Is Your Kid "The Next Big Thing"?

Last year, more than 100,000 people tried out for "American Idol," all hoping for a shot at fame. In the end, though, only one walked away a winner. For every "overnight" sensation, there are far more people who never make it after years of trying. Are you a mother who has risked everything -- from your own career to your life savings -- because you think your child is a natural born superstar?

Regarding the 2/23/07 show about Holliwood Moms: Please know that "Danielle" turned down 2 full scholarships to highly accredited universities. She stubbornly wanted to attend another very pricey school and unfortunately, she has the same fiscal responsiblity as her mother and turned down BOTH of those opportunities. She was obviously (shamelessly)just posturing herself to receive donations during the show. I only hope that Michelle's eyes were opened when she saw herself on TV. Unfortunately though, her counselor training has made her an excellent manipulator, so she will undoubtedly have her rebuttal well scripted by now. It is such a shame that Nate is the pawn in this mess. .........So sorry to see the family go down in flames like this.

I just can't get over how selfish that boy was whose father was working 4 jobs and sister wasn't getting to go to a 4-year university. It was so appalling when he said it was ok if they ran out of money...I don't think his family would've agreed with that. That whole family is going to need a lot more than credit counseling.

I am watching the show today and it really hit home. I went down to LA last pilot season after being away for 10 years. It was an adventure in De' javu...I don't think I can get rid of the bug...
