

The strippers are better role models for young women than the beauty queens. They are honest about exploiting their sexuality and objectifying themselves for money. The honesty may allow them to survive with a healthy self image. I pity the poor beauty queen. Will she ever wake up? Although I consider myself a fairly conservative traditional woman, I am like a radical feminist on the subject of beauty contests. It is an insidious attack on the personhood of women. The beauty contest presents women as sex objects as if to be objectifyed is every young woman's dream come true. I laugh at the term "scholarship" pageant. Miss Whoever is still just a rack and booty dressed up with the illusion of class to make the objectifier and the trafficker in human flesh feel ok about treating women in this dehumanizing manner. It's no wonder only the hopelessly naive and bimbos enter beauty contests these days. The strippers are business women

I am surprised that what I am about to bring up was not discussed on the show. Sexual addiction is an epidemic that is sweeping this country. No one knows because no one talks about it. In fact, the largest group looking at and getting addicted to internet porn is our young boys ranging in age from 12 -17! These men (mostly) have a disease. No different than heroine addiction or alcohol. What I immediately saw on this show were a lot of drug dealers that were dealing the drug of choice to these addicts. No different then the dealer on the corner. No concern for that person's life or family or how it is being destroyed and they are playing party to it. I am not saying every man in a strip club is a sex addict but you have to realize it is a growing and horribly expanding problem in this country. The internet and easily accessible porn is feeding the beast as it grows. Typically, strip clubs are next. These addicts continue down their path of destruction growing ever more ill and needing more and more drug to get the same high. It is a high, too. The brains are actually altered in these addicts. We are not dealing with an EXTERNAL drug. The high they feel is from chemicals released by our own body because their brains have been re-wired. Can you imagine beating something like that? These girls admit they are predators and say they are being preyed upon. I feel in the larger percentage it is actually that the girls are the only predators and their prey are ill people with a disease. Do they ever stop to think about what they do to so many lives? One girl seemed proud that she knew all the married men's secrets. That is sickening to me. Every married man that walks through their door has many other lives attached to his own. Each one of those lives is in jeopardy of being ripped to pieces simply because they want money. Is the money worth it? I doubt most of them even use the money in such a way as to, at least, "honor" the lives they have taken from so many. What could they possibly SPEND money on that would make dealing drugs, contributing to the further destruction of an addict AND ripping apart the lives of innocent family simply acceptable in their eyes? Nothing. The answer is nothing that money can buy is worth contributing to the destruction of another human being. It is immensely sad to me that these women and the club owners could place such little value on the life of another and place such enormous value on money. Actually..... it breaks my heart.

I watched the show on stripping today. It was interesting the people who stated "I wouldn't let my daughter do it" I cannot stop my daughter, she is 22 yrs. old and went to LA to live her dream as a makeup artist. She is now a dancer to support her b/f who does not work and who she definitly lowered her standards for.

Word from the wise: At your funeral, when the time comes, you will have all your accomplishments spoken about in your eulogy and you will leave your mark on the world and the people who loved you (which by the way aren't these men). You can't bring your money with you when you die, it's what you put in the 'bank' of your soul that carries on. I have dedicated my life to helping women take their responsiblities in life more seriously. I hope these women get the help they need so they can live up to their full potential and have the peace of mind of being able to look back and be proud of who they were.

I was glad to see your show about the sex industry today. Far too many in the media have left this topic behind because it has become glamorous & accepted. This has effected my family in a very deep way - we have lost one of our girls to its tempting profits. We will never give up on her - we continue to reach out lovingly without judgement or hostility. If you are in this industry, please know that despite your seemingly "good life" you are hurting those who love you. Is it worth it? If you feel there is no one who really loves you - there STILL IS! God cares for you more than you'll ever realize. Give your family and/or GOD a chance. You all deserve better for yourselves.

You ask the strippers wht they wouldn't let their Boyfriends,Husbands or Fiancees see them at work. let me tell most strip clubs have a policy about that. They are afaird that if you sinficant other comes to see you at work they might get jealous and beat the customer up or even worse beat their woman. JEALOUS is the key factor as to why most women won't bring their significant other to their job even if they accept what they do for a living. Strip clubs don't mind if they come in to have fun as long as you are not working that day.

I am watching this and feel sorry for the way these girls and club owners are being attacked about the daughter issue. You keep asking why they would not want their daughter doing this...but I ask you what parent wants there kid to do anything sexual? I also think you need to look at the do as I say rule not as I have done. I am neither pro or anti stripper...I just think this was an unfair angle to be taken! I mean ask any guy or girl who has a daughter and most will say that there daughter will not be allowed out of the house until they are at least 30...

at the strip clubs in austin texas they do not serve alcohol (only very expensive soft drinks) and you only have to 18 yrs old to work there as a stripper, bartender, or waitress

I think it is interesting that most of these strippers think that their jobs are okay, but most of them won't date a man who goes into a strip club or let their boyfriends watch them at "work". (Or let their daughters strip). It is pathetic that women are seen as a sexual commodity, and what is worse, some women actually believe they are "liberated" for falling into the sex industry. It is sad that some women value money more than their self respect.

These strippers must realize that their customers are people who cannot deal with reality. That these men are troubled. Strippers don't ruin men, though; men giving into temptation ruin themselves by going there in the first place. It would be nice, though, if the strippers stopped once in a while and realized that they ARE contributing to the break-up of families. They might want to realize that they are helping men become so obsessed with sex that they are leaving their own children fatherless when marriages are broken. A man who cares more for strippers and prostitutes than his own family is a loser, and strippers and prostitutes are dealing with men who disrespect them to the max; in fact, many men who hate women and enjoy seeing them degraded patronize strip clubs and prostitues. Are these dancers happy fulfilling that kind of fantasy?

I personally think each to their own, although believe there are more negatives than positives with this kind of lifestyle. I believe it depends on the person as we are all unique and have our own stories and reasons. Having been part of that lifestyle in the past, I realised it certainly wasn't for me.

$40,000. My ex gave a stripper and her baby, in 3 months. This was not his first. And let's make sure we understand this. Sex is happening in all strips clubs. Just be a regular for a while. pay your fav girl and guess what. Any sex. This is the undercover story waiting to happen....

Let's cut through the crap here. For these girls to make that type of money, we ALL know what they are doing to acquire it. No, if's and or but's.

Furthermore. MOST guys who go to strip clubs realize that the women are just entertainers. We know that these girls are out to hustle and make as much money as possible. For the few guys who throw their money away, well... that's up to them.

It all comes down to a cash exchange between the stripper and her mark.

I am writing in response to the Stripper show, I am a former stripper and I am in awe at the comments being made that no one is calling these girls on. First, that they are being offered jobs by these men. Sure they are, wait until these girls actually need one where will these guys be?? And how are they spending their money now?? are they investing in tose homes they want? I doubt it. These girls can talk a good talk but no man spend $100,000 on a stripper, not unless she is having sex in the VIP room and still I doubt he would shell out that kind of cash on a commoner. These girls have you snowed Dr. Keith. Playboy Bunny's working as Features don't make that kind of cash. I danced for 20 years and I made some good money in my hayday but lets call a spade a spade. Those girls will ver get outof the business and will be downgraded to a seedier club doing more for less. They need to be using that money to get an education that is how they should be investing. Looking forward to the follow up show in 10 years with these ladies. Hahaha
