“Life After Idol”

“American Idol” is back, and bigger and better than ever. This season’s premiere drew an estimated 37.3 million viewers -- making it the most-watched show in “Idol” history. Every year, tens of thousands of people audition for a spot to compete on the show, but only a precious few actually make a name for themselves. Have you ever tried out for a reality show? If so, was it a positive or negative experience?

Personally,I hate the show. When people really "make it" in music a great story and struggle is generally behind it. It makes it more intresting. These people are a bore.Same story; they went on TV and they made it. Ya,whatever.I do like Kelly Clarkson though.I've just heard that Taylor Hicks has begun behaving like a spoiled diva though. C'mon Taylor. You ain't that good. Most of them have faded away anyway. Where is Ruben? What a big yawn.

Thanks for a great show with the American Idols. I particularly liked Kevin Covais...he is so talented, so well-spoken and a great interview. He keeps your attention. I'd love to see him back on the show performing his rap song with Paris Bennett or plugging his own CD. Thanks again! You've made a "Dr. Keith" watcher out of me!

It was awesome seeing Kevin on the idol panel today on your show. It was a great show but Kevin didn't get to plug his duet with Paris Bennett on her album to be release in March. No matter what anyone said, "idol opens doors for people." Maybe it is a reality tv show but these are real people auditioning and of course they want a career out of it. It foolish not to.

These days, reality shows are for wannabe celebrities. No one these days just stumbles onto one without some sort of agenda - they want to be famous, or want to push their business, or hope to win a lot of money. I don't know how anyone can watch any of these shows and not think that people are "faking it" to be picked and then laying it on thick once they get on. I would never try out for a reality show because I do not want to be an actor.
